  1. Yeah, I do use the ebay app, which I think is great, but it doesn't do all things like managing your seller account etc.
  2. I'm sure the owners manual shows how to take the fog out to change the bulb (the GS owners manual does anyway). It really is very easy and not worth paying someone 30 dabs plus VAT to do.
  3. Have you looked on eBay? There are quite a few fogs on there ranging from £60 up to £150.
  4. I believe there is a drain plug to remove the fluid in the gearbox sump, but it doesn't drain the torque convertor etc. To do a full fluid change involves disconnecting one of the cooler pipes and a series of top up, undo pipe, pump out some fluid, reconnect pipe, top up, repeat until fluid pumps out clean. I've not done it myself, but from what I can gather fairly straighforward using that procedure.
  5. Maybe one of the drain pipes from the sunroof is blocked or has come adrift?
  6. There should be a 30amp "DEFOG" fuse somewhere. Not sure which fuse box though. It looks like thee rear screen and mirror heater relays are powered via the 10amp "HEATER" fuse, and the actual mirror elements powered via a 10amp "MIR HTR" fuse.
  7. I would start by PM'ing the user ACLex on here, he is at Lexus Poole and normally does some good prices. Failing that, there are lots of Mk1's breaking on ebay that you could try contacting.
  8. Yup, on this occasion. You won't say that when you want to change the spark plugs :) Glad it is sorted.
  9. If the cruise control is working then you could set it to cruise. If the cruise control cancels when you press the brake, then that proves the switch ok or not. There are no relays that I know of for the stop lights only the 20amp fuse you have checked. Although the 15A "gauge" fuse does power the light failure sensor circuit, so maybe worth a check just in case. Other than chasing the power, not much else I can think of. Do any warning lights come on to indicate it thinks there is a blown bulb?
  10. Have the remote button functions changed over the years? On my '99 Sport, 1 press of the lock button locks the doors, a second press seems to set the deadlocks. Not tried a third press. If I hold the lock or unlock buttons, the windows will open or close depending which button I am keeping pressed.
  11. My 96 Sport also has a factory alarm/immobiliser. There is a small red light on the lower trim of the dash (next to the brightness control knob) which shows the status of the system. If the red light is there on yours, and it flashes when the key is removed, them yours has it too.
  12. I would be inclined to suspect the "slip ring" contact behind the steering wheel too. I guess depending on how much side ways pressure you exert on the steering wheel, would depend when a dodgy contact will open circuit. i.e. You are more likely to put a sideways tilt on the wheel if you are straining it against the end stops so to speak on full lock. As mentioned, might be a good bargaining tool.
  13. Not sure there is anything that can be classed as a "cheap" Lexus mod. As you've just illuded to, ones where you don't have to buy anything, like the headlamp mod, de-tango'ing, diy alloy refurb, caliper painting, are about it I think. Failing that, switching interior lighting to LEDs, changing dash to LEDs, are other little projects.
  14. The picture in this thread tends to suggest that Wa/Wb are normally linked. http://www.lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?p=102167
  15. Strange diagnosis on the cause. I can see the calipers may stick on (quite a common issue on older Lexus cars - yours is still a bit young though) but I'm prepared to bet a lot of money it isn't the cause of the brakes releasing when they shouldn't.
  16. The code is set by the user at the point of enabling the security code, so there is no way of getting it unless they used the last 4 of the chasis number or something. Failing that, it is paying someone to reset it. I'm not aware of any DIY reset.
  17. Yeah, they were a couple of quid I seem to remember when I got some from Lexus before.
  18. As per title. If anyone has some 1999 mk2 GS Roof bars they would like to sell, please give me a shout. Cheers
  19. That does make sense. The GS also has the same cooler loop going in front of the radiator. Not hard to fix, but depending how you want to fix it, it can be expensive. The pipe is a couple of hundred quid from Lexus, but you can repair using high pressure hose instead. There is a topic in the GS forum somewhere about it.
  20. The check engine light could mean a lot of different things mate. You will need to get the fault codes read either at Lexus, or a local garage. First, check that the fuel cap is on tight, as this can put the light on.
  21. No options like that showing for me :(
  22. The new mobile version of LOC (since last week) is pretty good. But I agree, would be handy to have an "Opt out" option. I find this more of an issue on eBay than LOC, just in case anyone knows how to fix eBay :)
