  1. I did! Confused.com I presumed the extended warranty would be at most the Relax level or worse?
  2. Basically for around £10 a week you get the Lexus Relax warranty provided your car is over 10 years old and under 150,000 miles - renewable annually, possibly unless they spot a major issue coming up? Am I being cynical? £10 - The price of two coffees in London - with cream!
  3. What is it? Do sales people get so many tyre kickers that even they lose interest? Is there no incentive for them to sell cars? Seems to be me that some people are in the wrong job!
  4. I have even seen one on Line of Duty and Doc Martin!
  5. I find the 400h quite comfortable, so the 450h is leagues ahead - then it must be good.
  6. Quite frankly everything I have read would not put me off buying an IS/300h! If it is just a case of buying a small jump starter for the odd occasion the battery goes flat then as far as I am concerned no worries. Others can buy a Mercedes or BMW and not have to worry about their battery reliability - they just have to worry about everything else on their car! Yes, it is an issue, but not insurmountable.
  7. I still have the Esso (?) coin set from 1970 - not worth much I expect!
  8. I do not have much faith in Pickford. He has made some excellent shaves but also some silly mistakes. Whenever they pass back to him, I have my heart in my mouth. The cynical fouls are part of the modern game. Regarding shirt pulling, I am surprised they have not gone over to tight Lycra fitting shirts that would be difficult to grab. The game is far better than in the days of Bremner, Harris, Tommy Smith et al. The fouls then were career breaking. The card system should be used more for such cynical fouls.
  9. I am just so pleased we are actually in a final at last! Suffering with hangover today, but very pleased for all England fans. Yes, we can beat Italy, we can rise to the occasion!
  10. Can I ask Phil out of interest what glovebox battery charger use?
  11. The 400h wheel nuts are quite long. Watch the length if you are buying a set.
  12. World Cup in Italy was the time I thought we could do it. Italy will be a tough nut to crack as they are masters of the dark arts. That was a fantastic game to watch tonight. It had everything. I thought the refereeing was excellent. In fact all the games I have watched the officials have been very good at letting the game flow! Heart in mouth tomorrow!
  13. My wife had a portable cassette player on the passenger seat in her Mk1 Cortina. Sorry, just saying!
  14. Normal cruise control on fairly busy motorways is a waste of time. The new radar cruise, though I have never tried it, seems more suited to our busier motorways. I would like to try that one day, however I am becoming a tad weary of “gadgets” just for the sake of them. The small house we are renting in Sussex has more gizmos than a Tesla! The blind in the bedroom is electrically operated with a remote control. My wife loves it! My comment was: “Something else to go wrong! Why can’t people just pull a cord?” Thinking of cars and “gadgets” My 1998 LS400 has nearly all the extras I need in a car. Hidden safety features aside, abs, air bags, VSC, etc. The only thing I can think of adding would be folding electric mirrors. Probably to do with age. Do any of you guys have gadgets in your car that you would be loath to give up?
  15. The 2.0 litre Corolla hybrid estate is a very nice looking car with a good engine. It would be a car to tempt me away from Lexus in the future. Used of course!
  16. No offence taken - surprised it is a real car. Wonderful work but not to everyone’s taste.
  17. My front fogs on a car were not working but I was told it was not part of the Mot! This may have changed in the last 4 years?
  18. If it looked like that I would sack the Lexus designer!
  19. Is this procedure potentially dangerous? If you don’t know what you are doing?
  20. Thank you guys! Yes a lovely 75 mile drive through beautiful Kent and Sussex. 26 mpg on the computer, the wife commented what a smooth ride it was!
  21. I am in the process of spraying my LS 400 alloys myself. A member with a GS did it himself and it looked really good. Obviously it will not be back to factory level but for the cost of a few cans of paint I thought I would give it a go.
  22. Thank you! Not going far, two hour drive but I thought I would take the LS 400 as we do not have the dog. As I said Herbie, I forgot about the Battery Trick! I did speak very nicely to the old girl and told her not to worry! It is amazing how these cars repair themselves given a little help.
