  1. Insurance is due for renewal. For medical reasons I cannot actually drive until April, but Wife uses the car daily as named driver. I am worried that if I declare medical condition no one will touch me, although current insurance co have been fine. Wife still needs to be able to drive car.
  2. After a 2nd fit/seizure in April (the 2nd in 2 years) I have been told I cannot drive until April next year. My insurers have been fine as the car obviously still needs to be insured and my Wife drives it as a named driver. But my insurance is do for renewal. Am I better transferring ownership to my Wife's name (subject to the existing finance deal), or keeping it in my name? Insurance is a nightmare. Tried to get Daughter insured on Wifes 1.6 Mini Cooper as named driver. No one would touch her. We transferred ownership of the car to Daughter, changed her status to Employed (she took a gap year) BINGO she was insured and had 18 months of event free driving. Now she is at Uni, so therefore a Student, now she cannot get insured again, even though it is the same car, parked in the same place at the same address. So she is back for 3 months cannot drive, and no-one will touch her to drive the Lexus. Rant and question over. Helpful advice welcomed.
  3. Best I got was 62mpg, on a long run to Oxford. Astoundingly better that the 16mpg I used to get from my old RX300. Although I still miss the air suspension, auto seats, Levinson Stereo, load capacity etc etc.
  4. I had a similar issue with my previous Infiniti. Even they could not supply the correct wheel nut key. They sent me to Nissan and then to Mercedes. Still no joy. In the end I found a place less than mile from my house. I just sent them a photo of the nut in question and they sent me a key by courier in 24 hours. It was either in Broadstone or Houldsworth Mill, Stockport. Even my local tyre place hadn't heard of them.
  5. Sorry to have hi-jacked the post.
  6. Thank you.
  7. Can someone please put a post showing the different fronts/Lights? Our car is a '19 Plate, but I am not sure what spec it is. It has 17in wheels, front & rear parking sensors and the larger screen sat-nav, and keyless entry, heated front seats, privacy glass.

    GRR!

I can't drive for 6 months following a medical episode, so Wife is using my car. She has scraped the rear bumper, not badly but enough to leave white residue on it. It is a metallic black car. Any tips on the best solution to cover it up?
  9. Agree the voice recognition is rubbish. I have a 2019 CT200h with the big sat nav screen. I find it really complicated and certainly can't be used when driving.
  10. Over £19k.
  11. Wow! did the Autotrader valuation. If I sold it for that price I basically have had a car for free for the last 18 months.
  12. It is actually only 14,175 miles from new. Black metallic paint, it has the larger sat nav screen. Thank you.
  13. Due to a medical condition, I cannot drive for at leat 6 months. So rather than pay for the car, insurance etc I think I might reluctantly sell it, to save money. It's a 2019 plate. Not sure exact model it is but it has only done 17 miles. Any ideas on values?
  14. Mine shows up at least 6, but I will be honest I find the Media interface befuddling. (Have a 2019 CT200)
  15. We use the USB to charge phones, and Wife and Youngest use them to connect their phones to the car to listen to music/podcasts/audio books. But I still agree they are in a not very practicable position.
  16. Agree. My last 2 cars, Infiniti's had the USB ports on the centre consul. You could then hide your phone etc and not interfere with passenger sitting position.
  17. I have been driving for 30 years. Never been asked what tyres I have. Yes the usual question on modifications to the car, but not tyres.
  18. That is what I thought. £500 for a service on a car that is a 2019 Plate, we have had barely 12 months and it has done only 5k miles, seems excessive.
  19. Should we go with timescale or mileage? Had car about a year now, it has only done about 5k miles in that time. Also was quoted almost £500 for a service. It just seems excessive. I could get it serviced at local, well trusted garage, but it would not have the Lexus Stamp in the book.
  20. Slightly off topic, but I agree the Lexus Sat Nav has gone down in quality. 12/14 years ago we really needed it to get Daughter to a a Pharmacy/Doctor whilst in France. Thankfully Lexus loaned us a European Update disc (It was an IS200) we got her the medical treatment she needed thanks to it. Since then I have had 2 Infinitis, the sat nav was great, even got me to Le Mans & back. I find the Sat Nav in my CT clunky to set up, inaccurate, & during a recent trip to Oxford it literally didn't know where it was.
  21. Quite a few years ago I got my then Inifiniti 30GXd from Manchester to Le Mans on a single tank, over 600 miles. I think more and more we are heading to electric cars.
  22. On the trip back from Oxford to Manchester we averaged 56.5MPG, and that was on A/B Roads, avoiding the motorway ( I feel the car is underpowered on the motorway, but that is another story).
  23. After our trip to Oxford, the read out said we averaged 56 MPG. I think that is pretty good.
  24. Thanks all. Wife managed to get it topped up, without queuing, at local Asda, but they were restricted to a maximum sale of £30, luckily we only needed about £20 worth. That should get us to Uni and back at the weekend.
  25. I have never really paid attention to the milage we get out of a full tank. All I have noticed is that is costs half what I used to pay to fill up my previous Infiniti(s).
