    COULD ANYONE TELL WHICH IS THE BEST AND EASIEST TO USE FOR THE NON COMPUTER PEOPLE OUT HERE

    AND WHERE ABOUTS CAN I GET ANY OF THESE FROM

    LONG TIME NO SPEAK

    JUST GOT ABIT OF A PROBLEM AND WITH ALL YOU MEMBERS HAVE A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF CARS I THOUGHT I'D ASK THE QUESTION ON HERE

    THE PROBLEM BEING THAT THE WIFES CAR A ROVER 400 HAS STARTED TO OVERHEAT AND NOT SURE IF THE HEAD GASKETIS ON IT WAY OUT

    THE SYMPTOMS BEING THAT AROUND TOWN AND IN TRAFFIC ITS AT NORMAL TEMP BUT WHEN YOU GET ON THE MOTORWAY AND UP TO SPEED IT GOES UP TO THE RED

    I'VE CHANGED THE ANTIFREEZE AND THERMOSTAT FLUSHED THE SYSTEM OUT AND REPLACED THE RAD AND HAVE NO AIR IN THE SYSTEM BUT ITS STILL THE SAME

    ITS NOT LOOSING WATER OR OIL NOR IS GETTING WATER IN THE OIL BUT HAVE NOTICED THAT THEIR IS A LITTLE OIL COMING OUT OF THE REAR CORNER OF THE HEAD GASKET BUT NOT ALOT

    WITHOUT STRIPPING THE ENGINE DOWN AND REPLACING THE GASKET WHICH ISN'T A OPTION AS THE REPAIRS WILL COST MORE THAN THE CARS WORTH

    I'VE SEEN THAT YOU CAN GET THESE HEADGASKET REPAIRS IN A BOTTLE THAT YOU POUR INTO THE RAD AND WHEN THE CARS UP TO TEMP IT S SURPPOSE TO SEAL THE LEAKS

    1, DO THESE WORK

    2, IF SO WHICH ARE THE BEST AND HOW GOOD AND HOW LONG DO THEY LAST

    3,AND DO THEY DO ANY DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE

    It's been a while since i have posted on this site but been in the back ground reading others posts

    Anyway its time to say goodbye as i'm afraid my pride and joy modified LS400 has been sold to a friend of a friend who offered me a price i couldn't refuse when i mentioned to him i needed a newer practical car for the family

    i've met some good people in the time i've spent with you all and been to a lot of good meets but still might bump into a few of you in the future when visiting places like JAE etc

    from time to time i might visit the forum

  5. Hi

    Replaced all 4 shocks and springs for lowered ones on mine and the front were easy the rears had me swearing a bit but did them once i knew which control arm to take off to drop the suspension arm and yes you will need spring compresses

    make sure you loosen the top nut at the top of the shock before you start

    took me a couple of hours on one side and 40mins on the other

As i work for a company that has dealing with the water industry in kent they are trying hard to stop as many leaks as possible but red tape due to different councils stoping them digging up roads etc but once they give the go ahead start fineing the water companys money for not conforming to silly clauses so why do they bother

    Also did you know that certain water companys export through the channel tunnel our water to france because they have less water than us but charge us for doing this all because the french have stakes or own a large portion of our water industry

  7. Hi all

    I keep on getting a high risk box from nortons telling me i have a trojan and it has deleted it but everytime you press ok another one appears over and over again

    The trojan is called Trojan.byteverify

    I've been on google and tried what they seem to suggest by disabling the system restore and using a trojan remover do a full scan then restore the system but its still there

    can anyone help if so can you explain it in thick mans terms so its easy to follow
