  1. hey kev.....

wen i had it installed...i seemed to have noticed a louder "vrooommm" on higher rpms wen accelarating. aside from that,,,,,maybe due to a "new"air filters less dirtyyyy nature...the car felt a little bit..lighter to drive.

dunno...maybe just knowing the fact that uve got the TRD stuff in there..makes u feel faster...hehehehe

feels faster....psychologically....but anywayzzz..i still want to put on some trd plugs next...

  2. hey guys...just installed my first TRD stuff ....to b exact..its the trd air filter.

now..just wondering...what other TRD stuff are available for our is200s????

aside from the bodykit, air filter, oil filter, sparkplugs, brakepads, stainless brakelines, muffler, am i still missing something from the list???

  3. i just put on a TRD Air filter on my Is200 a couple of days ago.....and it does make a difference on higher rev ranges....when u hit 4000rpm and above...ull notice the difference..the engine sounds sportier. as to performance..i dunno..maybe its just "aural"

  4. in addition to my armrest, i also got a pair of PIAA spark blue bulbs, said to b d brightest halogen bulb todate with a 7500k temperature.....closest to hid as they say. now my problem is, our IS200 comes with Oem bulbs at 51watts, whereas my piaa's have 55watts consumption and a claimed 100w output...

will not this 100watt output and 7500K temperature "melt" our wiring harness and "melt/burn" our headlight lens and reflectors???? im also concerned that its 4watts higher at 55watts than our originals at 51watts.

i did light them up 2nite, produces a Xenon look, but, it really pales against the real thing..the real HID....coz side by side....is surely lights up LESS. but close enough that while on the road...ppl will really think ur running HID. but from the cockpit, its no hid brightness on d road. hehehe

  5. hellow!!! just got an armrest from a recent trip to HK, and i installed it yesterday on my 99 automatic IS200.

but i have a problem, i have smoothly removed the console and installed the armrest by myself for about an hour. upon finishing, ive noticed that the chrome trim around the oval plate of the auto shifter, isnt as snug as it was, on the half portion of the oval chrome trim, the portion towards the armrest. the portion towards the dash fits well however.

i made lots of adjustments on d screws of the console, however, if the i try to "push down" the console, the chrome trim will fit snugly, but the gap where the joints are --near the heated seat buttons, become more pronounced. its like the center part of the console...between the shifter oval and the cupholders "bulged" bcoz of the weight of the armrest, thus, causing the lower half of the oval to b raised about 2-3mm. it isnt really a big gap, about 2-3mm, im not sure if i just got crosseyed while working on it...coz i dont really remember how it originally was...but nvertheles...i think there is a gap that wasnt there before... any help????

  6. hey ZEE....is that black chrome? or just the "black painted" headlights???? would u mind sharing the part numbers???? im really looking at gettin those since 99!!! but i never got to have the part#.

what do u mean by manual headlight level adjustment??? dont u have that on the dashboard??? those with numbers???

btw, which side of the road are u driving? left or right? im driving on the rigth side of the road, meaning my car is a left hand driver, im quite concerned that the jdm black housing headlamps is not compatible with a left hand drive car coz its configured for use on a right hand driver..... am i correct? thanks!

  7. ill try to post pics if time warrants...

anyway to put it short, open ur trunklid, the taillight has two bolts right? upper n lower...try to take a look at the topmost part of the black platic above the upper bolt...ive noticed that there is NO GAP betweent the plastic and the car's body on the left side, but on the right side, there is some gap between the black plastic and d car's body. im talking about the part where the black plastic of the taillight joins the car's body. its basically the part where water flows down...from the side down to the taillights...get it????

  8. hey guys, its best u check this thing out with your cars and give me some feedback.

after more than 3years of owning my car, i just noticed today, that the right taillight has a "bigger" gap between its lenses and the right side quarter panel/rear fender compared to the left taillight.

the gap being the distance between the lens and the rear fender, the right side is about 1-2mm more further apart than the left taillight. when i opened the boot, the upper tip of the taillight on the rightside, had a gap between its black plastic housing and the metal part of the rear fender, whereas the left taillight, had its black housing completely flush with the left quarterpanel/fender. anyone notice this????

but the when u take a very close look, the taillights r perfectly flush with the rear bumper, and the trunklid, only that the taillight on the right has about 1-2mm more gap between it and the fender compared to the lefts. is this just a design flaw???? its barely noticeable to d point i only noticed it after 3years.

well,,,,im kinda paranoid lately after some KIA bumped my car from behind. but i dont think the bumping has got to do with it coz my rear bumper wasnt even misaligned. and the bumped portion is more to d left than to the right of the car where the gap exists.

  9. anyone here knows the part number for Air Filter on an IS200??? a stock filter# a Trd filter# and a TOMs filter# would b great.

btw, im looking at ordering a "factory painted' rear bumper. Which of these is the correct part number??? A)52159-53901-"BO" B)52159-53901-"1C"

is it A or B, or are both wrong? thanks!

when i looked at TRD part numbers for the bumpers, 1C is suffixed on the part# for platinum ice, whereas in some part#s...e.g. colored grilles, "BO" is suffixed. confusing.......tsktsk

i just got my rav4 door moulding "factory painted from japan"......its colored silver, and d part# had the "BO" (suffix) letters added on the usual unpainted part#.

  10. thanks for d replies guys!!!

im from the Philippines.... im gonna replace my rear bumper, and just had d thought that while having a new one installed, i might as well install parking sensors while a new bumper is being mounted.

its really quite confusing bcoz some lexus pics ive seen had four sensors, some only two. any part numbers pleeez????

i currently have a parktronic system in my other car, it works wonders! but i really like the LED digital display, as it only emits audible warnings when im very close, say ...on the red zone of the yellow/red LED display. so i dont seem to comprehend much, how an "beeping only" system works...it might b too annoying to here beeps whenever i reverse. i only want a beep wen im too close to hitting an object just like a benz does....at least, with leds, u can more or less estimate on how close u are.

i do have a silver metallic IS, i guess its called platinum ice in this forum..... and black sensors seem to b out of place also...hehehe....

  11. just curious, does the lexus OEM parking sensors consist of only 2 or four sensors on the rear bumper?????

can they be painted in body color?

lastly, aside from the audible warning sounds, does the OEM parking aid....feature a digital display like in Mercedes?

Any toyota/lexus part number for it??? i cant go for quannan..coz im from a far country from u guys... i have only access on toyota parts.

  12. thanks a lot Chris!!! im in the Philippines, however, theres no Lexus dealership here, my IS200 is a european version, since my manufacturer's plate in the engine is Toyota Europe.

52159-53901 -->Thats for a REAR bumper right?????? if u dont mind, do u know what else is lying behind the rear bumper? is it only a styrofoam bumper reinforcement? if so, u have the part# too??? thanks. My bumper is similar to yours, its not extended unlike the U.S. spec cars.
