  1. I'm pretty sure that the letter is genuine - I guess the proof will be a cheque arriving in six weeks. I shall report back!
  2. +1. I much prefer buttons. I can see why touchscreens are attractive to manufacturers as it simplifies production and gives a "cleaner" layout but I hate having to go through umpteen menus to find things. Just let me press a button! Did you see that Tesla had to deactivate a game they'd installed to run on their touch screens?
  3. Put the left/right button in the middle position and lock the car. If they're going to fold, they'll fold 🙂
  4. Elton John taught me everything I know about name dropping.
  5. It all looks ok - fonts/spelling/layout/NI number. Government link checks out too. I can't do anything about it as I've not yet registered the LPoA with them so I'll just have to wait.
  6. HMRC! My 82 year old mother has just received a letter saying she's due a tax rebate. Can she log on to gov.uk/p800refund to claim it. No problem. I've been through all the rigmarole to create an account for her, but now it wants details of: - her passport - credit reference questions - NI driving licence. She does not have a valid passport or a NI driving licence. Does the taxman actually think things through? No wonder the Beatles didn't like him. Guess it's a six week wait for the cheque now.
  7. Chair, Chairperson, Chairwoman. What next? Wopersons?
  8. And remember when F1 drivers suddenly became "pilots"? Pilots fly planes, drivers drive cars.
  9. As someone who went from an IS250 SE-L to an IS300h F Sport, I'd recommend trying an IS300h with 17" wheels as well. I found the ride from the 18"s on my IS300h F Sport a little harsh.
  10. There is something which we are definitely not being told.
  11. Can I throw slippers into the ring too please? I have found the same thing with them. Two months use and they're falling to pieces. I bet this kind of shoddy manufacturing wouldn't be tolerated in North Korea...
  12. I wish to moan about people who moan that people are moaning!
  13. Can I also moan about post-Christmas adverts? If I hear that awful Jet2Holidays advert again, I will put a brick through the television. Also, where are all the adverts for the weekly "build a Ferrari F40 in 652 parts" magazines? First issue is £1.99, the rest are £9.99, making the total cost of the model £6,515.47 (if I've done my sums correctly). Surely it's cheaper to look on Amazon for a kit?
  14. Has anyone moaned about the time hosts take to announce winners on programmes like Strictly etc? If not, can I get one in please? Just announce who has won or who is getting kicked out, there's no need for a three hour pause.
  15. It's probably a BMW or Audi driver who has borrowed the RX.
  16. And possibly a Blackjack!
  17. I managed to find a two pence piece!
  18. Good afternoon, my learned forum chums. It's New Years Eve, and from an early age I was indoctrinated into the habit of putting a bag containing some fuel (a bit of wood), some food (a bit of bread) and some money (some coins) outside on December 31st each year. I was then told to be sure that the first thing I did the following day was to bring it in again. This would guarantee that I had warmth, food and money for the year to come. To date, this habit has served me well. However, this year I have a problem. I have no cash. I would value your collective input here - would putting my debit card out in lieu of cash suffice, or would the Gods Of Luck take a dim view of this?
  19. Five minutes! Just five minutes. Good grief. Why would you even risk it?
  20. Apparently there is, but it's a 10+ miles detour. I may be wrong. 10+ miles or scrapping the car? I guess it's a tough choice. However even with "Road Closed - Flood" signs up, the lemmings still attempt to drive through. Surely the fact that there is a baying crowd waiting and praying for disaster either side of the bridge, and now a bagpiper, must give a clue to the impending peril?
  21. Each to their own and all that, as I was only saying to Ralph the Dishwasher yesterday.
  22. More Schiessewagen death here, plus if you're going to attempt to tow a car with a Volvo, add 1 Person Power. Oh and there's now a resident Bagpiper.
  23. Betsy did this to me earlier today on a downward slope towards a mini roundabout in Stamford. Luckily thanks to your post, I knew exactly what she was up to. I may write to South Kesteven District Council and tell them to get their roads in order.
  24. It's a real PITA when people start using them isn't it?
