  1. Advice sought please. Anyone else had this problem? Wide range of prices. Was considering buying an 04 RX300 but it has a small power steering leak on a hose as an advisory on the MOT. Service history looks good but am a bit nervous if the potential cost is around £900! Any thoughts guys? Walk away? Or Worth a gamble?
  2. Naughty Irma!
  3. I think the level of service also depends if you are a regular customer - i.e. someone who is buying a new car at least every three years. My very small interaction with Lexus Canterbury was very good - I only bought a battery. Fitted free - coffee offered and a lift to town and A PICK-UP! Well worth the £80 odd pounds. I know a member on here who has an older LS400 and is very impressed with the service he has received from them. I have not had the courage, yet, to try them for parts or service.
  4. Amazing! You obviously used to do removals in a previous life!
  5. You lucky chap! Love the colour of the interior. That is a very stylish car ....... pity it only has two doors ........ but I think I might be able to live with it.
  6. I would love that Mehari! It goes against most of my gut instincts. French - open to the British elements - old - over priced - gaudy colour - rust bucket underneath the shiny paint. BUT ...... I still love it! Thank goodness I have a wife who keeps the password to Ebay auctions!
  7. A cable tie! Fantastic! This site and its members are awesome! AND I don't own a LS460!
  8. To save £3000, I would live with the gap and find a hack to stop it bouncing. The LS460 does not seem to be a car to own, when it is much older, to run on the "cheap" Having said that, compared with depreciation, £350 for brakes from a Lexus dealer is not horrendous - but £3000 for a glovebox.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. They are a hidden gem - mainly due to their reliability. You can keep most cars on the road if you throw enough money at them but to own the likes of some high end marques when they get older, you need deep pockets. It is luxury motoring at an affordable level. We all hope on here that the secret does not come out!
  10. Dean, I would be interested in your car history and whether you have owned a Lexus before? Comparing cars you have driven or owned, how do you rate the LS400, so far?
  11. You still have many miles of smiles ahead of you!
  12. Children have a strange effect on car buying. The ideal "car" is probably a VW T5 people carrier with the rear seats removed. You will always need/like more space. A few years ago I went to replace my Galant with a newer model. My wife saw the Mitsubisahi Space Wagon - and that was that! Hence the name and year!
  13. It has stopped raining now! Well here in East Kent anyway!
  14. Out of interest what mileage does it have?
  15. The best comeback I had, when mentioning a noise in the back of a car was, "Just turn the radio up!" At that point I gave up! When you buy a luxury vehicle it is very annoying to get rattles.
  16. Interesting that it is a left-hand drive. By the time I had read the owners manual and worked out all the options, I will probably be in my 6 pieces of chipboard!
  17. My friend had a Safari estate =- sublime ride, very close to the LS I believe.
  18. According to the old advert - you are not meant to even wash them! Look from 0:14
  19. On the subject of crashes - I was horrified by the state of the Minibus crash on the M1. Interested to know the opinions of peeps here about how "safe" is a minibus based on a van chassis? I do realise that a crash with two 40ton juggernaughts is not going to be good with any vehicle - but minibuses seem particularly vulnerable?
  20. What are the revs at tick over? This might not be relevant but my LS400 MK2 would stall at roundabouts - it was a dirty throttle body. Someone else may have other suggestions.
  21. My exact sentiments. I don't want the journey to end.
  22. You lucky fella! Hope you enjoy your trip as much as I have enjoyed driving my Lexus to Digger Land today!
  23. Thanks Steve - yes that is what I wanted to see - with and without the tray. Y Thanks.
