  1. The SC430 is no match for the LS in terms of ride and comfort but it is just as reliable and it gets under your skin.
  2. Nice day out in the SC. It was a good see everyone.
  3. Hi Anthony, good to hear from you. We miss your posts and pics of scenic Yorkshire. Glyn's words say it all. You don't need a car to be part of the SC community.
  4. That's Anthony's car @Lexiguy
  5. It's very confusing, VSC seems to appear with almost every fault, as if to back up the CEL.🙃 The fault codes should confirm which of the sensors is faulty. If both banks are too rich or lean then it may be something else like the MAF sensor needs cleaning/replacing. There are so many O2 sensor codes. P01030, P1033, P1035, P1036, P1041, P0150, P01053, PO155, P0156 and more. Good code readers with reset capability tend to be expensive but they do save a lot of time and uncertainty.
  6. Unusual to need all 4. I think I've done 2 so far. The genuine sensors are Denso. I would use original equipment but Bosch or another decent make should be okay. Denso 89465-50120 £74 + shipping £15 Amayama £99 Euro Car parts. £247 ! Lexus Parts Direct
  7. I think you can just turn up but it's a simple matter to join the FB group and confirm.
  8. Work may get in the way yet but I said 'yes' to going. Haven't decided if I will do both days but I think some might benefit from my fault code reader / resetting tools so should make the effort really. Took the car to work today as the sun was out this morning, it still looks a bit tatty despite having the front wing and bumper repaired and painted. Rear spoiler was once very smooth but now it looks lumpy....the joys of fibreglass and filler.🙄
  9. Interesting, pretty sure it works correctly on the GS as the outline on the mirrors is very noticeable but not sure about the other 2.
  10. According to How many left. 595 LS460 SEL 2007 -2012 66 LS460 Luxury from 2012 13 LS460 F Sport from 2013 This shows the range https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?q=LEXUS+LS+ I was tempted by an F Sport recently but was surprised at the low equipment levels. No sunroof, no radar cruise, no heated steering wheel, no spare wheel.
  11. Stop the roof half way through the opening process to get access and it may be possible to get to the fixings. My lost build thread may have had more pics but there are a few in the shortened version here. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/112580-sc430-project/?&page=3#comments half way down page 3 and this vid shows how it is put together and how the mechanism functions. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RYttoTtctITry this
  12. I wonder if it fails due to lack of use? I don't have to manually adjust the mirrors very often but use the auto dipping function a lot (on all 3 cars) and I don't recall a single failure. They might need manually realigning after a thorough wash and polish where the glass just needs to be re-centred but otherwise I've found them to be useful and reliable.
  13. I use the Sprintbooster on the SC and the GS. It costs a lot more (around £150) but they do seem to be comparatively well made.
  14. Does the throttle controller have a mode that acts as an immobiliser? My Sprintboosters don't but I seem to remember at least one of the controllers have the feature.
  15. @Glyn Jennings easily solved with a winning prize at the June meet to help verify value at £20k. 🙂
  16. They look great, really suit the car.
  17. As Steve said earlier in the thread, if they are 67.1mm for Maserati then you need 67.1 to 60.1mm spigot rings to mount the wheels snuggly on the Lexus hub and the bolts should be M14 x1.5. so I think you will need the equivalent tapered nuts to fit them to the Lexus studs. Had a quick look at some Maserati specs Center Bore / Hub Bore: 67.1 mm Bolt Pattern (PCD): 5x114.3 (5x4.5) Wheel Fasteners: Lug bolts Thread Size: M14 x 1.5 SC430 Generation: Z40 [2001 .. 2010] Engine: 4.3 L, 3UZ-FE, V8 , Petrol Center Bore / Hub Bore: 60.1 mm Bolt Pattern (PCD): 5x114.3 (5x4.5) Wheel Fasteners: Lug nuts Thread Size: M12 x 1.5 Wheel Tightening Torque: 103 Nm
  18. Yes good for shows and photoshoots but too uncomfortable and risky on most of our roads. I eventually sacrificed a little bit of grip on wide 19s for comfort with the SC rubber. For touring and general use I wouldn't go bigger than 19s. it does make you wonder how harsh the ride is in other marques.
  19. .....and probably some spigot rings if the centre bore is 67.5mm? Very nice looking rims.
  20. I've only done it once and it was very tricky. Try this
  21. I don't ever recall a radio tuner failing so I suspect the coaxial cable isn't connected properly. The antenna may be going up and down but is there a good connection between the head unit and the aerial mast? I would unbolt the head unit to have a look at the connections, then try the radio with the aerial cable in and the cable out to see if it makes any difference. BBC Radio 2 around 88 to 91 usually has a strong signal.
  22. Definitely and curiously very few people caught on to just how good the earlier model Soarer was despite Clarkson's favourable review of it.
  23. .......but you are a rockstar .....in the classic car show world at least.😁 I've watched lots of Kelvin's youtube content. He really knows his stuff.
  24. Uncle Bob is our expert in Kent. In NZ for all things UZ there is Kelvin of the Car Tune Company. He doesn't have the same rockstar image as Bob but his vids are very good. Follow Kelvin
  25. An LS430 with 600k on it confirms that in the right hands the 3UZ is a very safe bet.
