  1. Which model/year of lexus? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  3. Yeah, as mentioned, each system is sensitive to voltage. It is exactly what happens when the alternator went on my gen 1 GS300. First the charge light, then engine management, abs , vsc etc all followed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  4. I used the Philips Xtreme LED’s in all my GS’s, they looked excellent and great temperature match to the HID’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. p.s. if you do take the inlet manifold off to do the knock sensor, it is well worth get a refurb kit for the starter motor and doing that while you have access. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. The vsc lamp may have been triggered if a cheap code reader has been used on the car. The link below has the details on how to try and reset the lamp https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/76133-2004-gs300-vsc-and-vsc-off-lights-on/ For the knock sensor, although the inlet manifold needs to come off, if you are good at diy, it is actually a pretty easy job. An hour or so to remove, less to put back. I can send you a pdf of the procedure if it helps. I’d be careful with a work around, some pretty serious damage can result if the car doesn’t pick up “pinking” when it should. Especially if you are a spirited driver. 8. Awesome, thanks for sorting it out so quickly Steve [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Where does the automatic renew stuff live for the gold membership? I’ve ended up paying twice within 3 days, both on an auto renew. Having looked back, it did the same thing last year, but I didn’t notice. How do I get the double payments back? And how do I delete one of the auto renews so it doesn’t happen again next year? 10. Seems a decent price to me regardless of brand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. The abs light should be on if there was a sensor or ring issue I would have thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. Can’t help on all questions, but.... 3uzfe engine has a timing belt. VSC error is sometimes triggered by cheap code readers. If you search the forum for a post called “2004 GS300 VSC and VSC Off light on”, there are details on how to try a reset. Is the check engine light on? I’d get the codes read if it is. Good luck with the car, that is a fair old list of issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. Yeah, That’s my point. There is a legitimate reason to keep the details in order to uphold your responsibilities. At the point you have no further responsibility to the customer (warranty expired, guarantee expired, loan paid off, whatever) the customers can exercise the right to be forgotten. But that is exactly that, and they no longer have any right to anything when you don’t know who they are anymore. That’s why in theory, the use of this unique number, as soon as the customer presents that number, you have established who they are as an individual again against your records, which could be treading a fine GDPR line. A customer cannot have it both ways, they are either forgotten, or not. But it is the data owners responsibility to ensure they refuse an unreasonable request in order to comply with their obligations, be that legally, regulatory or any other legitimate reason. 14. That’s an interesting approach. Ultimately, if you have a relationship with a customer (they have a warranty), you can refuse to delete them, and that refusal is justified. If they ask to be forgotten, and you do, they have no right to return to you for any information afterwards. Anything relating to the vehicle would be linked via the registration, so the vehicle history can still be traced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. Agree with Ian, Pagid stuff is fine. Although they seem like decent prices from the dealer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. Rear springs are available on eBay for gen 2 GS430’s. Where abouts are you located? I don’t have those parts, but I do still have some GS parts knocking about from when I did drive them, that may be of use to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  17. The thing is, GDPR is meant to cover such things. That said, you can capture and keep information for legitimate reasons, so reserving a table for a customer is such a reason. Once the reservation has gone, you don’t have a legitimate reason to then keep it, so just obliterate the name. Depending what info you collect, arguably, the info then falls outside personal data/GDPR. Mr Bloggs on its own doesn’t identify an individual, but, “The Prince of Wales” does. It is therefore just simpler to remove all names. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter if you agree or not. Personal data is information that can identify an individual. Name and address certainly does do that. However, a surname and town wouldn’t. I find it a bit tenuous when a car registration is deemed personal information, as on its own, it doesn’t identify an individual. Only with access to the registered keeper name and address, would it identify someone (ie on a V5) Re: masking number plates on forum posts. Whilst I don’t see the point myself, a thief is far more likely to attempt to clone plates on the same car, if, they are unlikely to come across the same car in the area. So online, you could pick a reg number for the same model/colour of car, and be 99.99 percent sure it will be in another area of the country altogether. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  19. My sincere apologies, i consider myself reprimanded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. I guess it depends what’s on your car. The GS’s just had standard canisters.
  21. I used K&N oil filters on all of my GS’s. They have a bolt head on the end of the filter casing, so easily undone with a spanner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  22. Yup, that’s what I was saying. It wasn’t so useful on the Lexus due to having to access the filter from under the car. I can’t imagine why you’d do an oil change without changing the filter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  23. This is the same type I have (although no idea on brand), it’s been brilliant https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323257020137 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  24. Same here, I’ve used a vacuum one for years, which was great on my old 325 BMW and my current CLS63 Merc, wasn’t so handy with the GS’s due to still having the jack the car to get the filter off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  25. Nope, afraid not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
