  1. A very interesting thread, that IS 300h owners should read.
  2. Turn this around. If you were looking for a 2018 RX Sport with 16,500 miles, would you buy one for £29,000? In other words, would you buy your car now for £29,000?
  3. Correction: Am I correct? Not I am correct? As I do not know!
  4. I am correct in assuming the 2021 NX will have the same 2.5 engine (new Toyota Dymanic Force) as the ES?
  5. The theme music by Johnney Flynn is wonderful.
  6. A modern series which I found wonderful was the Detectorists with Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones. Brilliant character acting with humour but also pathos.
  7. That is one of the funniest lines. Phillip Madoc was brilliant as the German submarine officer. Yes wonderful gentle humour.
  8. "We live in a beautiful country Wilson. We shan't let them have it you know!"
  9. That is a cracking thread thank you! We love photos and you have provided a wonderful display. What a cracking car.
  10. My concern would be, it has been left in a garden. If that was on long grass, rust underneath will be an issue.
  11. Audio and connected services seem to be very important to a few purchasers from some of the posts I have read on here. I enjoy listening to the radio and music but I am not an audiophile. As Herbie says, it is a question of personal tolerance. I do find it somewhat perplexing that you buy a car based on the audio system. There are so many variables in a car - speed - road surface noise - tyres - that I do not think it is necessarily the best place to listen to wonderful music. To build a car around an audio system, seems somewhat odd. As Herbie said, unless there is a fault with the ML system, I would say his 1% to 99% could be changed to 10% / 90%. The car is being bought to transport you from A to B not place you in the Albert Hall.
  12. Interestingly there are older cars for sale in Lexus dealerships. I think it was Sidcup had an RX 300 for sale! Not sure what sort of warranty came with it, possibly just a 1 year one?
  13. https://www.lexus.co.uk/car-models/ Top right on this link is an icon of human - click that and you can sign-up.
  14. When was the service book last stamped Howard? If it has not been stamped,. does not necessarily mean it has not been serviced but might give you an indication of when the last service was done by the previous owner. Like Peter suggests sign up to MY LEXUS.
  15. Look in the RX450h forum and you will see lots of posts on the 450h. Personally, I would avoid the SE-L as it has air suspension.
  16. When main dealerships make mistakes like that it does not fill you with much confidence. That would finish me with that dealership. I am not mechanically minded but I do wonder if any damage has been caused by their inept workmanship.
  17. Flat red paint fades to pink. There is no telling how quickly this will happen. I have seen older red cars that look immaculate. Spoke to a chap who had a Rover 200 and asked him if he kept it in a garage. He kept it outside and only washed it - no special wax. The make of car seems to make no difference. The pigments in red paint are susceptible to damage from sunlight. I had a lovely (!) red Mitsubishi Galant where the paint faded. I took it to a body shop to get a quote for polishing. The owner was very honest with me. He said that he could buff out the faded paint but unless I kept in the the garage AND did not take it out in sunlight it would fade again in about 3 months! That and lack of aircon persuaded me to trade the car in. To be honest Howard, black does look fantastic but only when it is clean!
  18. A common issue with red metallic cars. Flat red paint is even worse! I would not buy, red, black or white cars.
  19. My father-in -law had a 1976 Granada - what a lemon! Rust everywhere -, clutch change and slap in the transmission. A real dog. No thank you!
  20. I was thinking of something more basic but Dacia have sold quite a few vehicles. Spoke to a guy who was buying his third Duster - he thought they were reliable and did what it said on the tin! I have also read about reliability issues, particularly with the petrol versions. It is Renault based ..... enough said!
