  1. its meant to be the way it is in my photo :) that is how my oem bumper was. oh and yes the colour does look off for some weired reason in the photos but when you look at it in real life its almost 99.9% match. The weather was quite bad yesterday during the install and plus the iphone pics look like its reflecting light somehow. Oh and plus the bumper is new and polished and the car still needs to be polished :)
  2. The IS-F and the ISX50 have identical rears so most rear parts bolt straight on considering all mounting brackets and things are added. But the front is wider. I am considering doing the front at a later stage but this requires bumper, grills, fogs, hood, fenders and side skirts to all be replaced.
  3. Hey everyone, Someone recently scraped my IS250's rear bumper in a car park and broke the reflector. As I had no details on who did it, making a insurance claim wasnt the route i wanted to go down. So I decided to just get it sorted myself. Since i was going to be spending money on the repair, I decided to embark on a project to try and do an IS-F rear conversion, and I am happy to say I have successfully completed the project and all installation photos are provided in this thread. Before I proceed with the details, I'd like to say that I know there are some people who do not like the idea and think of it as posing. I personally don't think it is, but to each his own. There are many people out there who genuinely like the look of the stacked ISF tips. I am one of them and because of this i wanted to do this mod. not because i want to look like an ISF or want people to think i got an ISF. It would however be crossing the line and posing if it was de-badged and badged with ISF emblems etc... I'm absolutely happy with my IS250 emblem without the need to disguise it as an ISF or anything else. But like i said to each his own... The total cost of this project including the charges for painting the bumper at a bodyshop was £650. The parts here in the UK are way too expensive. So I purchased everything except the bumper from Lexus Japan and hence made quite a saving. I previously had a Tom's Rear Lip on the rear bumper which I will be auctioning on eBay shortly. Here are the pictures and details from start to finish. Note: In the pictures it may look like the bumper colour is not 100% match but it is actually 99.9% matching. It's just the weather yesterday didnt help the iphone photos Test fitting to make sure bumper will fit before placing order for the most expensive parts. The OEM IS-F Tips and Reflectors: Painted IS-F bumper with one of the tips installed This is how it looks once OEM bumper is removed OEM Exhaust Tip Removed Tailpipe has to be cut short, this is how long it is: And this is how short it is after cutting And here comes the IS-F bumper and all photos:
  4. As Parthiban said, only the 09 models onwards have this feature where once the door is locked, the mirrors fold away. The models prior to this don't have this feature. I am working on a relay to do exactly that.
  5. there must have been some sort of bad quality respray work done on that area of your car. i really dont believe the factory paint will be defective like that
  6. I need some advice and opinions regarding the IS250 exhaust The OEM IS250 exhaust has twin exit and one muffler on each side. Each muffler has a single tailpipe with a chrome oval shaped tip. Basically what i want to know is if its possible for a exhaust specialist that does welding/fabrication to somehow add an extra tailpipe on each muffler? Before anyone replies with the bumper issue, thats not an issue for me i just would like to know if it is possible to add extra tailpipes exiting from the mufflers? thanks
  7. Can anyone please tell me what the difference between runflats and normal tyres?
  8. these two sites have good resolution pictures of exterior and interior: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/detroit-200...us-hs250h-live/ http://thepassionatepursuit.com/2009/01/11...fficial-photos/
  9. Can anyone tell me how the engine cover is removed? I'm referring to the engine cover that has the Lexus Logo emblem on it.
  10. Theres two ways to do this. 1. Wire Cutting method (May VOID your warranty if Lexus find out) 2. Use plug and play hardware such as TOM's TV Navigation override system. When i did my hack, there wasnt a plug and play device available at that time so hence I used the wire cutting method. This can VOID your warranty if Lexus discover you have done this. If you want the TOM's plug and play device, then contact dave at prolex-uk, he is the official TOM's distributor in the UK and provides a great service. If you want to use wire cutting method, let me know and I will PM you the link to the step by step guide.
  11. If you do not want or feel capable of d.i.y, why not take it to WIM if you're in the London area? Sorry who is WIM? any details? quality of work, contact details etc.? thanks
  12. Has anyone had their front discs & pads replaced on their is250 by Lexus dealership. I'd like to know how much it costs for supply & fit and what dealership? Thanks
  13. whats the best method for cleaning the centre console wood trim by the gear shifter? normal interior cleaning products dont seem to work as it makes it misty and greasy. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks
  14. thanks, I think you're right it just needs to be wiggled out. I'm planning my quad tips project soo.
  15. Does anyone know how I can remove the OEM Chrome exhaust tips that come with the IS250?
  16. I've come across paintituk.com that isnt too far away from home (about 45minutes drive). just wondering if anyone has ever used them? what process should they be using to do a professional refurbish? i dont want the paint to start peeling off after a few months
  17. Under £300? just for one alloy? there is none on eBay at the moment but couple of times i've seen sets of 4 on ebay selling for £400. Does anybody know any good alloy refurbishing guys in the London area? one of my alloy wheel is also scuffed from kerb damage. I am not very convinced with alloy refurb though, thats why i need to find some good and relaible company (dont mind paying a bit extra) I've seen paint start peeling off or bubbling after a while on lots of peoples refurbished alloys. Also i assume when they respray the wheel they can never match the colour of the rest of the alloys or can they?
  18. Hey man, sorry to hear about your dent. I had a similar situation last week. I used a guy called "Dentman". He comes on his BMW motorbike does his magic takes your money and leaves. Very very good. I believe his basic charge is £85 + vat. I was only a short way from his office and he came the same day as my call to him. He does trade work for Lexus Twickenham so he knows the car well. If you use him tell him Philip from Sunbury referred him to you, hopefully next time i will get a fat discount . But on a serious note he is great. http://www.dentman.co.uk/ thanks for that, i'll give him a call
  19. Today i just realised that there is a small dent that looks like it was definitely hit by some other cars door. Must have been at a bay park. It cannot be noticed from nearby but if you look at it from a distance you can see this dent (like a big dimple on my cars door) does anyone know if there is any good reliable company in london that removes these minor dents? thanks
  20. few months ago i had the front of my car resprayed due to nasty stone chips, but there was a defect on the paintwork of the bumper so they took it in for 2 days to rectify it
  21. Does anyone know where the HID ballasts are located for OEM HID's? is it anywhere near the front bumper and if my front bumper was removed would the ballast be visible? reason I ask is I had my car in at the dealership's bodyshop and they had to take front bumper out for respray but since i got it back my lights are playing up. They just turn off after a few seconds. They say they didnt have to open the headlight as the bumper just comes out. So i am wondering if the ballast is near the bumper they could have maybe made a ballast connection lose or something. any comments would be appreciated. thanks
  22. I meant I might just order it online from here: http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/parts_det...97091&all=Y
  23. Thanks. might just place an order for the F-Sport Intake Kit then. How does it effect the emmisions? if you had an F-Sport intake and needed and MOT will it fail the emmisions test?
  24. By the way how is the F-Sport Air Filter cleaned? they have F-Sport Air Cleaning Kit available but how do you actually clean the filter? is there any special methods?
