  1. Sounds are made when objects vibrate. If there is a void under that piece of trim it will amplify the sound. My thoughts are if you can access underneath that trim, and if it is a void, you might be able to stuff in some sponge to deaden the sound. I am sure someone will come along who will know what is underneath or how you can access it. Just my thoughts. My leather seats rub and make a noise - because I know what the problem is, it does not worry me that much. When you can't find the issue it does tend to drive you crazy!
  2. This is what this club is all about! Helping fellow Lexus owners!
  3. Could it be possible that you have made a mistake? The attitude of the manager would suggest he has something to hide. 200 miles is some distance to be put on a car - how long was your car with the dealer? A day for a service?
  4. Yes, they are thirsty - but you were aware of that before you bought your car.
  5. Can you post a photo of the damage - some peeps on here may have more options if they can see what it is like.
  6. I have done the same a few years ago. I had to do mine through insurance as the door was creased around the crash bar. Very annoying indeed, especially as your car is fairly new. Not the end of the world but I do feel your pain.
  7. Tariq, at the beginning you were filming with your backs to the light, makes it difficult to see your faces clearly. Constructive suggestion.
  8. Sadly (again!) it is all down to geography and species of flies. Look at where all the peeps are having this problem? The flies here in the south are not attracted to silver cars. It is only you northern monkeys (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) that are having this problem. As Phil suggests, it may have something to do with s**t! Here in the south the flies behave themselves!
  9. Exactly the same on the coast of Kent. Modern end-of terrace three bedroom house sold for £300,000! Crazy! London folks, who have a weekend place in my town are selling - to buy a bigger place in the area! Working from home, High speed train service - all contribute.
  10. Sadly, scientifically, you have not look carefully at all the variables! It is obvious why flies are attracted to your silver cars. I have a silver car - no flies??? Can you work out why? Clue: Geography
  11. No Phil - I never sing solo or in a group.
  12. You are going to get over 40 mpg overall from what I have read. Considering what you are going to pay for 2018 car I would think you will be satisfied - especially compared with your GS.
  13. Interesting that medium and large SUV's are about the same.
  14. Oh dear, I have the feeling this is going to be a long thread!
  15. Sometimes, I even get some of the paint on the walls!
  16. Many years ago I bought a Skoda Felicia for my daughter. I could not believe how uncomfortable the seats were. There was no adjustment that worked and after 20 miles my back ached like hell. My daughter has a bad back and she loved her Beetle's firm seats - she likes the Lexus as well thank goodness! Unless you have driven a car for an extended period it is difficult to judge on a short test drive. Again a few years ago I drove an Audi 80 - it had off-set pedals - it was like steering from the right but operating the pedals from the left! So I have sympathy for your choice in cars Ed. If you get in, adjust the seat and it still does not feel right, then it is probably NOT the car for you.
  17. Brilliant Phil - just too subtle for me!
  18. Phil, I wish you would communicate in basic English! Your posts are far too subtle for me!
  19. I bought some good paint brushes from there!
  20. Hip point? This is measured from the ground to where exactly? The middle of the hip of the person? I would have thought a measurement to the seat was more accurate, as people are different sizes? Possibly I am missing something?
