  1. i do believe someone did make a 200mph corolla it was black but cant find anything on youtube ,somebody else should know about it

edit - see here made by fensport

    700bhp corolla

    I could have him :P

i was thinking the same until i seen the standing start :crybaby:

the fensport corolla is currently leading the toyota sprint series,

and i will be competing against it at the teesside event this weekend :crying:

driven by adrian smith the owner of fensport ......very quickly !

I have seen this car, and it is awesome.

Good luck competing against the 3S-GTE powered beast!

  2. NO NO NO NO NO.

DO NOT buy the Ebay kits, they are ****

Send me your email address in a pm and i'll send you how to change you dash over to blue/or whatever colour you want, and you'll bve able to read your dials at night.

***BEWARE*** to change your A/C and radio to blue so it looks good you must be handy with a soldering iron.

    Stav

Listen to stav on this one.

I have blue dash and its cool.

  3. My shop in Exeter is a retail house furnishers. We have 10000 sq ft showrooms plus curtains and carpets shops nearby. We sell mid to high quality products, (not cheap ikea/dfs chineese mass produced tat.)

Business is not good! As mentioned, retail as a whole is way down and consumer spending is at its lowest since....well, before my time! Obviously with in this business we pick up a lot of sales from people moving house, which at the moment, they are not. These are luxury items we sell and in these hard times, its the luxuries that have to go first. It's a case of "well we were gonna spend £3000 on a new suite, but things being a bit tight, we'll make do with ours for another year, or two." This is the sort of thing I am hearing. At a time when prices increases are more than ever, with some products (especially from the continent) seeing 15-30% price rises this year alone, which is unheard of.

We are a family business, established 40+ years. Due to our loyal customer base and low overheads (owning the building compared with competition paying half million pound rents) we should survive the low, but is getting hard to pay the bills and wages every month!

I'm looking at sales around 30% down on this time last year. Which to many business would cripple them, but we are staying afloat....just. Have just had two members of staff leave, and are not replacing them, we don't have the budget or the the workload for them at the moment.

I blame the media, I don't believe all this is as bad as the scare mongers would have you believe. The average guy on the street does not really know what is gonin on, but is scared.

  4. Wegiel, are you sure about those 12l/100km? (23,5mpg)

    At 90km/h i ve got 7,5 - 9 l/100km (37,6 - 31,4 mpg) with steady gas and a seemingly leveled road.

Yeh that doesn't sound right, if the car is standard and you drive sensibly. I would guess you should get around 8.

Thinking about it. On long runs I can get 25mpg, which is about 8.5 litres per 100km. This was with snow mode ON and cruising at 100mph - 160kph.

  5. I'll probably start running using the LPG installation which was mounted by the previous owner though I never thought I'd use this kind of fuel, :duh:

If it is there, use it!

If economy is a big concern for you thou, you have the wrong car.

Snow mode helps a little, but driving style is the main influence.

It is not uncommon for mine (supercharged) to return 17-18mpg if pushing hard, that's around 14 litres/100km in Polish money, or 3 miles to the £, in actual money!

  6. Had many fancy phones. Never fully happy with any of them. Always broken half way through contract.

Currently have a Nokia 5500 Sport, which is shockproof and water resistant. Has been dropped from a 5th story window run over by my Jeep and dropped in a pint. (Some by accident, some to prove a point!) Absolutely indestructible.

I find this suits my needs. It makes calls and text messages. If i want to use the internet i use a computer, if i want to take photos i use a camera, and to listen to music..... i use an ipod.

Though when my contract is up I will be getting an iphone/X1/N96/I900, probably the Sony though.

  7. freedom of speech! You can't ban someone just because they have strong opinions! it is quite hilarious just to see the egos at play here. I don't need to watch X-factor for entertainment, just read this thread! haha!

I'm all for freedom of speech and this thread has provided me many a laugh. I would never suggest banning anyone for their opinions, everyone is entitled to their opinion (even Tyger, and even if they are wrong). But once opinions have been aired, do we need another 7 pages of back and fourth apple advertising and off topic personal insults?

  8. I thought with your Big Gold Badge you would be above that kind of thing.

Oh yeh, have a dig at a Gold Member because he respects the forum and what it can offer enough to give something back. Isn't it Gold Members who keep this forum going?

Though obviously his money would be better spent on an ipod shuffle, right?

We are all tired of your apple loving drivel, and personal digs at well liked members such as Geoffers is gonna get peoples backs up. If it keeps on like this then this thread will not improve and will need to be edited/closed by mods.

We are all well aware of your views on all things apple, and all things not apple (you know, that rubbish other people waste their money on). We have all read and taken in (though mostly disregarded) your advice, you don't appear to have anything new to say on the matter, so please, for everyone's sake - Shut Up!

  9. How many litres are needed for the system? and can the right stuff be bought from toyota? (also what is the name) thanks.

7.1 litres according to the online workshop manual here

Yes, Toyota should have the correct coolant.

If you are just doing the Radiator you won't need quite that much. Toyota coolant all the way.

To drain the rad, remove the underliner (few bolts) the tap is obvious on bottom lefthand (passenger side) side of the rad.

(On second thoughts, ya may be able to do it without removing the undertray? But i did as changing radiator too.)

  10. Sorry if seen before, but made laugh, sure one or two of ya will appreciate it...

  11. i do with an exhaust like that as i dont want road salt damaging such an expensive piece, its just a 5 min job to put the old one on which only costs a fraction and is already rusty.

    Sorry if goin :offtopic:

Though this is not a bad idea, will a stainless steel exhaust not be protected from rusting etc anyway? I thought that was the point of using stainless? My HKS has been on 4 years and not a sign of rust, same as previous cars.

(On the wheels, well thats a different matter!)

  12. Must admit I have never found a touchscreen that is as good as a proper keypad; including the iphone 3G! Some people I know (like gord!) do text alot and a touchscreen just isn't suitable. Both have there advantages and disadvantages and there is no "best", just got to find what is most suitable for the individuals needs.

Same thing for me, that's why i'm leaning toward the X1 with touchscreen AND qwerty keyboard.

Like 84Stony said however try and keep the software upto date due to bug fixes. Saying that however, from the reviews I have seen the N96 is supposed to be pretty stable and has been described as a polished version of the N95 8Gb with most bug fixes sorted.

If that is true, if it is a polished version of the N95, with a bigger screen and a couple of new features, and all bugs fixed, then yes - it will be a very nice phone.

Let us know how you find it after a couple weeks use Gord.

  13. Let's hope they let you take the N96 back too.

Let's not for get the difference between a Touch Screen and a Multitouch screen shall we?

    *Pulling teeth*

You really don't give up do you?

I put my two pence worth in earlier, and had a long post completely edited out, so not gonna start ranting again!

Gord - I hope you're happy with your phone. Though from experience of various Nokia N-Series phones, they are very capable, but Battery life is not great and software has it's issues from time to time. Be sure to plug it into your PC and keep the firmware on it updated, this will help reliability, also, if you use it online much, get some security software of some kind. Phones these days are like computers and need to be treated as such!
