  1. With the increase meaning they probably won’t offer discounts on our secured prices, I am quickly losing interest, despite my car being on the way. I did see the post about discounts offered by web sales but don’t fancy waiting another 6 - 9 months
  2. Thanks. I’ll check out Motorway. I have confirmation my order has left the factory and is in transit. So expect it at the dealers in about 6 weeks
  3. I just checked on CarWow and it was £5k more than WeBuy ! Any idea how accurate the estimates are compared with actual offers ? Good luck with the test drives. I looked into the Genesis but a bit like Tesla, I was nervous about a lack of service centres IF something goes wrong.
  4. One of the reasons for considering changing is the current high residual on my Velar. It’s 2 years old next month and WeBuy are offering £ 9k less than I paid - £ 375 / month depreciation on a £ 72k car seems really good. If I manage to secure a discount on the RZ I can swop for about £ 10k and get 10 years full warranty. JLR warranty is I believe about £ 1,200 a year initially then goes up quite a bit. I just can’t see me getting used to with a Tesla with no head up display or speedo directly in sight. Tesla recently trashed residuals by very publicly discounting new cars. Other marques may give you a discount but not publish a 10% discount and really pi** off everyone about to receive a car that they will pay 10% more for !
  5. Nor for me. Have you received an email confirming your car is built yet ? My dilemma is every time I think I may stick with my 2 year old Velar P400e something (mostly software) goes wrong and I don’t have faith in keeping the car even with full warranty. Best car I have ever owned (I’ve had 12 from new) was a Lexus GS 450h back in 2008. Only car I have kept for 3 years - was like brand new when I sold it on. It had a very very small boot but went like a rocket compared to other exec cars in the day - in those days they sold the hybrid more for performance than fuel efficiency.
  6. I won’t take the car without a test drive. When I placed the order and parted with £500 I told them it would have to as easy to get in and out off as my Range Rover Velar and that the cost to change would be reasonable.
  7. Just received an update direct from Lexus - my Takumi is built and on the way ! The dealer said the demo wouldn’t be available until May / June so my car may arrive before then !
  8. They said this morning the demo referred to must have been the upgraded RX. They are now expecting the RZ demo May / June so going well back from last date of 1st April
  9. I’ll call them in the morning. I had a call a few weeks ago and they were expecting the demo on the 1st April.
  10. Should have included this -
  11. I think the camera will be the same, if not better. On the recently updated Velar the 360 camera is no longer available on anything other than the Autobiography which the P400e isn’t available. Against all market sentiment the Autobiography is only available in diesel !! My dealer raised a query regards the lack of the 360 camera, even as an option on the HSE and was told it’s only available on top range models the P400e HSE list is £ 76k so probably £80k after options My main concern is after the ease of getting in and out of the Velar - Will the RZ be similar. Incidentally, my dealer called me last week to say they have a date for the demo car - 1st April - I’m hoping it’s not an April Fool. I’m still mulling over whether in 2 or 3 years time a car with a range of only 200ish miles will be a good sell residual value wise
  12. Should have included the link to the Lexus charging page - https://www.lexus.co.uk/electric-cars/public-charging
  13. You’re welcome. I found a Lexus Charging site and its map did show chargers from multiple providers. It’s using the Zap Map and I’m hoping the inbuilt Sat Nav has these. The map also shows the availability and recharge power for each site. I have a Velar which I’ve had from new 2 years ago. Just too many niggles, particularly with the EV (it’s a P400e) to consider keeping it long term. Shame as it is a good car.
  14. The 746 page Owners manual can be read and downloaded here - https://www.lexus.co.uk/content/lexus/uk/en/customer/manuals
  15. Toyota’s response to the article is a bit strange to say the least. They say that whilst the car may report there is zero miles range left there may actually be 9% say 25 miles. They say this to avoid the car having to stop when zero is reported ! https://www.elbil24.no/tester/range-issues-for-bz4x-toyota-responds-to-criticism/77763009
  16. That a good reason not to buy until the RZ300e comes
  17. Range even - although with only 85 mile Highway range in cold weather it may be rage !
  18. The reputable EV-Database has the rage at
  19. Received an update from my dealer yesterday. The current forecast is a car for a test drive early next year, maybe Feb with my delivery being May. At least it isn’t moving back !
  20. My dealer provided a further update on deliveries - looks like Lexus are shuffling builds to try to get some RZ’s out sooner rather than later When the car goes into build the delivery times may come forward, this happens sometimes, so although I am quoting you May now it maybe a little sooner but I think March will be a bit too soon, just from what is happening with other models and delays. For example Lexus is pausing sales of the NX 350h so that they can catch up and fulfil customer orders. If they did not pause the sales on this model then we would be looking at customer deliveries in 2024. Therefore across all of our models unfortunately there have been delays and unexpected situations so I cannot comment 100% on the delivery date for the RZ.
  21. I had an email from my dealer today confirming my order No as LE9783 with a current expected delivery of May 23. He also said - However when the car goes into build this date should come forward, but I do not know for certain or by how much. I am hoping he is right !
  22. £2k - was that your choice or is the £500 no longer available. Have you got a full order with the terms on it confirming the price with no get out for Lexus ?
  23. No they aren’t. They called on the same day the official price list was announced, asked my preferences and said demos realistically wouldn’t be in the UK until about June and my delivery Aug - prolly then waiting until the new reg in Sept. They had experienced deliveries of NX’s pushed back so were being quite pessimistic about actual delivery times - even at the cost of potentially losing a sale. At the same time, the Range Rover dealer I bought my car from told me if I ordered a RR then he couldn’t give an official delivery time but said not less than a year.
  24. If a dealer is adamant that the car would be delivered in March I would ask when they will have a car to test drive - the demos should be available well in advance of deliveries otherwise they will be risking manufacturing and delivering cars that the buyer can cancel and get their deposit back.
  25. The day the prices were formally announced my dealer called to ask my colour and trim colours. I asked him why now as he was saying delivery would be well into next year (probably Sept) and he said he wanted to load the factory order and this needed the info. He said it would then be an order in my name and not a dealer order - he also said that nearer the time of manufacture, if I wanted to change then it could push back delivery. He did assure me that I could pull out of the order and get my £500 back, up until a test drive or start of manufacture, whichever was the later.
