  1. This one, from Halfords, is cheaper and works well. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/pressure-washer-accessories/karcher-pressure-washer-foam-spray-nozzle-112221.html
  2. Brilliant! We love photos! Especially of members cars!
  3. When I find the 35mm slides I will try and scan some to show some photos of the journey. We went over the Grossglockner Pass and boiled-up on the first hairpin bend! Not surprising, with four adults and four children plus camping gear!
  4. John, that has brought back wonderful memories for me. When I passed my test in 1974, my father had a Ford 400E for his small holding. I drove it for over year. It had the 3 speed box (column change the same). My uncle, who was in partnership with my father, worked for Rediffusion. He had an option to buy the vans they were getting rid of. My father worked for the local bus company and he was able to get old bus seats. My uncle fitted out the 400E (1963?) with bench seats and a home made roof rack. We joined him and his family for a holiday in Yugoslavia, camping. $ adults and 4 children - no seat belts - no ABS - no air conditioning. All the way to Porec on the Istra peninsula. It took us three days to get there and 3 days back. 8 days on the campsite! An experience few people can contemplate, at the time it was done.
  5. If the size related to skirt length, I would not be impressed!
  6. If the car was laid up why would they bother with oil changes?
  7. Are you familiar with the book Small is Beautiful by E.F. Schumacher? Written in 1973 I believe(?)
  8. The only down side to tidal energy is the initial cost. The large one they have just opened has been designed so that maintenance is much cheaper. Very impressive design.
  9. My RX 400h passed its MOT - advisories on brake pads and discs, so getting that done next week.
  10. That is exactly wat I found. Even if I drove like Miss Daisy, the consumption did not seem to improve - Average 22 mpg for mixed driving. My 400h averages 30mpg. In £ terms, I save about £18 over 250 miles with my 400h compared with my RX 300.
  11. Joking all aside John, I taught my old dog to read! If I can find it I will post the video!
  12. I bought my first MPV and subsequent SUV’s for the dog!
  13. With all due respect, you were told more than once about the fuel consumption. Either you did not read the replies to your enquiries or you ignored the advice. Quite frankly I do not have a lot of sympathy for your lack of knowledge. You were given advice by members on here. In the end your post was blocked BECAUSE you were asking the same question. You need to think carefully before you post, otherwise members will ignore you.
  14. What a lovely car! You are very lucky - I hope you enjoy the Lexus experience!
  15. Yes I fully understand that but that does not give you a comparison between cars. Petrol has gone up (at current in price. If petrol drops in price your fuel consumption does not change! If a car does 22 mpg and another car does 30 mpg the extra cost depends on the price of fuel. I have explained that for 250 miles you will pay £18 more than me with a 400h, at current prices. If the price of petrol goes down you will pay less than £18 every fill up. Are you regretting buying the RX300?
  16. 28 if you drive steadily. I have never been able to get 30 mpg out of my old RX 300.
  17. Yes that is the official figure for urban driving.
  18. Linas - with age comes wisdom young Grasshopper!
  19. The urban mpg for the RX 300 is 16.1 mpg (?)
  20. Fill the petrol tank. Set the trip tp 0. When the tank is nearly empty go to fill up. At the petrol station write down the mileage from the trip example 270 miles. Write down the number of litres it takes to fill the car again - Example 63 litres. On your phone calculator divide the number of litres by 4.54, that gives you the amount in gallons. In my example 63 divided by 4.54 = 13.87 gallons. Divide your mileage by the number of gallons. In my example 270 divided by 13.87 = 19.46 miles for each gallon of fuel. i.e. around 19 mpg - miles per gallon.
  21. Members like to see photos of other members cars. It is sort of giving back something, Like saying "Thank you!" for the help and advice you have been given. We ALL love photos of Lexus cars!
  22. 270 miles if I remember correctly. How about posting some photos of your car please?
  23. You should not have been shocked, you were made well aware of the mpg figures before you bought the car. Your shock is the cost of fuel! I have just filled my LS400 - it was not empty - and it came to £84. The mpg for a vehicle is fairly constant depending on the journey. The only upside is if petrol is cheap. Over 250 miles you will be paying around £18 MORE than I am with a RX 400. Based on 22 mpg vs 30 mpg. Have you actually worked out the mpg? I was generally getting 22 mpg overall. On a long run, the best I got was 28 mpg. If you convert your car to LPG then you can achieve over 30 mpg equivalent. look back on Sorcerers post. I can't remember but I think it was Herbie or John who worked out the cost per mile:- RX 300 petrol 23p RX 400h petrol hybrid 18p RX 300 LPG 13p Not sure what the price of petrol was then but it gives you the difference. Wprk out how long it will take to save £2000 and that is around the cost of a good conversion. That is the break even point. after that you are in pocket. Answer this question: Will my RX 300 last that long? PROBABLY! 90% sure if I stick my neck out! I am sure Royoftherovers will chop it off!
  24. Let us know how you get on with your Tesla.
