  1. meri_gadi, have you tried going into the diagnostics menu and adjusting the camera calibration from there? If you don't know how to get into that menu, follow these steps: 1) Make sure headlights are fully off 2) Turn on the engine 3) Press & Hold the INFO button on the NAV unit 4) Switch the parking lights on & off 3 times 5) Release the INFO button and you should be in the diagnostics menu Once you are in there, there is the section that lets you adjust and calibrate the camera
  2. I dont actually have the part number. You can either get that from the current one on your mirror or simply pop down to your local lexus dealership parts department. it's a part that they dont stock and they'll usually have to order it for you. If its not in any of the Lexus Europe warehouses then it would have to come directly from Japan which takes a week or so. Or if you want I can find out the part number for you.
  3. The integral indicator and clear plastic cover are a seperate part which cost £68. You do not have to strip out any part of the door to replace either the mirror or the indicator. Simply popout the mirror, remove some screws and the back cover of the mirror can be removed.
  4. yes give it a shot and dont forget to let us all know how it goes.
  5. yes you still have to remove the nav unit to access the wiring harness. it's actually simple to do. only difficult part in removing the nav unit is figuring out those 4 clips above the vent, just take your time and take it easy.
  6. When I did mine a few years ago, there was only one hack possible and that involved cutting wires. However, now TOM's makes a Plug & Play AV cable harness that simply plugs in and allows this and it costs £99 available from Prolex-UK. This option is better if you are not too confident about cutting wires. If you want to go down this route, then contact Dave at Prolex-UK. The website link for this product is here However, if you want to save yourself the money and are confident with the wire cutting method you can follow this step by step guide. This is the method that i used for mine and i've been using it for nearly 3 years now and all is good (knock on wood)
  7. I've had those falkens and found them to actually be extremely noisy compared to Protenzas, Toyos and Hankook K110 V12 Evo. Under £60? i guess that would depend on your wheel size. If you've got 17" then you can get the falkens for under £60 for the front wheels because they are 225/45/17 but the back wheels take 245/45/17 and they are a bit dearer
  8. I got myself a bargain from eBay for a boot-lid emblem for the hybrid versions which have the blue hue that reflects based on how much light is on it. At the dealerships I was quoted £116.05 inc vat. I paid a fraction of that so i'm quite happy with the bargain. Heres some pics. Let me know what you think
  9. they're both good tyres, it comes down to what suits you in terms of price i think
  10. i've had bridgstone protenzas but replaced them with toyo proxies T1R which were really good for their price and very silent in terms of road noise. Now i have HANKOOK K110 V12 EVO which are also very good and silent and excellent road grip
  11. i got my leds from v-leds.com and ebay H11 bulbs? H11 is for the low beam which would mean you dont have HID? if so then dont replace this with another H11 type bulb that gives you better colour because the visible light is going to be seriously effected. I mean yes you can get like PIAA spark blue 6000k bulbs and they will look really nice and blue. BUT.... at night you wont be able to see much. The visibility is terrible. My recommendation is that if you dont have factory HID, then fit an aftermarket HID kit for the IS250. XenonDepot.com are very reputable and i've used them many times. These replacement bulbs that have higher kelvin ratings are not really for replacing main low beams, they are more costmetic and used for things like high beam, fogs etc.
  12. Just completed my custom IS-F grille for my IS250. Note: The IS-F grille emblem is much wider than the f-sport grille emblem. Its more oval shaped. Heres what i did: * Trimmed the IS-F grille and made it fit inside the OEM chrome bezel of my IS250. * Did some plastic welding and bonded the two trims together with heavy duty polymer bonding glue from the rear side. * Sealed all gaps from rear side in preparation to pour liquid plastic from front side (hence sealing it from behind so the liquid plastic doesnt leak out) * Poured the 2 part liquid plastic polyurethane so that it seals all gaps and provides extra bonding. * Once liquid plastic set and became plastic, covered up with thin layer of plastic filler * Sanded filler down and once everything was ok proceeded with wet sanding and paint prep * Painted and clearcoated I'm quite happy with the result and I think the difference is very subtle but it makes a huge difference here are the photos. let me know what you all think Completed and Installed Photos: DIY Photos:
  13. Back in 2008 there was only the one available by Nav Tool. If i remember correctly i purchased it for $299 and the £ was very strong then so it worked out to around £165. But now this same product costs $450 plus the exchange rate isnt great. VAIS Tech do also make their own version and it seems to be much cheaper priced at only $249. But from what i can see on their documentation it doesnt support advanced features like the Nav Tool does. The Nav Tool gives you 2x Inputs, 1x Output (to go to any other external screens e.g. headrest monitors) and it also plays back the factory DVD video on to the external screens. Links to both of these products are below: VaisTech SL2Vu NavTool Interface
  14. For the parking lights i've tried 13SMT LEDs but now on 19SMTs which are much better. its all about preference. You could get SMTs or SMDs both are good.
