  1. What have the Romans ever done for us?
  2. The options can differ depending on whether the engine is running or it's in Accessory mode.
  3. No, I'm Spartacus.
  4. The opening on the ES is bigger though which makes putting bulky things like bass cabs in. The downside is that the hinges (hinges?) are exposed unlike on the IS which means large things can be crushed if you're not careful.
  5. P.S. Don't forget to post photos of your ES!
  6. Hello Chris and welcome to the ES forum - you clearly have exceptional taste 🙂 There have been several posts about spare wheels - here's one of them:
  7. I wouldn't be without a boot liner. I got one for my first IS200 and thought it was extortionately expensive but when I had to brake sharply and a bottle of wine smashed in the boot, it paid for itself.
  8. I started to enquire about my sixth today and thought that was an achievement. I've clearly got a long way to go! 😄
  9. I wouldn't normally go for an estate/wagon/shooting brake but that IS estate would definitely get my bank card out. I was tempted for a moment by a UX or NX but for my needs, the boot space is way too small.
  10. Absolutely!
  11. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/dreamy-lexus-is-sportwagon-demonstrates-why-estates-shouldn-t-be-a-dying-breed-219631.html That would be one good looking car. Why oh why oh why Lexus didn't/don't you make estate versions of the IS and ES?
  12. Plus with a Carista you can use Hybrid Assistant which tells you all about your driving style/economy and all that good stuff.
  13. So was mine! I've just installed the + version. I was wondering if there was a different version because someone the other day posted saying that they could see the doors were all unlocked through the app. It pretty much looks the same, but I think it's crucial to have the "+" version. I'm very much like a 1980's sales rep who had to have the fuel injected version of the Vauxhall Cavalier - the "i" was for "important" after all.... 😉
  14. I'm beginning to regret choosing the Stoplock Pro now. Those Milenco units look significantly more usable. The thing I don't like about the Stoplock is having to make sure that the wheel is in the right position so that I can get it through without hitting the indicator stalk.
  15. Not sure - I'm sure I read something on here about a delay caused by a lack of ML chips. I'll have to go back and have another look as I can't remember where I saw it!
  16. Is there still an issue getting hold of the chips for the ML stereos or has that all been resolved now?
  17. I'd read all the posts on here about the IS220d. To be fair, I still see a lot of them around and they look to be in good condition. There are plenty of horror stories here to counter balance that though. If you can get an IS250 instead, I'd go with that and many others would give the same advice too.
  18. Meant to change the above to say it was an M Sport but hit quote instead of edit. D'oh...
  19. A colleague took me out in his '19 320d yesterday. Seeing the dash alone would have made me flee the showroom. It rattled, was very uncomfortable and certainly was nowhere as quiet as the ES.
  20. Many years ago, a colleague lent his company Astra to four students who were on the company undergraduate scheme. Never a good idea to lend your car to students - I should know, I was one of those company undergraduate students once and used to enjoy ragging the pool cars as often as possible. Anyway, the student driving the Astra did about five miles with the handbrake on. When they arrived back at the office, the smell was horrendous, both inside the car and out. My colleague was billed for the damage too which was severe and rather unfair. Whether he exacted a vicious revenge was never clear.
  21. I had fun and games with the AA over Betsy's plate. They also still had me down with my IS300h so Lexus Leicester must have forgotten to tell them about the change. I think it was about 45 minutes in all on the phone. LL have only just got her down with the correct number plate after nearly two years - booking services was always a bit of a challenge.
  22. The passing of time hasn't made it any more appealing that it was back in the 90's. And it wasn't very appealing then. I'd love to know how intoxicated the manager who signed the design off was. My boss had one and instead of letting me drive a hired Escort (steady!) from Peterborough to Stoke, he lent me his metallic orangey/red/awful Scorpio. I'd rather have walked.
  23. Windscreen replaced - genuine Lexus glass, so I'm well chuffed. I'm also feeling even more comfortable in Betsy now as the slightly altered position in which the technician left the seat seems better than my setting.
  24. Betsy goes under the knife at Autoglass tomorrow. I shall be pacing up and down outside for the three hours I'm told it will take...
