  1. Very sad for the owner however it happened. On a new car! Both my Lexus cars are on the aged side. If I were to replace I would question spending a lot of money. The traffic in my small town is getting worse ( parking is at a premium, especially at weekends) very busy and drivers are not that patient. Or am I just getting old and miserable?
  2. We are having a short break near Glastonbury and the change in temperature to Kent is very noticeable! Much cooler and the first decent sleep for quite a few nights. More on a Lexus theme, my RX300 drove beautifully and was a pleasure to be in even when stuck in traffic. Four occupants, a Labrador, large roof boot and she averaged 25 mpg. I know some people may blanch at that but it was worth every penny for such a wonderful comfortable drive.
  3. They are long cars, mine has sensors but only two! Well worth fitting imho. I like the gold badges but mine are silver.
  4. How would you compare Lexus engineering with the Mercedes you have worked on? You are doing a cracking job!
  5. I was under the impression you kept the green slip and the previous owner sends off the V5? Has as the procedure changed?
  6. Very interesting thread.
  7. Do all 450h models have air suspension? I am not familiar with this model only my RX300.
  8. That is a good point. See what you can get for £3,000 and compare it against an LS 400. I have just taken mine for a cruise to the Cotswolds. Did not break any speed limits and overall got 29 mpg on the computer (about right). Very few cars would have given us a better journey.
  9. Just given the old girl a clean before our trip to the Cotswolds! If you see a Champagne coloured LS 400 driving around the Cotswolds, it might be me!
  10. Around 1.00 pm. Only one LS 400 I know of in that area. That one is blue.
  11. Thanks Herbie! Just bought one!
  12. Just been flashed by a lovely looking jade green (Not sure of the correct name but Bluesman colour!) LS 400 on the Deal to Sandwich Road today. Was it you?
  13. I had a triple by-pass 4 years ago at St Thomas' Hospital. The care was first class and provided you don#t have any complications you should be out in 5 days. Follow their instructions to the letter - and you will be fine. You are not allowed to pick up anything heavier than a kettle! Follow that advice or you will suffer! Trust me! Interestingly the day before my diagnosis I bought the LS 400 - thought about selling it the next day! Glad I didn't! All the very best Graham.
  14. Presume you are having a heart by-pass? If so, you will have to suffer the frustration of not driving that lovely car for 6 weeks!
  15. They are STILL cracking looking cars. They have a subdued elegance. I know some will disagree but please remember ............ all other Lexus models started at the BEST!
  16. They are great cars .................... but there is a limit to what I would be prepared to pay. One way is to put £9,000 into AutoTrader and see what you get? I have owned many cars of various values over my driving career ......... the LS is by far the "BEST" car I have ever owned. NOT as practical as many .... but a cracking car to drive. Interestingly, you have to actually OWN one to fully appreciate how good they are. However, they are getting long in the tooth - would a 430 be a better option? Open for debate!
  17. Would be interesting to know what repairs have been done over that mileage.Even so what an incredible feat!
  18. I bought my replacement from Toyota - good price AND a good fit!
  19. If the problem persists I would be looking at warped discs. That cured my slight shake problem, which was intermittent.
