  1. It's definitely worth it. No other colour comes up like this.............
  2. Concur with Stu. The car will I'm sure be just fine but people will always get hung up on mileage. All I would say is have a look at some of the classic Fords that come up for sale. Many now have serious mileage on cars that weren't exactly synonymous with reliability, yet they command serious £££ because of their rare classic status. In danger of repeating myself again but I really think the ISF will go that way being the first F car (LFA doesn't count!) and one that is consummately reliable. Gib, It looks like you were lucky as Emjay is just round the corner from me!
  3. I will likely put it on Piston heads within the next couple of weeks. I have time on my side but it will probably be the cheapest low mileage ISF (32k miles) for sale in the UK.
  4. I had the V8 itch too and being a fan of Lexus I bought an ISF expecting to keep it a year and move on like all the other cars I've owned. Yet here I am over 2 years later and loving it as much as the day I picked it up. It's been faultless throughout and I am gutted to have to sell it due to work commitments.
  5. Nice one Stu, glad you got it sold ok in the end and a few welcome tips there. I will likely be selling mine soon so I will take your experiences on board.
  6. This was from a journey that started on a full tank to the point you can see on the gauge. My best has actually been 36.1 mpg over 125 miles, all with super unleaded (which helps)!
  7. Thought the same myself but unless you intend to track it, there is little point. The extra money for a MY 2010 is not worth it IMO, especially if the mileage and/or history isn't as good. Very honest of you. Why would you be selling chap? Job change in the offing and I won't keep the ISF for the potential commute. I've only put 16k miles on it in two years and have enjoyed every one using it only for family transportation. Still love it, so it will be hard to make the decision to sell!

  9. May have to sell mine at the end of the year too. I will be gutted to see it go when the time comes. Hopefully won't have issues selling it though as I intend to advertise at the right level and the mileage (not quite 30k yet) and history will certainly help. When the time comes I will likely make it the cheapest on auto trader at the time (unless there are any really high milers or snotters on at the time!)
  10. All the best and congrats with the sale. I'm sure you'll enjoy the Beemer.
  11. It's the same Cat D car - same registration, just looks like it has different exhaust tips. Not really cricket though by not telling potential buyers it's been up a tree in the past! at £15k it's way overpriced for a car that was deemed to have a bent chassis! They've been busy in it too. Done another 13000 miles.Nope!http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-Lexus-IS-F-5-0-4dr-acc-pcs-/281685323866?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4195c0f05a&nma=true&si=cG%252BiRQ%252BicuqZoZ2dWaSsOhLnX%252Fg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

  13. Nice car, great choice (no bias), and welcome to the exclusive club!
  14. All quite true Peter, not sure if the plugs would be affected in some way by age, don't know. Either way, I think it's still important to follow the schedule and would feel that it didn't receive a 'full' major service if they weren't replaced.
  15. Mine only had 22,000 miles on the clock when it had its major service last year - the spark plugs still looked like new but were still changed along with everything else on the schedule. Did you ask for the spark plugs to be changed? I thought they only changed them at 60K. The plugs are on the schedule, irrespective of mileage, so they were changed.

  17. Guys, given the servicing costs seem to differ across the country, I thought it would be useful to have a thread where you can post the prices and the kind of service you got. I'm about to put mine in for a minor service, but to give me an idea of what I should be paying, what did you guys pay for your last (ideally recent) minor service? Cheers
  18. I believe so. Or was it just slightly wider tyres in the same size wheels? Not sure mate, I didn't think the wheels changed across any of the model years.
  19. Stu, are the rear wheels on later models are slightly wider than the early models? Either way, early and later models have specific wheel locations. Ross, you're right, the wheels on the ISF can only be fitted to specific corners; I've seen them swapped from left to right which just means the cooling effect of the spokes is lost, but I've never seen them swapped corner to corner meaning that one of the back wheels is a 225 and the other is a 255 - far from ideal if it's not spotted.
  20. Quite alarmingly, the White ISF for sale (39k miles for £22,495) has had the front right and the rear left wheels swapped over, Oops.
  21. Didn't see this fault mentioned on the U.S. Forum and there are thousands over there!
  22. Welcome - lovely Supra by the way, I've always had a soft spot for them. As you rightly point out, the F is absolutely bullet proof with no real issues reported - even across the American forum (and they have loads of them over there). If your Supra is tuned, you might not notice much of a difference in power but I promise that you will much prefer the noise the F makes! You won't go wrong as long as you budget for consumables such as tyres and brakes. That said, I have found that mine aren't wearing out quickly at all; after almost two years of ownership, my disks and pads are still nowhere near close to being worn and the rear tyres (that I was forced to change prematurely) still look new! Let us know how you get on.
  23. Hahaha. Well put - now you know what all the fuss is about!
