  1. I would expect there to be a wiring harness and ecu change to do that swap at the very least.
  2. I think Denso Platinum Plugs PK16R11 are the genuine items. Alternative are (I believe but check first), NGK BKR5EIX11, NGK BKR5EP11, Bosch FR7KPP33+, Denso IK20, Champion RC10PYP4.
  3. Yeah, that's what I meant about the brackets. I made some but I believe there is a genuine Toyota item that the Toyota fasca will clip onto as well as holding the new head unit.
  4. Chances are that the fuse link has blown in your cig lighter. If you follow the "AC bulb change" link in my sig, you will see how to get the ashtray out. On the bottom of the lighter socket, you will see a nut, undo the nut and take out the fibre washer that is sandwiched between the two metal discs. Pu thte nut back on and job done. That will bypass the fuse link. Mind you, if you just want the 12v, you wouldn't need to bypass the fuselink as the more than likely the actual power is there and working on the plug behind the lighter. If you don't fancy doing that, you could pick up power from the digital clock display. Again, details to get that out is in the link I mentioned above. Failing that, you can use the stereo power, but that involves removing the head unit (details in the same link on how to remove it). There would also be power behind the mirror control, so that would be another option.
  5. Take a look at this topic I did a while back. There are part numbers for genuine Toyota items Clicky. I think there are genuine Toyota brackets also, but haven't bought those yet as I made my own.
  6. I'm not positive, but I think on mine if I am moving up an incline and come to a complete halt on that incline, then the car will hold. If I am parked up and start the car on that incline, I think it would roll back. Don't quote me on that though. The only odd thing I find, is in the first scenario where I have come to a halt, if I have the aircon on and the compressor kicks in and the revs rise slightly, the car will actually move forward slowly, which can come as a bit of a surprise.
  7. Tried that link at lunchtime. That does make LOC a bit more usable :)
  8. Just wandering if this is by design or not. I know there is a "Latest Posts" button at the top, but all it does is show you what posts have been done in the last 24 hours. If I can't get on LOC for a couple of days, you don't see anything that was done more than 24 hours ago. Can we please have the "New Posts since last visit" button back??
  9. Sorry, missed these latest replies (see my new post in this section). I will try out that link later Steve.
  10. Just PM me your address details mate and we can deal with the postage costs later.
  11. I would expect it to fit. I'm not aware of any major updates on those kind of parts over the years.
  12. When I still had the factory head unit in mine, I used a griffin thing that transmitted the ipod to a frequency to tune your radio in to. Worked pretty well especially if you don't travel wide distances. I did find that I would tune it to a frequency in Basingstoke and by the time I got half way to Derby that frequency was used by a radio station in a different area, so I would have to change the griffin frequency and retune the radio occasionally.
  13. Hey Tigerfish, You said that you have a key with built-in remote keyfob for MK1-96, is that correct? (like mk2 starting from 1998 on-wards)) I have a MK1-97, I have a fob separate to key. How did you do that? will you be kind enough to share, how did you manage to do that? Kind regards -shuja No mate, I must've worded my reply above wrongly. The key has the imobiliser transponder (or whatever it is called) built in. The remote for the locking/alarm etc is a seperate 2 button fob.
  14. Lexus dealer or any paintshop should be able to mix it up or obtain it. Also try Toyota dealers as they should have the colour also.
  15. My '96 mk1 Sport has a key (with immobiliser transponder built into the key) and a seperate 2 button alarm fob. Sorry, no idea on reprogramming.
  16. No idea if Lexus still do them, but worth a call I suppose as they did sell off the IS200 sport grills cheap fully painted not long back. If not, I guess a breaker may have one.
  17. I would agree that 30 quid was steep for the cup holder. You are spot on, some breakers know what they have, some don't (or don't care). If you can find the latter, then you are quids in for sure.
  18. Where abouts is the blow? Mine has started a couple of times on the join between the downpipe and cat. A new ring and a tub of gun-gum cured it.
  19. thanx tigerfish thats great do u know what size is sub (10" or 12") and how many wires go to sub hope just 2 many thanx, your car looks nice, once im finished doing mine up will put pics on 10" and 2 wires from what I remember. Impedance is 2 ohms.
  20. I've got a pdf of the yank version of the owners manual, which is not for a rigth hand drive. You should get the idea with everything though. Clicky
  21. I've had parts from Puremoto-of-chesterfield and haven't got any grumbles. I guess it all depends what you are after.
  22. Not heard of that on this model, but can't guarantee it.
