  1. If I were to go for a convertible then I would probably have to go for the SC430. The cost of repairs /parts would concern me.
  2. The inside opinion appears it to be a good thing. Marshall grouyp are part of a bigger organisation that have large stakes in Cinch or WBAC (?) and British Car Auctions. Lexus UK were not happy about newer stock appearing on non-dealer sites like Cinch. As Nick says - time will tell.
  3. Comparing boot liners is very misleading. The NX appears to be only slightly smaller than the 400h. In fact the NX is a lot smaller. The seats in the RX400h can be moved forward. The under storage area is also bigger. If you want a BIG boot then buy the 450h-L!
  4. Have you had any issues with your ES? That is a big mileage in 2 years!
  5. The lights on my RX300 were very good. But the 400h I owned was poor, even after a lens buff. No comparison compared to the excellent LED's they now fit.
  6. You make a very interesting point here Pete. I am not saying go back to the 1960's cars but the technology now available - is it really necessary? I hope to do a review of my LS 400 as some point and I will make some comparisons with my NX300h. The tech, if you are not careful, can be more distracting than helpful. I never use the infotainment screen / menu etc while driving. Fortunately, on the NX, there are buttons for the most useful and used instruments. I can imagine the younger members of our Lexus community may not agree.
  7. Sadly we can all see how it has been stolen! Good find. Interesting to see if we get any feedback on this.
  8. A while back, my kids were given £1 if they spotted a LS400 - if it was a 430 they only got 50p! Fortunately there are not many about and electronic devices tended to distract them!
  9. Fully endorse Ed's post above. Red cars, in my experience, seem to be a target for gulls. It is very important to clean off the mess asap. I had a Hyundai that needed a roof respray due to bird droppings being left. I soak a dish cloth and leave it on the offending mess for 20 mins. You have my sympathy!
  10. Really sorry tio hear that.
  11. Did you buy the car from a dealer or private?
  12. Yes - when I select Bluetooth as the source, the MAIN i-phone connected is turned on and plays music automatically. Just turning the car on does not start the music on the phone. Hope this helps.
  13. Yep! Same with my NX300h! You do not have to turn the music on the i-phone - the car does it automatically when you select Bluetooth. No idea how to turn it off. When I press the off button on the NX it automatically stops the i-phone playing. I thought it was a neat trick!
  14. Yes, getting hold of one locally is quite difficult. Unicorn poo com es to mind!
  15. One of my lights had this issue and I was advised to replace as it was not an easy job to reseal. I got mine from a breakers - not cheap!
  16. No idea what they are like but this might be useful:- https://www.partsgateway.co.uk/car-breakers/lexus
  17. Keep us updated please Howard.
  18. I will do the same with Lanoguard - better safe than messy!
  19. B Brilliant thank you. The Lanoguard comes with a spray bottle I believe but a long lance would be handy.
  20. When the weather gets a bit warmer I will treat my 400 with a clean and Kurust a rust. Then I will try Lanoguard. Apparently it is easy and quick to apply. The only disadvantage is that it needs applying annually.
  21. Sadly no! I used the car in North London. It just sat on a shelf under the dash. My security was to cover it with a yellow duster! It worked! Never had it stolen until I put it into another car! I presume thieves thought a 1961 Ford Anglia was not worth looking at!
