How to drain and flush??
-
Fog sir stav
-
I,ve had some blue cheap coolant in my is for some time, car has always run fine but I understand I should have the red long life coolant in.
How do I go about draining and refilling! Is it pretty straight forward with just draining out the old and putting new in?
Ps what coolant should go for?

Hey guys,
Just sourced a replacement headlight for £15 Inc postage it's in pretty good condition just has some sand in the lens, is there anyway to take the fog light apart to clear the lens?

Local car shop doesn't have these in, anyone any clues were to pick one up?

Recently fitted the iPod groom adapter and when I replace the seat warmer and traction control section the light is not coming on when when I press the TRC button? The button itself is working as it'd appearing on the dash but the bulb is not coming on? Are they easy to replace or could have I done something when installing the grom, I did notice a screw on top of the TRC button when you take it out of the surround that only turns halfway, does this have anything to do with it?

Wasnt too difficult to do,
Stage One
Took each wheel off one at a time. Gave them a good clean with detergent and some machine cleaner then used emery paper to get all the really bad crap off the wheel. I didnt have too many dints or gauges in the alloy but I just used a well known epoxy resin ( bodge) to fill any holes in, after the resin dried I just used wet and dry ( kit from Halfords that was on offer at the time) sanding to get the alloy as smooth as possible.
Stage Two
After the alloy was totally dry I masked the whole wheel up which was probably the most time consuming thing to do. Then used an undercoat primer just one coat. Then I used simoniz alloy wheel paint (cheapest I could find as I was just going to test it on the spare wheel at first), applied three coats allowing drying time inbetween of about 10 mins. After an hour I applied 2 coats of Laquer.
That was it job done I did two wheels in a day so drove around for one night with one side of the car looking a bit rough compared to the spanking new alloys on the other side . I will say however that I'm not 100% happy with the colour, thinking about trying it again with a better quality spray
Thanks mate so you just used spray straight out the tin? Also what grade wet n dry was it?
And one last thing did you leave wheels to dry in anywhere warm or just outside?

Hi mate no nothing before the snow, car is fully waxed and polished at least every 3 weeks.
-
More likely pigeons or seagulls :(
Don't think so as on both passenger doors and os wing and was visible when snow melted?
T cut the best idea?

Hey guys,
Around 4 weeks ago I finally decided to clean my car, first time it has been properly cleaned since the bad snow we had, after shampooing the car I noticed some cloudy marks and spots around the car so shampooed again but there was still there? I tried polishing them out and theyve slightly gone but are still visible, when I run my finger over them you can feel there are very smooth compared to the rest of the paintwork, I did have a lot of snow on my car before brushing it off, could the snow of caused these marks as that's the only thing I can think of?? And how should I try and get rid of the marks, any t-cut or colour restorer anyone could recomend??

Thats a pretty good diy job pal!
Can you post a bit of a guide with what you did regards sanding down, what type of wet n dry you used, did you also just spray them from a spray tin or an actual paint sprayer.
Will be much appreciated dude.

I've also had my passengers side fog light full of condensation, how is best to take it apart as the condensation looks to be on the inner round glass bit? The rubber groom that the bulb also slides into has disintegrated anyone know how to connect up a bulb securely without this? Or is it a case for a new fog light :(

SORTED! Found that if you turn the boot lock to the horizontal position this puts the boot in valet mode and can only be opened via the key not the lever! Yay
Thanks anyway mike :)
-
might be some thing stupid open the boot with the fob put the fob back in your pocket and zip it up ( trust me ) take the boot lining off and see if the cabe is still attached to the lock Mechanism
Hi mate just checked the wire is intact at both ends and is control the brass mechanism in the boot lid but for some reason it's just opening the boot catch? It looks as though it could be something to do with the connection between the brass mechanism and the actual catch? Any more ideas pal?
-
Hey guys,
As title suggests the boot release next to the petrol cap lever has stopped working, when I lift it I can hear it pulling at the back of the car but the boot is not coming up, boot lid works fine with the key fob but don't want to be turning off the engine every time I need to get into the boot, anybody else had an issue with lever and know how to fix? Is it something simple? Like me :P....

Has anyone tried the snow socks? Do they make a huge difference? And what size would I need, 225?
Im nearly going to leave the lexus and use public transport, it has been that bad with the snow!!! constant wheel spinning when just trying to get out of a parking spot, my colleagues x reg vw polo has been 50 times better than my lexi!! :(

Hey guys,
I've noticed my passenger side rear tyre slightly deflating over the past few days, after I filled it up I heard a slight hissing sound as I pulled the adapter out, it looks as though the inner tyre valve stem ( the gold thin valve thats in the middle of the actual valve) is slightly leaking, the actual valve that goes into the tyre wall is fine and not leaking just the thin gold valve in the middle, I heard you can replace these your self is it easy and has anyone done it before?

Hey guys,
My tax disc keeps coming away from my windscreen which is becoming increasingly annoying!! I've used everything double sided but no joy The only thing that really sticks well is the little sticky jelly things but I cant find them on sale anywhere. There was a small lexus pot of paint in the plastic tray over the spare wheel in the boot, i just assumed every car came with one.
