  1. Mine beeps approaching a long since vacated camera site. Another reason for using a phone app!
  2. I like Marmite, but I'm afraid that body kit doesn't do anything for me.
  3. I do indeed. It was Mr Woods - a very stern chap who we were all scared of. I was a car nut back then and all my teachers suggested that my parents got me a job at Lotus. Many years later I worked for a Lotus Business Partner, but sadly that was Lotus software and not Lotus cars. Hey ho....
  4. One of my junior school teachers converted a LHD Lotus Elan (the original sort) to RHD. That's not a great deal of help here though is it?
  5. Before you dive in: https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/123504-smart-keys-and-wireless-phone-chargers/?tab=comments#comment-1125530
  6. I find myself pressing Next most of the time when playing my favourites on Spotify. They can't really be my "favourites" then, can they? 😉
  7. It's barely run in.
  8. Ssssshhhh - let's not tempt fate! 😉
  9. Will do - I've already set three monthly reminders so I remember to do it regularly, but doing it in another month then starting on the three monthly applications makes sense.
  10. My Sonax GummiPfleger arrived last night from Amazon (other online retailers are available of course) so before bedtime, I sneaked out to treat all the door seals. I've just returned from a test drive and....... I now have a Lexus! What a difference. All the squeaks have gone. It's infinitely better than it was and other than banging over potholes and badly filled areas of road, it's practically silent in there. Thanks to @wharfhouse for the recommendation :-)
  11. I was very interested to read this thread. My IS300h is certainly far, far creakier than my IS250 so I have just ordered some of the Sonax stuff to see if that quietens things down.
  12. I find it unreliable too. There's a sign it always misses going from a 30 to a 60 so I get beeps all the way up the road. For unfamiliar places, I can't rely on it, so I'm going to stick with the phone apps.
  13. No problem! I always feel faint after doing anything with the nav system in the car. "Intuitive" isn't a word I'd use to describe it. I could see no sign of "Show speed limit info". That's not to say it isn't there. It could be buried deep down somewhere I've not been yet... They're the only settings I have I'm afraid.
  14. I didn't know that it was possible to show the speed limit info on the sat nav map. This is something which I would love to have - my wife's Ioniq has it and it's a godsend. I just use Google Maps and the Radarbot app to keep me on the right side of the law.
  15. I'm slightly concerned now, as I was told that all the alloy woes were long since gone when I picked up my IS300h....
  16. Absolutely. If they could find the car and battery, they'd try to sell you a replacement at least three times more expensive than the one you needed.
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdbrIrFxas0
  18. The ride in my IS300h is significantly worse than the ride in my IS250. The road past my local hospital has been dug up more times than I can remember. My IS250 would waft over the road scars. My IS300h rattles and bangs over all of them. I'd swap the 18's for 17's in a jiffy. Ok, it probably corners better than my IS250 did, but I'm 52 and I'll never be Ayrton Senna.
  19. As someone who has gone from a 17" shod IS250 to an 18" shod IS300h, I'd stick with your 17" wheels.
  20. I remember when I first went to look at an IS200 at Marshalls in Cambridge. They were a bit of a shower frankly. I stood looking at it for about half an hour before the salesman decided I wasn't going away. He wouldn't let me take it for a test drive there and then, making me come back the next day to drive the same car. I got the figures for the trade in and took them away to have a think. By luck I was doing some consultancy for Automotive Leasing at the time and the chap I was working for said he'd get me a better deal which he did. The car still came from Marshalls sadly. There were several hiccups along the way with Marshalls - no courtesy car at the first service, then it was taken in for a mat recall, and the carpets ended up needing to be changed. Their driver drove the car back to Peterborough with the front seat not tightened down and the passenger headrest on the parcel shelf. A complaint to head office got a free next service. I then switched to Lexus Leicester and everything has been fine and dandy since.
  21. My car history is pretty boring: 1) Vauxhall Nova 1.2L. Only issues were having to have a new head gasket and a new battery. I had to call the AA out once as I ran the petrol down to the last sip and got a carb full of gunk. Ran it for 5 years. 2) Rover 623SLi - no faults at all in 2 years of ownership 3) IS200 Sport #1 - no faults at all in 3 years of ownership 4) IS200 Sport #2 - timing belt and water pump changed at the normal interval, other than that, nothing (6 years ownership) 5) IS250 SEL - battery replaced after 10 years, aircon compressor replaced, exhaust back boxes replaced, water pump replaced (12 years ownership) So only the Nova let me down, and that was self inflicted.
  22. Hmm. I'm on a roll this morning: https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/136172/bmw-3-series-compact
  23. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1884232&i=0 Six pages in and no mention of any Lexus. Lots of complaints about BMWs though....
  24. "Earlier on today apparently a woman rang the BBC and said she had heard that there was a hurricane on the way. Well if you are watching, don't worry, there isn't."
