  1. Roy, Herbs had double locked the car so you can't open doors from the inside. You can't double lock them if the ignition is on so you can't get trapped in the vehicle, if the doors are single locked when you are driving and you have an accident then the locks will open so emergency services can help you out...
  2. Thanks Steve, I'll give it a go...
  3. Do the cheap leads and software for sale on eBay actually work or are they a waste of time... Anyone recommend a particular one.... Cheers
  4. If you want to fit it yourself then this is a good place to get one, just put your reg in and it will give you all the options, next day delivery as well... https://www.tayna.co.uk/
  5. Stainless steel exhausts always sound louder than mild steel ones, it's just a characteristic of stainless steel. If you tell the builder you want it quiet they will know what to do.... That lump of metal is called a "mass damper" they are fitted in all sorts of places, there is even one inside the steering wheel, they have sufficient mass to reduce NVH issues...
  6. The PSA Group double clutch gearbox uses dry clutches, they have the exact judder you talk about at very low speeds, They claim it "is a feature of these gearboxes sir...!!!" If the damper above is worn or has been contaminated by oil then I could see it could cause your symptoms. Try a few heavy throttle take offs, which should clean anything off the damper, and see how the judder is directly after.... Might be a mile wide of the mark but if it does improve it might help diagnosis.... Good Luck..
  7. Thanks Neil, looks like it will remain a mystery I know it's features, it's very sad but I read the handbook cover to cover.... the ending was awful....lol...
  8. It's a Lexus built part, it fits too well to be an addon... the foam is five sided but made in one piece.. It must be original, maybe there was an accessory that was stored there... Very weird, I'll probably remove it as it just wastes space...
  9. Malc, totally rust free everywhere, all you can see underneath is mint, covered in rust prevention as well, I recon the last guy who owned it was under there all the time....
  10. 2003 RX300 SE_L Dose anyone know what this is for, a removable two partition holder in the centre console, one side is fully lined with foam including the base, the foam isn't quite square either..... What is this for...??? Thanks (picture overexposed to show the foam better..)
  11. Thanks guys, yep, keeping it for the foreseeable...
  12. Well I still can't find a decent one of either so I bought this to keep me going...!!
  13. Well I've been looking for an LS460 or 600 for months now and can't find one in the colours I want, very few about and silly inflated prices... I've been driving around in an old Mondeo but it's manual and I have replacement hips and knees and a car with three pedals is just painful...!! So I've been looking for a run about that is automatic and came across this beautiful RX 2003 RX300 SE-L 129,000miles in Light Blue Metallic with Grey leather in absolutely lovely condition. It has also had a BRC LPG conversion done. The previous owner is even more fastidious than me...!! The rear subframe has been removed, sandblasted and powder coated, all rear suspension arms have been replaced along with new nuts and bolts, all front arms have been replaced along with the droplinks and track rod ends. All four callipers have been professionally refurbished, new dics and pads all round with new genuine pad fitting kits. The underside is as clean as the top and in stunning condition for a 19 year old car. Wheels have been refurbished and fitted with new Michelin tyres. Fitted with a Westfalia removable towbar. It has a service portfolio that is inches thick... The only thing I'm not to keen on is that the air suspension has been swapped for conventional springs and shocks although it does ride quite well... I've had it a few days now and I must say I love it, it was supposed to be a fill in car but I can see my self keeping it for a while... Everything works just as it should, it even has new wipers and two new flip keys... Runs perfectly on LPG and with LPG around 74p a litre it must be returning the equivalent of 50+mpg... Below are some pictures and although cars always look better in photographs than real life it really is in this good a condition... There are a few small areas that can be improved and I will be sorting those soon.. I have a Lexus, I am happy again.....
  14. Thanks, I have had Lane keep assist and I will not miss it at all...!! Each to their own....!
  15. Thank you all for taking the time to write, it is interesting to hear everyones thoughts... Having driven the last 20,000 miles with adaptive cruise I feel my life would not be complete without it... first world problems, I know...!! So it's a late, rare 430 with it but the grille looks so ugly with the slab of perspex... Or the 460 or 600... RFL cost is not in the equation for me, but boot size is.... so I'm still on the fence... I expect the first one of either I find that has the right colour/spec/condition will win...
  16. Thanks Exdee... Next question... What do the collective think about high mileage 600's they seem to wear well bodywork and interior but how about the rest, anyone heard anything...
  17. Thanks guys, great to hear your thoughts... Exdee, how much smaller is the boot...?? The main problem is finding one, 8 on auto trader and either imports, high mileage or wrong colour... I'm very impressed with the wifes CT200h so would like a hybrid if I can find the right one in a timely manner, if not I might have to slum it in a 460...lol...
  18. Thanks for replying guys.... On paper the 600h does more than the 460 but apparently, reading the US forums in reality the 460 is better... As for quietness... my wife now runs a CT200h and at low speeds it is so quiet you can't tell if the engine is on or off so I presume there won't be much difference between the 460 and 600... or am I wrong..? The 600's are thousands more than the 460's for same age and mileage, I don't mind the extra just want to know if it is worth it...
  19. Stuart, I would have thought both will be fine, the earliest is 2007 so I presume they will run happily on it....?? Or is there something I should know...??
  20. Well it looks like I'm coming back to the fold, Had the 5.0 Supercharged Range Rover for two years, done 20,000 trouble free miles (who thought that would happen..!!) but now it has to go (for various reasons I'm not going into here..!!) I bought that LS460 a few years ago and it was a pup, pretty sure it had been comprehensively clocked and I wasn't too keen on it.... Fast forward a few years and I really can't live without radar cruise (first world problems, I know) so am looking at an LS460 or a LS600h... The 460 is faster, more economical and has a proper gearbox, the 600h has a better spec, but this seems to be just more leather, and it has the CVT box... what's that like..? So, others must have been here... which one do you choose and why...? I'm not concerned with anything in the back as no one sits there since the kids left home...!! Help me choose, thanks guys....
  21. Thank you for the kind words chaps, yes this is a great car and it looks like it will be staying on the forum... provisionally sold... As to another Lexus, there doesn't seem to be any after the 430 that I like...
  22. Thanks you but don't be sorry, the change in circumstance is a good one and I can now afford to buy what I have wanted for a while... A last of the L322 Range Rovers, this one a 5.0ltr Supercharged Autobiography... Apparently the Lexus is nearly as reliable...😂
  23. Only just put it in cars for sale, maybe it needs to be approved...!! No LPG on this one... More info here...
  24. Due to a change of circumstances I have to sell my 430, I hope it is alright to post that here, it is advertised in the for sale section with full details but when I browse this forum I always miss the for sale section, just didn't want a member missing out if someone is looking for one..!! Thanks
