  1. Morning all, Can anyone tell me what the purpose is of this display on the windscreen of a GT3 car please? It's not the car's number (it's car 30) and it changed to 05 when it was wheeled into the garage. I'm half watching this as I "work" from home and I'm rather curious:
  2. Getting slightly back onto topic, I've found myself addicted to this shy, reserved character on YouTube:
  3. Planet Rock will come out of the stereo on startup as always :-)
  4. Every day I learn something new and useful here!
  5. Can anyone suggest a cleaner capable of getting coffee off a laptop screen please?
  6. If I may digress a bit, does anyone remember this? ...which led to this: I'd just graduated and was working at an Engineering company in Peterborough. At the time I was on a placement to the Experimental Department and each afternoon for a week when the practice formation flew back to Wittering, they'd come slap bang overhead. We'd nip up to the roof and get a great view of them coming over.
  7. I expected nothing less :-)
  8. I've just remembered - way back in the late 80's I went to an air display at Mildenhall. I think it was one of the last shows by the Lightning and it did the take off and straight up thing as everyone expected. Anyway, then there was this which some kind soul has uploaded to YouTube
  9. Living in Peterborough, I grew up with the sounds of Harriers heading to and from Wittering, Phantoms tooing and froing from Alconbury, F1-11's passing over, Lightnings, Hunters, Canberras and Victors, but the best were the Vulcans, especially when they did that turn thing which made that amazing howl as exhibited in this video. When XH558 took to the skies again, I remember Mrs Mincey telling me of this odd shaped plane she'd seen flying over the A1. I only managed to see it in flight a couple of times, but it really brought back some cracking memories. If I may be permitted to digress a little, having the BoBMF Lancaster passing over the house at tree-top height once, was rather special too.
  10. Nice one. Shopping around really helps. I didn't bother until recently as I saw it as a bit of a faff having to cancel the existing policy. Direct debit makes it easy to do this which is why I guess the companies get complacent. I halved my car insurance last year using a comparison site. I've just cancelled the household policy with the insurer I've been with for nine years. Their premium was £6 less than last year, which I thought was tremendous news until I Compared The Market and got a policy with another insurer for £200 (versus £462!). If my loyalty to a particular insurer doesn't result in annually decreasing premiums, I'm leaving.
  11. Stolen, printed out, stuck onto my jump leads. Thank you @Herbie
  12. I used to work in Thetford and on Training Tuesday they'd all roar off first thing in the morning to go on exercises over The Wash. If it wasn't them disturbing the peace, it was the Apache Gunships going to have fun in the Forest.
  13. Beautiful things, Blackbirds. Anyone with even a slight interest in planes should spend a day at Duxford https://www.dropbox.com/s/ykedu4bsn68srdd/2006_0919 Duxford (34).JPG?dl=0 Talking of planes, I remember in pre-M25 days, going round the Heathrow perimeter road just as night fell and Concorde was departing. Full afterburners had been engaged and the trail of whoosh coming out of the engines had those diamonds clearly showing (if you know what I mean, you'll know what I mean...)

    Hello!!

The IS250 is a fantastic car - I miss mine. We had lots of adventures together.
  15. Hello and welcome Kish. I've been in Lexuses/Lexi/Lexus (I forget what the official plural is) since September 1999 and I haven't seen or driven anything since which has tempted me to stray from the brand.
  16. I has two IS200 Sports and an IS250 SE-L. The 250 would get my vote.
  17. Beginning of the End is awesome. I make custom content for Rocksmith (Guitar Hero for real guitars) and have wanted to have a crack at that for a long time. Trouble is, it's Paul Gray on bass and he's a monster player.
  18. I wasn't lucky enough to see the original line up of Dr Feelgood, but I saw the (then!) current line up supporting The Stranglers about a year ago and they were awesome.
  19. Agreed. The further it goes on, the more the blood starts to boil. It's a shame that evidence like this in the public domain is (probably) not admissible on court.
