  1. got my is-f grille. i've taken off my grille and did all the measurements and testing (photo below) alot of cutting and moulding is going to be involved to make it fit. Just finished ordering some glass fibre resin and sheets. It will be a time consuming task and i'm going to wait till next week to start it as i've got 2 weeks easter holidays from work.
  2. oh dear i've just been informed that i will have to wait until the 26th for the grille. Apparently Lexus GB dont have any stock of it and neither does any of the european warehouses. I'm told that it's now being delivered direct from Japan and hense the wait. I guess i aint in no hurry :)
  3. or if you've got windows 7 or vista, the version of MS Paint even resizes now. But if you've got XP then you can use VSO-Image Resizer, excellent free utility
  4. :D i'm not expecting it to be a nice easy swap :D i guess its best to expect the worst from all my research the grille is much wider for the is-f but i'm hope some trimming and customizing will do the trick
  5. I've ordered an IS-F grille which should be with me tomorrow. i'm going to test it out and see what kind of things is needed to make it fit
  6. thats terrible news Steve. hope everything works out for you. hope you'll continue contributing on this forum. You dont have to be an owner to contribute. specially with all the ones you've owned in the past and all the years experience. How much did the dealers and webuyanycar offer you if you dont mind me asking? have you considered listing it on eBay? you may get a good price for it on an ebay auction
  7. AFS is turned on and off in the menu where you set the rev tac etc.. Learn something every day :) once AFS is turned off, a light on the dash will stay on indicating that AFS is off
  8. AFS is turned on and off in the menu where you set the rev tac etc..
  9. I don't think anyone is trying to make it an isf and I hope we ain't offended the owner of this car. It's a very nice looking car and excellent colour choice. What I was trying to say is that it's disappointing that lexus make official fsport mods consisting of those brakes, alloys, intake etc and it's really a shame that they are not including these fsport accessories as standard on the fsport edition
  10. LOL... i think im going to place the order for the actual inner part of the isf grille and once i get that, i'll see how things go and if nessassary buy the moulding aswell
  11. I must also agree. If anything, Lexus should have put these F-Sport alloys and breaks that they sell in the US as part of the f-sport edition. Also i'm wondering if the f-sport edition comes with the lexus f-sport intake? or just the OEM IS250 ones?
  12. not too sure, i guess its worth a try. just waiting for a confirmation of the price for the ISF grille moulding
  13. original standard grille? do you mean on an IS250/220? or original for an ISF? its an original ISF one thats been wrapped. the outside shape of the moulding looks same as the OEM is250 but the inside shape doesnt. i think both the moulding and the inner grille might need to be swapped out to get a possible fit. the f-sport grill looks slightly bigger than the is-f grille. either way, whichever grille i decide to choose, both will need modifying. so i'm still deciding on whether i should get the isf grille or the fsport. i'm thinking isf coz its cheaper
  14. here are the prices for the F-Sport parts: GRILLE = £110.34 INC VAT GRILLE MOULDING= £41.74 INC VAT GRILLE EMBLEM= £20.39 INC VAT
  15. the grille consists of 3 parts, the actual chrome surround, the honeycomb grille, and the emblem. i guess you could technically get just the honeycomb part of the f-sport grille and customize that to fit into the chrome surround of a non-facelifted edition but there would be a lot of customizing to do. i think the dimensions are more close with the IS-F grille. Not too sure though, i'll find out soon :) Nope not in West London, i work there :)
  16. Parthiban is right the 09 grilles are curved outwards at the bottom and are slightly wider than the 06. Have a look at the diagram below. i'm placing my order for the IS-F grille sometime this week and will attempt to customize that to fit into the OEM moulding. i think there is a better chance of that working. If you want to use the F-Sport grille, then the best option i think is to get the 09 bumper aswell. bumper isnt very expensive but painting it might cost more than the bumper itself. Or you could approach a bodyshop and ask them to get the bumper for you and paint it, that way you may get the bumper slightly cheaper. Oh and Parthiban, Lexus Woodford is my dealer aswell, we're neighbours :D
  17. The F-Sport grille is a direct replacement for the facelifted IS250 and 220d. So if you've got a 2009 onwards facelifted IS250/220d then you can simply swap out the grilles. But if you've got a 2006-2009 edition then it wont fit without changing the bumper also. The 09+ models have a different bumper. My IS250 isnt the facelifted one, so i'm planning to get the IS-F grille and customise it to make it fit my existing moulding
  18. sorry for the delay in posting more photos, i've just been quite busy with other mods and havent got round to it yet. Will try and take pics after my car is washed this weekend (if weather is good) lexus0000, in reply to your questions: 1) The IS-F rear bumper is a direct fit on the IS250, 220 and 350. I'm not too sure about the facelifted 09 models though. I know for sure that the facelifted 09 models have slightly different size front bumper. 2) You can add the F-Sport exhaust system with no problem 3) You do not need to do anything extra with the parking sensors, you just directly swap them out from your old bumper. You must make sure you order the correct version of the bumper though. IS-F bumper comes either with holes for parking sensors or without holes. Depending on whether your car has parking sensors, you need to order the correct version. Both are exactly same price Hope that helps
  19. this is quite a common problem with the lexus. do not buy any cheap bulbs from eBay. the bulbs for the lexus you want is not D2S it is actually the new mercury free D4S bulbs. Assuming your car is still under warranty, the bulbs should be covered under the warranty. If however you do want to upgrade the bulb and go for some higher kelvin ones then the only reliable D4S bulbs out there at the moment I know are the Japanese made Garax Brand. With the other cheaper D4S bulbs, i have read many stories of peoples bulbs and ballasts burning out and in one particular case catching fire
  20. thanks for all the positive comments everyone :) once i get my camera sorted i will try and take some proper photos. these photos are just of the actual DIY and were all taken on my iPhone
  21. I didnt get it through them directly. I'm not too sure if they ship internationally for retail customers. I got it through a contact in Japan