  15. Do you mean the puddle lights under the mirror or the ones by the leg space? I've changed my mirror puddles lights. In order to get anything white colour you need to go for leds. the bulb type is 501 W5W 194. go for the SMD leds with a minimum of about 5 SMD LEDS per bulb for a good level of brightness Exactly same type of bulb as the puddle light. once again get yourself SMD leds but for the parking light you might want something much higher in terms of SMDs per bulb If you have HID system then you will have D4S, when you startup the car the AFS light on the dash will light up for a few seconds and then turn off (unless AFS is set to off). If no AFS light shows on the dash, then you do not have factory HID, which will mean its H11
  16. lol.... i'm working on that right this moment. should be done and installed by tuesday. will post once thats done
  17. Just completed my iphone integration mod, which is based on my original AV in car entertainment mod that I did back in 2008. Pictures and video are at the bottom of this intro Some of you may remember my thread back in 2008, where I installed an AV unit which gave me 2x AV inputs on my nav screen. I used AV1 as a double DVB Tuner and left AV2 in the glovebox for an auxilary input such as playstation etc. These AV units were also linked to the aftermarket headrest screens I installed. After over 2 years of usage, I decided to change things around for better practicality. The changes I did are: Moved Double DVB Tuner to AV2 Built a iPhone dock into the ashtray using Apple's AV Composite cable iPhone dock is now the new AV1 Created a new custom auxilary box under passenger seat that provides RCA connections to just the rear headrests only allowing the use of something like a playstation on back headrests only as a 3rd AV source with Infrared Headphones. This allows the driver to be using another AV source seperately. And finally, I decided to get rid of the aftermarket headrests as they rattle alot. Now i have integrated a 7" screen into my factory headrests.
  18. Welcome to LOC. the tyre pressure details should be in your user manual. i believe on 17" the PSI's are 38 for rear tyres and 35 for front. This in bars will be 2.62 bars for rear and 2.41 for fronts. in regards to auto-lock. their is a feature that auto-locks the car at 13mph and can unlock once placed back to park. this feature is part of the Lexus Personal Setting (LPS) and has to be enabled and setup by your dealers. Speed cameras are not a feature in many OEM sat navs and the answer to your question unfortunately is no the latest sat nav dvd would not have speed cameras. You must however be careful if you decide to buy the latest map, make sure you provide your version number to get a map that would work with your system. If speed cameras is an important feature for you. you could get those detection based speed camera alerting devices that just hide away in the glovebox or something and when you approach a camera it will beep at you. I dont think you actually need to see the camera on your nav screen. If there is something beeping at you telling you that a camera is approaching, then you can slow down in time.
  19. eBay. It's very cheap. heres a link for 3x energizers: 3 x ENERGIZER 1632 I bought a pack of energizer ones from there. Don't get cheap brands. It's easy to replace just use the mechanical key part insert it into that groove and twist
  20. sorry for late reply. answer to question is yes there is enough depth. i've started the grille modification and its a very time consuming task. lots of trimming and filing down needed. i've eventually decided to bond the grille directly to the chrome outer bezel. I think it can also be done with the f-sport grille. but i couldnt justify spending £25 extra on the f-sport grille. i've also just realised that the size of the is-f grille emblem is much wider than the original one and the f-sport one. so i've just ordered myself a new emblem to fit onto the grille which cost £22. i'm now waiting for some heavy duty bonding glue to arrive in the post. once that arrives, i need to filler up and neaten all edges, sand, wet sand and finally blend in with a paint job, and a final polish. i'll post pics once i'm done
  21. didnt you wonder what the extra button on your steering wheel was then? :D
  22. sorry for late reply, been quite busy havent had time to check back on here. the chrome outer bezel doesnt match up to the grille at all. the grille design is completely different. what i'm going to be attempting to do is use my existing grille and trim it out with a dremel to make a surround and then make the isf grille fit into that surround. this then should fit into the chrome bezel
