  1. I'm not aware of anyone who has found such a company unfortunately.
  2. Looking at your pics, you have the Sport wheels but not the extra wide 10" rears that were an option. The tyres should be 245/40 18 all round on those wheels.
  3. Looks nice mate. Definately the wrong tyres on those wheels though (as per your previous post), would look much better with the right size ;)
  4. Yeah, remove battery and with the fob over the centre console, hold the buttons down for a minute or two. Then put battery back in and it should sync the rolling codes back up after a few attempts.
  5. Agree with Dave, all depends how it matches someone initials as L300 on its own doesnt really mean that much.
  6. The stereo amp is underneath the CD changer so must be something different. It looks like the tranceiver and speaker relay unit is in that area somewhere, so maybe that part was fitted by default, even if the phone cradle wasn't installed in the centre console.
  7. How long are you keeping the button pressed on the fob? It needs to be pressed for a few seconds before it pops the boot.
  8. Where is the amplifier you found in the boot? The stereo amplifier is in the boot so I'm guessing it is that one that you found. They did have a phone kit (optional), but from what I remember, the brain box for it was in the center console somewhere and just took care of switching the audio to the drivers door speaker.
  9. Yeah, it is not a straight forward swap changing the standard head unit in a mk2 to a sat nav unit from a mk2, so impossible pretty much to stick one in the mk1. The satnav unit also has the heater controls built in I think, which makes it even harder.
  10. Tough call on the price, but on face value, probably not a great deal. £700'ish if the right person is about.
  11. Which wheels do you have? If they are the wider 10 inch rears, then they should be 245/40 18's on the front and 275/35 18's on the rear from what I remember. If they are the same wheels all round, then 245/40 18 all round.
  12. I'd agree with Dave, get the battery checked. The central locking and flat battery may well be unrelated and both be temperature exacerbated.
  13. Update thanks to tigerfish I had a look at the cambelt area and found a service sticker confirming the Timingbelt was replaced @ 54,000 mile in dec 2008 what a big load off my mind, now I just need to service it and I need to chase up as much SH as I can. You lot have been a massive help Good result. Happy motoring
  14. Yup, it is a double din and they should still be able to ge them. Sorry, I have the wheels on my mk2 Sport.
  15. All of the double din fascias for sale that I have seen have been for Left hand drive vehicles, so won't fit UK models. I bought the genuine Toyota part for the Aristo, Instrument Panel - Part No 55412-30430, about £15 + vat I think. I ended up DIY'ing the stereo brackets to fit it, but I do think there are some available from Toyota, the problem is the parts diagrams are so bad, neither me or the part fella could tell what was what. There weren't any coverter cables when I did mine, but I think there are some available now. It isn't just a straight plug and play though. As there is the amp in the boot, you either need to make sure your headunit outputs are line level fed to the amp, or like I did, bypass the amp and ditch it. I ditched the amp and the sub (and the CD changer), which made room for my Vibe sub in the boot anyway. Bypassing the amp connections, connecting the amp ins to the amp outs, just saved me running speaker cables around the car and just used the ones already there. The carbon effect I assume is just some carbon wrap done as a DIY job.
  16. Thanks for this, bear with me here are you saying I can do the cam belt myself? because I know its an expensive job, I suppose that also makes sense about the service as even though I do it now when I try to sell people will always be suspicious about the previous absence of SH. Where do I start with cambelt etc? The cambelt is do-able as a DIY job, but it is a big job and not for the novice I would say. What I meant was, if you just at the moment want to do oil/filters/plugs, then do them yourself and save a packet. If you want to tackle the cambelt, you will save a lot of money, although I'm not best placed to advise the procedure as I don't own an IS. As far as inspecting the cambelt goes, that is a doddle, and just involves removing the top cover right at the front end of the engine. There are a couple of bolts, one either side of the cover i believe, undo them and the cover lifts off. You will see the cam pulleys with with belt running over the top of them. If it looks in good condition, then the urgency to replace it could be reduced. On some IS's on here, the cambelt was actually worn/shredded to half its normal width. If it was like that, then you would want to get a bit of a wriggle on to renew it.
  17. In the end, if you have no history, it isn't worth spending top dollar on a service now. For oil/Filter/plugs, do it yourself and save a bomb, if you really cant do it yourself then just go to a cheaper local garage. Good advise regarding the cam belt, but a quick look at it should give some clues at least, and is only a couple of bolts to get the top cover off on the cam. If it HPI'd ok, and you are happy with the price you paid with no history, then just relax and have fun in your new motor. Don't spoil the experience with worry.
  18. Sorry mate, no idea what the part numbers would be.

  19. I'm not aware of a heated front screen, I suspect, because there is a button next to the rear screen demister to put the front screen in to demist mode, they are assuming it is heated. What it actually does is just direct all air to the front screen and side window vents and puts the fan speed up. My '99 Sport was advertised with power fold mirrors, However, I've failed to get them to fold to date and can't find any switch to do it either, so I'm assuming it doesn't come with them. They are heated, and photochromic so that they auto dim with the rear view mirror. Rear seats are not heated. Front seats the base and back are heated. There is a basic tool kit. I suspect the 1st aid kit was an option. The pull to the left and the wobble could be the signs of a common issue on almost all Lexus, sticking caliper/Slide pins, which if bad enough could lead to a warped discs, but you can get the wobble as a result of the caliper not realeasing properly and overheating. Quite simple and cheap to sort out. It can be other things too, but this is pretty common. Search the forum for binding/sticking/caliper/slide pins/brakes and you will see pages of posts on the subject. There are a couple of links in my signature to tutorials regarding pins/calipers. They were done on my mk1, but the mk2 is the same. Did you check the heating and stereo LCD displays? The stereo one especially has a tendency to lose segments over the years. Mine has, and is about to get ditched in favour of a double din touchscreen stereo with iPod interface.
  20. Does sound like you have the master cylinder issue rearing it's head. It is something to do with the fact they use a nitrogen accumulator rather than your typical vacuum arrangement. As this also deals with the traction control, that is why the vsc light comes on.
  21. Yikes, glad you are ok after that happening. ebay is a good place for the lower ball joints. You can get them for £50 for the pair both sides. Top arms, no idea, ebay do them about £70, the top arms include the top ball joint and the two bushes on the inner end. There is a turorial in my signature to changing the top arm.
  22. Yeah, it will also do the same if you hold the control key down when you click the link. It is bypassable, but you have to remember to do it, which doesn't make for a relaxed and chilled surfing experience at LOC. i.e. the cursing everytime LOC gets closed altogether. From a design perspective, a "source" website should never relinquish itself to a "destination" unless it is just part of the normal website flow. It never used to work like this before the upgrade, and I can't think of any other forums I use that work like that. I'm sure there must be a setting for it in the admin panels somewhere.
  23. Could the forum behaviour for links in posts be changed please? Since the forum upgrade, any links in posts open in the same window, replacing LOC. I am still closing the page from the link and finding I have closed LOC, can it please be changed to launch a new window for links. It is driving me nuts!!! A website should never relinguish itself to an external link. Cheers
