  1. Gave the LS 400 a 36 mile run today (Covid Vaccine) and the air con was ice cold. My daughter commented how smooth the suspension was!
  2. Exactly my sentiments!
  3. I am not mechanically minded so I have no idea what is wrong but even I can tell it does not look good!
  4. Go by ferry - much more civilised!
  5. Exactly my sentiments! Driving in France - even on the WRONG side of the road - is such a pleasure! I have driven in France, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Hungary. In France you can drive for miles on large main roads and not see another car for miles and miles. Motoring Nivana!
  6. I think a big driver towards adopting electric is the psychological effect of getting approximately 150 miles to a gallon equivalent. I do understand the real economics of initial cost outweighing the overall cost of owning such a vehicle. Do not underestimate the "psychological" effect of superior mpg. The cost of running a 4 litre petrol engine on a relatively cheap car changes the REAL costs of ownership, depending how much mileage is covered in a year. But when it comes to filling up at not far off £100 for the LS 400 then something in the brain does go "ping" even if the REAL economics make it viable. There have been many threads on the forums about mpg - which considering the cost of buying a new Lexus pails into insignificance. But it is still very important to people even if the total economics do not add up. Just my thoughts.
  7. Reluctance might be a better word to use than negativity. Electric cars still have their downsides at present. Don't get me wrong, I would have an electric car if it fitted all my requirements - cost being the main stumbling block! I have Yorkshire in me!
  8. I like the red interior it goes well with the white paintwork.
  9. Not really - if they use cloned plates the ANPR cameras will not detect it. There is a company that tracks cars and posts their recovery online.
  10. Thne 450h is bigger than the RAV 4 I believe and more luxurious. The NX is closer to the RAV4 in size and engine.
  11. Even if at first you do not like a car, they can grow on you. I hated the design of the Toyota C-HR when I first saw it but it is now growing on me. Not that I would buy such a small car. The negativity towards electric cars will subside when they become more popular. I have nothing against electric cars except range, price AND lack of certain body types.
  12. Back in the day, I remember, many young lads would actually raise the rear suspension, especially Capri's. Now they lower them! Fashion is a movable feast.
  13. Zero depreciation is a major factor in the economics of owning a car. Compared with new car depreciation. some major Lexus repairs are chicken feed.
  14. Cracking story! Amazing they found it out.
  15. Congratulations in joining the Lexus clan! You have achieved the peak! A Lexus LS400 - the ORIGINAL - the BEST!
  16. I was teasing you John! Just don't mention ................ THE HANDBOOK!
  17. Purchase the car, please let us all know what you thin k of it. Thanks
  18. Please don't threaten him with a test john!
  19. Have you tried disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery? It worked for my problem, thanks to Herbie!
  20. Even with those issues it is a good buy. Once they are sorted you will have a very good low mileage car.
  21. People seem to be in two camps here. Provided the car has been serviced annually, I would have no hesitation in buying such a low mileage car. The wear and tear on most components will be minimal. Like Radu, others will feel the opposite. I have never been keen on buying a younger high mileage car - I would always plump for a low mileage older car. You pays your money............
  22. Sophia Loren! Stop it John! I am starting to get excited and it is still daylight!
  23. Depending ion how much you are paying for the car, I would go for it. My only concern would be the air suspension. With such a low mileage it might not be such a risk - others may disagree.
