  1. Hi folks,

Its almost time for the GS300 to go, if she doesnt sell on the bay she will go in part exchange. I've come up with two final choices...

    either the merc:

    or zafira gsi

    zafira%20gsi%20turbo%20-%20used.jpg

I have driven them both and they are actually great cars, just cant decide between the two. i need big boot to lug stock around and with summer coming up i'll be needing alot of space. family cruiser is very important, and both come up the same on insurance and tax. the gsi is quick but unsettled, the cdi is just as brisk (just not on paper) and more stable...

    what would you choose?

  2. i had a zafira 1.6 as a cover vehicle for about 3 weeks. it was great. before driving i thought "what a load of ****" but it drives great! even whooped loads of cars through the city!

i would of got one, but i wanted the GSI (was out of budget then).

hope it doesnt let you down!

  3. we are refurbishing our house and have the same problem. before the bathroom taps were fine, ever since the new taps went on, the hot water pressure is about 1/10th of before. builders say we needed a pump, but i found it hard to understand as the previous taps were fine! the cold works fine, odd how the hot water needs a pump.

the electic shower showed low pressure and wouldnt work, called up thames water they came onto the road (did something) and the shower worked after.

  4. where i get 300miles out of 1 £70 tank!

That's exactly what I get from my IS200 auto so I think you're doing fine!

this is driving very lightly on the throttle. theres certain roads that deserve floor to the ground.

driving isnt fun anymore when your counting how many miles you get from a tank. watching other cars with smaller/bigger engines going faster and using less petrol than me takes the *****!

  5. slightly :offtopic: I went on Parkers and looked at the new tax brackets re IS300 and it only gave prices for cars registered after Oct '01 but they were available a few months before that, so does that mean the early ones won't be affected, despite being after march 01?

it must depend on the number plate, if its not a 51 plate, you should be ok (unless new tax laws go ahead)

as for MPG, my gs (same engine right?) does around 15-20mpg depending on how i drive. most at the moment is in traffic, where i get 300miles out of 1 £70 tank! and that £££ is going up everyday!!!! its no fun at all :(

  6. the lamp post is in front of the neighbors house, however we have a disabled post outside ours. if i park up at the lamp post on the road, i'd be in effect be taking up a car space which i do not want to do.

i can lock up on the disabled post and then just outside the disabled bay, but i've been told these posts come down easily? i've given it a shake and its pretty strong...

    would this post be ok?

  7. heyo!

when i get a scooter im thinking of padlocking it to the lamp post outside on the pavement....

question is, can i get ticketed for this? will they remove my scooter? theres not enough space at the front of the house to lock it up.

any suggestions? (its not allowed inside the house sadly, i wanted to park it up in my sisters room, but she's not keen on the idea)

  8. i fell off!

... we were practicing emergency stops in an astroturf area.... on the 4th go i locked up both wheels (was raining alot) and landed on my shoulder and skidded. was doing around 15mph at the time. the teacher originally said if someone falls they usually end it there and then due to shock.

i was ok and he agreed i'd be fine to carry on..... needless to say.....

    i

    PASSED ^_^

as for my arm and shoulder i cant lift anything heavy and it hurts like hell! its probably going to be worse tomorrow. going to get the deep heat out now

  9. hey

i've got my cbt tomorrow morning. (limehouse area please avoid unless you want some impressions of my face on your windscreen!)

does anyone have any tips? its been a long time since i've riden a bike (7 years ago on a manual dirt bike).

i'll be taking the cbt on an automatic so i can concentrate on the road...

my worst nightmare is failing on the site test. i've measured out roughly 20metres and can read it fine, but its the stupidest thing to fail on.

    im bricking it lol

  10. i've got P Zero's on mine at the moment. when they give up im going for a cheapy set of anything. i've had a couple of cars now and gone for the expensive stuff and cheapy. i've found theres no difference apart from how the pattern looks.

i use http://www.mytyres.co.uk to check prices. they also review tyres.

as you can see the expensive £148 bridgestones got 1.9 against the kenda £77 2.1 the kenda bettered the bridgestone on comfort and noise levels.
