  1. Lovely! Same colour as mine - please enjoy this wonderful dinosaur before they become extinct!
  2. No more Viagra for me! Off to buy a bike!
  3. Compared to the cost of the car, £96 does not seem much. You may find it a pain, in the end, having to get your lead out of the boot and connect two plugs? Just a thought?
  4. I think the annoyance is seeing the cyclist jumping a red light.
  5. I wonder if it is more to do with the way a car is driven? If you floor my 400h, then the revs do go high for a short period, as with all CVT transmissions. The smaller the engine, the more this is pronounced? The sensation of the CVT transmission, when under load, is like a manual car's clutch slipping. I was just wondering if it gives the impression, to someone not familiar with the CVT, that power is being wasted? The 0-60 times of course challenge that false assumption.
  6. I hope this is just a blip and you find Lexus a satisfying ownership. Yes, it is very disappointing but failures on components do occur even in a Lexus! Good luck. May I ask which dealership you used?
  7. The debate continues! Tesla have gained from the BIK company car market. If, and only IF, you were spending your own money on a three-year-old car - would you buy a Tesla?
  8. Your persistence and resilience is brilliant. If my old girl starts to play up, I will be making a trip "t'up North" to see you! Beer tokens in pocket of course!
  9. The guy showed me the car and explained what he found - not good. Sadly it does not give you confidence in a dealership, as you pay a premium price for hopefully a well looked after example.
  10. I will try Waze and persevere with Google maps as well. The current state of the traffic is a bonus on our busy roads. Thanks
  11. I still carry a map "just in cases" but I use a TomTom. I have found Google maps difficult to use for some reason. Google maps are very useful for showing busy / closed roads though. Perhaps I should persevere!
  12. An approved car from Motorline needs as much due diligence as from Arthur Daly it seems. Very disappointing as they are my local dealership. I heard of a similar issue with the Tonbridge dealership. Who the hell can you trust?
  13. Sorry Steve, not familiar with cars under 15 years old! Is it a Yaris Sporty thing?
  14. Took the LS 400 for a day trip from East Kent to Didcot Railway Centre to see the first train to be pulled by the refurbished Pendennis Castle 4079. Lovely weather and a pleasure to visit Didcot. The LS 400 returned 30 mpg for the journey (on computer but reasonably accurate) so I was really pleased. Longer journeys in this car are wonderful. Smooth ride, power when needed. Genuinely nothing to complain about, apart from the closure of the M4!
  15. That was my thought. Tyre changers do not always check if the weights they add foul the caliper. The clearance on the LS 400 is very small.
  16. My father-in-law had a 1973 Rover P6 3500S - S meant manual. He was driving well over the limit (90mph) on the A2 near Canterbury, when he saw another P6 V8 overtake him. No markings but Police Stop! in the headrests lit up! He pulled over and wound down his window as the policeman slowly approached. The conversation went:- Policeman: Nice car sir. Driver: I thought so until a few moments ago! Policeman: These cars can be trained to do 70 sir!
  17. Sorry if I have missed a post but did you buy it from a Lexus dealership? Gatwick?
  18. Good luck with your search Mark. Not the best time to buy a car but needs must. How long have you owned the RX and what mileage out of interest?
  19. I have read on this forum a few issues with the throttle body. Once cleaned the issue seems to be cured. Somewhere on here there is a thread on how to clean the throttle body.
