  1. Spot the Dog?
  2. I had to do over 100mph to get there and back in a day!
  3. PMSL! Phil, please be my brief at my next court appearance! I was telling the truth Malc! Thank you John for your technical defence on my part! It was on a closed private road in the Cotswolds!
  4. I know it! Damn! Can't remember! Fiat....................
  5. The Cross Climates have been praised by many members, so I thought I would take a punt. Just an update to the flat battery -discovered the rear power door would not open! After reading the horror stories on here, I was NOT a happy bunny, As has been noted, the door will not open manually. Gutted, was my first reaction. After locking the doors and unlocking it came back to life! Phew!
  6. Correct sir!
  7. The one with the foam! Not a Space Wagon!
  8. Bridgestones. The vibration at 80 mph has now gone away! The tyres were over 5 years old and grazing on the side walls. They cost £118 each with fitting/balancing/tyre disposal. Very please so far, though to be honest, I can't feel any difference in the ride quality.
  9. Bought 4 of these today from Kwik Fit. Heart in my mouth to be honest. All went well until they tried to start the car! Flat battery! Doh! Managed to start with a slave battery - no warning lights. You get 15% discount if you buy 4.or more. Best price I could find in my area. Off for a run to check the balancing and charge the battery a little. Will be on the trickle charge tonight.
  10. Try owning a RED car - they seem to love bombing that colour!
  11. Hopefully I will pass next time!
  12. I had a Hyundai Stellar many years ago and had to park it under a tree. The bird droppings were terrible, as I was very busy at the time I left them for a couple of weeks. They actually "burnt" through the paintwork. Fortunately the car was still under warranty and Hyundai were determined that their first cars were not going to get a bad reputation for rust / paint defects and paid for the roof respray.
  13. Before you set off on a journey, do any of you have a particular routine, akin to a pilot checking the external parts of his aircraft? Yesterday, I backed off my drive to the most horrible grinding sound from the rear. I immediately pulled back onto the drive and inspected the rear end (the car’s rear end not mine!). The nearside rear tyre was flat, a wonderful screw neatly placed in the centre! It occurred to me that I should have checked the car before setting off. It is not always apparent that one tyre may have a slow puncture, in my case it was flat. Do any of you have a routine before setting off or a quirky habit you always follow before leaving home? In future, I will be taking a look at the tyres each day before driving the vehicle.
  14. Can you post some photos of your car please?
  15. Excellent description Herbie! See! You don't need to read the handbook!
  16. Thanks Vlad, I will check the handbook!
  17. I also find the gold does not show the dirt. It is even better than the silver for hiding marks.
  18. Can you recommend one Vlad?
  19. Probably taken off YouTube for some reason.
  20. Has anyone else had this issue? Is this just a Nextbase problem or do other dashcams cause this?
  21. I currently (not my choice) have both models, RX300 and RX400h. Is your RX a series 1 or 2? Your mpg figure for your RX300 does not surprise me. You will get better mpg from the 400h. For comparison, I am getting roughly 17 mpg for local town work of less than 2 miles. The 400h does about 24 mpg. My advice (from experience) would be to keep the RX300 and use the £4,000 to run it. If your RX300 is sound then .............. "Better the devil you know" If someone was migrating from another make to a Lexus RX, then I would recommend the 400h over the RX300. Work out your mileage and see how much EXTRA the 300 will cost you. The psychological difficulty is seeing/working out the mpg as you fill up. In terms of money, you would be spending approximately £1,150 more for fuel every 12,000 miles. That would take you about 4 years to break even - 7 years if you did 6,000 miles a year. The 400h's are reliable but issues aside from the battery can be costly. What would appear economic sense is not necessarily what we would actually LIKE to do! Please let us know what you decide to do. Your decision is the right one for you.
  22. Good post John
  23. I believe when you hit 80 your premium really goes up.
