  1. Good spot Rowley. Interestingly, I was told that Steven Eagell Lexus dealers have more freedom to offer older cars for sale compared with Marshalls - not sure about Edgware (?)
  2. It has a good MOT history - if it comes with a Lexus 1 year warranty then it could be a good buy. Top price but you should get the reassurance of a Lexus warranty.
  3. Whippets? We use Corgis down south!
  4. Just remember, the big NO! NO! is that you can't jump another car with your hybrid!
  5. The whole system is very clever - if you monitor the energy usage you can get the ICE and Battery to be working at the same time to propel the car. Lexus cars waft along very nicely without the need for haste. My driving is slower compared with other cars I have driven. I try to keep in the economy section when accelerating - much slower to build up speed. The CVT gearbox does not lend itself toi being thrashed.
  6. Somewhat surprised the Honda does not tow your trailer well?
  7. To admire and sit in a car that has been extremely well prepared is, in my opinion, lovely. It is all about enjoyment. If you enjoy detailing your car and you get the pleasure of the finished product then well done. If you pay someone else to do the hard work and enjoy the result then good for you! I have spent many hours in my younger days cleaning and polishing my cars. I still do my own car but not to the extent I once did.
  8. The LS400's DO mend themselves! People don't belive it but they do!
  9. QUOTE: Triumph Herald convertible was my first car and having that freedom at 18 is hard to beat The first 6 months of having a license and a car to drive beats everything since to be honest. Driving Dad's Mk2 Cortina 1300 and then owning my first car, Ford Anglia 105E(?) 995cc (£50 - watching the road fly beneath my feet through the rust holes!
  10. I could not agree more! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
  11. Wow! I thought only the LS 400 did that!
  12. Financial tip (insider trading probably!) BOILER SUITS They are the future of clothing!
  13. Basically an upgraded starter motor. I understand hybrids do not have a starter motor.
  14. I too would not like to go back to a manual gearbox. A few years ago I would never have considered an automatic, considering it took the fun out of driving. Now in my more mature years I have completely changed my opinion. The motoring world has changed and driving is not as relaxing, especially in built-up areas. The hybrid system on Lexus cars is incredibly clever - it never fails to amaze me. Battery to Wheels / Engine to Wheels / Engine to Battery / Wheels to Battery Battery and Engine to Wheels! Just so clever. I would have considered it almost impossible, back in the 1970's, to get 45 mpg out of a 2.5 litre engine!
  15. My initial thoughts about Stop/Start was that the starter motor must take quite a hammering! Am I correct?
  16. I have used the DVLA website.
  17. Anything to do with Sunroof drain holes blocked?
  18. Took a friend from Kent to Essex and back, for him to buy a car (don't ask the make or model!). My LS 400 averaged 32 mpg over 175 miles. He commented what a comfortable car the LS 400 was to ride in! I could not agree with him more!
  19. Seriously, car manufacturers could save money and not fit them! I use Google maps and when that is interupted I open a map!
  20. I wish my undercarriage was viginal!
  21. The steering on my NX300h feels heavier than my LS400. It depends what you have been driving previously? Some cars have very light steering. More modern Lexus cars seem to be more weighted. I stand to be corrected!
  22. An article in The Telegraph, suggests Toyota have abondoned hydrogen in favour of new battery technology. In the Japan Mobility Show all the Toyota and Lexus cars on show were electric. Anyone else seen the areticle?
  23. MOT gives bodywork / corrosion issues and oil leak - no MOT yet. 276,000 miles - quite fantastic condition considering the mileage.
  24. The listing will have gone by now, over 6 months later.
