  1. Would love to know why the dealers differ so much. Had mine replaced by Lexus Oxford (they are a service centre only) earlier this year for £80-odd quid fitted.
  2. Awesome, nice job with the purchase. I saw that car on autotrader and thought it was an absolute bargain. It was obvious from the advert that it was a great car that had been very well looked after. The mileage means nothing on these - there are loads of owners in the U.S. with huge mileage cars without having any problems. Love them in white too!
  3. Congrats Ace, and welcome to a pretty exclusive club. You won't regret it for a moment as the cars do not have any real faults; it's all about keeping them serviced properly and having to spend a bit of money when it comes to tyres and brakes! Other than that, it will just run and run.......
  4. I have Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric tyres on the rear. They seem to be wearing well and feel good in the corners.
  5. Nice choice with the Megane; great car. £18k is a pretty good price but when you say it was a separate deal, was that price paid as a standalone deal ie not as a part ex?
  6. Really cool video, thanks for sharing. I like how the wheels are on the wrong way round though. I wonder how many times they had to change the tyres!
  7. I've tried a few times to get the memory seat linked to the key but it never works on my 2011 model. What was your way of doing it Keith? Once you have set your desired seating/steering/mirror position to a number on the door turn the ignition all the way off. Then (with no power to the car) press and hold that number on the door and the door lock button on your fob at the same time. You must press them at the same time or it won't work. The car should emit a long beep when it's set but the car might still lock with you inside. Then test it by moving your seat back a bit, get out the car and lock it. Once you touch the handle to re-open it, you should see your seat move back to your position. Then do the same for your partner's fob (but on a different door number obviously). Hopefully that will work for you but the procedures are in the owner's manual (they are in mine anyway)! Good luck.
  8. Hello mate. Mine's a 2008 and has memory seats that link to the key fobs (you need to set it up Peter!). It also has radar cruise control and adaptive lights (I presume you mean the ones that move as you go around a corner). That said, I would always get the latest model with the lowest mileage. I live in the Oxford area and I'm happy to show you mine if we can get meeting times/places sorted out. Cheers.
  9. Loving that look mate, nice job. It looks particularly mean with that rear diffuser. 😃
  10. Quite topical for me too. Mine wasn't really showing signs the way yours is; it basically went flat after being stood in the cold for over a week. I jump started it and it was ok - had it checked at a local garage and it was holding charge and being charged with no issues. The car would start ok after being left a day or two but would go flat after being left all week. I think it was the original battery (6 years!) and, after it wouldn't start last weekend I jump started it to get it replaced. A couple of things after doing that: 1. The car really didn't like having a flat battery. The CEL came on and the 'check VSC' Warner on the display. The car was fine and all warnings went after the battery was fully charged and the car turned off and on again. I since looked into it and was told (by Lexus and the U.S. forum) that it's normal for them to put up those warnings if the car does not receive the full voltage from the battery after engine start. 2. Since it was Saturday afternoon I couldn't go to the dealer so went to halfords first then ATS. Halfords wanted £130 and, whilst on my way I passed ATS who wanted £100 fitted so decided to go with them. Problem was, the battery their catalogue said would fit - didn't! Same applied to a local parts supplier after reference from their Bosche catalogue. So I had to wait until Monday when I took it into lexus. They charged £88 fitted and now all is well - even after being left for well over a week. My gauge shows one over the middle on a cold start but then rests in the middle after a few minutes - this was even the case with the battery that had clearly seen better days! Lastly I can't believe the difference since the battery was changed - the car really does learn how you drive and adjusts gear change and power delivery accordingly. Mine now has to re-learn that! And I even had to set up the window switches again in order to allow me to lower the passenger windows from the driver's seat. Mental! Sorry about the length of my reply but I hope this helps.
  11. I just press the 'climate' button on the centre console and read the temperature in the top right corner rather than cycle through the trip computer
  12. History shows: great cars, built in small numbers remain expensive irrespective of age - try getting hold of an integrale (ISF performance and reliability they are not).
  13. It depends what people want to pay; you were considering paying that amount for a 59 plate .........with 64k miles! The lower mileage 58 plates (not an 08 btw) for sale at the moment are circa £25k and mine has way less miles than any of them. It's also been serviced 6 times over its 25k miles. I was jk anyway as I'm not selling it yet :)
  14. Have to echo what the guys have said: I cannot believe that anyone paying all that money for a performance car only to service it when they feel like it is beyond me. I'd sell you mine for £23k (and it's been Molly-coddled for all its 25k miles!)
  15. Just spent a couple of weeks in the US and was shocked to see their Shell V Power was 93 Ron! There were three petrol options With the entry level being just under 84 Ron!! Had to concentrate when filling up as the diesel pumps were green and the petrol pumps were black. Glad it was a hire car.
  16. Shame that mate, but it might be worth posting on the IS forum about this......only ISF owners here (the V8 one lol).
  17. Not sure the mark up would be that high. When I traded in my GS450H for the ISF the difference between what they gave me and the subsequent screen price was just £3000. My car didn't have a lexus warranty at the time and they gave me the price negotiated over the phone ie didn't even see or drive the car. I certainly didn't pay through the nose for the ISF either given its condition and mileage; with current values, and even after a year of ownership, my car would be for sale at lexus for about £3-4k more than I paid for it if it. Obviously not worth that if I were to sell it privately. The thing is, the demand is most certainly there: I went into my local dealer this week to chat about the recal and the salesman told me that they regularly have customers asking if there are any ISFs on their way in. Even if that £17k ISF is a bit ropey, it won't be for sale for very long.
  18. Welcome and congrats mate. It might be worth posting on the IS220D forum to see if other owners have any alloy wheel issues. The ISF has completely different wheels so people who are usually on here may not be able to answer your questions.
  19. It's a real shame about the disparity between dealership experiences. Mine has been inline with Lexus' reputation having found them to be fantastic. It might be worth giving Cambridge a try; I know they have denied it to another forum member but they did my 60k for £600 in July. I asked them to check my water pump and have a really good look around and they obliged and were very good overall. Good luck and it would be a shame if you had to sell for this reason - there isn't another equivalent car that can compare!
