  1. Going down to Bristol this weekend to see my son ..... it always seems to be raining in Bristol.
  2. I agree! That will be worth a great deal in 25 years!
  3. Alas I am not a speed merchant, I think it would be wasted on me to be honest. However, I did chase a Porsche in my LS400 and caught him up! I think he was a little surprised at my acceleration. I was in PWR mode.
  4. If you ever sell the IS-F, I think that every time you will look at these photos you will regret it!
  5. That is a wonderful dilemma to have to consider each morning!
  6. To be honest, I have never driven an old Mini. All I remember as a passenger was how large and stark the interior seemed. The bone jarring ride would not be for me. yes, it is and always will be a classic. Woyuld I swap a Mimi for my LS400 (soon to be a classic) NEVER!
  7. Provided it has a good service history, you can't really equate high mileage on Lexus cars with other makes. 100,000 miles and they are just run in!
  8. Do not take too much notice of adverts that say SE, as I have seen some SE-l's advertised as SE's and have the air suspension. Just forward of the gear lever, next to the heated seats buttons, will be a switch to change the suspension height if it has air suspension. Others may correct me if I am wrong.
  9. What would buy? £6,000 LS 400 with less than 50,000 miles or Mercedes-Benz S Class 5.0 S500L Limousine 4dr 2005 (55 reg) Limousine 88,000 miles Automatic 5.0L 302 bhp Petrol Fiat 500 HATCHBACK 1.2 Lounge 3dr [Start Stop] Low Insurance + £30 Road Tax 2013 Hatchback 24,330 miles Manual 1.2L Petrol
  10. Hope you find a solution Robert. That noise is very loud. Would the ABS make that noise when stationary?
  11. Robert, that makes me feel so much better! Having read your experience, I am prepared to admit to going all the way to Kilmarnock for a car for my daughter. It sounded superb, low mileage, old lady owner who had to give up driving, and well below usual price. When we got there ........ yes it was an old lady ........ but the car had been used by her grandson (for how long I had no idea) a complete heap inside, it stalled on the test drive and had real trouble getting it started again. However, we had a lovely journey there and back a talked a great deal. I would do it again but not travel so far!
  12. At my local woodyard today I saw a RX450h leave - in silence! Quite amazing.
  13. Let us know how the service went and costings if possible. Thanks.
  14. You cut me deep Martin! I do understand your thoughts, mine is nearly 20 years old but interestingly I am now not that bothered about gadgets. My main enjoyments when driving the car are the comfortable and quiet ride - the effortless acceleration on tap at any speed and the sound system. I rarely use any of the 20 year old gadgets I have on the LS400. I think I might be turning into my Dad! A bit worrying, as I remember selling him my 5 speed Galant and a couple of months afterwards, while driving with him I asked, "Why do you not put it in 5th gear?" "Has a got a 5th gear?" was his reply!
  15. This club and forum are a mine of useful information! So pleased I joined trhe Lexus club!
  16. What mileage do you have on the car Keith?
  17. My exact sentiments. The good fuel economy is the only plus side. My diesel is a liitle older, so I do not have the DPF, or EGR to worry about ...... I think!
  18. Got a lift back from the Lexus garage in a GS 300h - a very quiet car on electric and comfortable .......... just a thought??
