  1. Hi Steve, thanks for the update and info, fingers crossed there is a fix.
  2. I'm gonna bump this again, as it is still immensely irritating.
  3. Although the front calipers use sliders and therefore do have play, don't ignore the fact the if the sliders have dried out (not been greased properly when pads changed etc), they can cause a metallic clunking and rattling. One of the pins on each side has a rubber sleave on it, these can perish or be missing, and that can causes the problem to be even more audible.
  4. Very good info. I have just fitted drilled an grooved discs all round, with redstuff pads all round as well. They have not bedded fully yet but they already feel much better than the OEM discs and mintex pads I had.
  5. Good result. Make sure you have it adjusted right or you end up getting no heat in the winter months.
  6. I've seen somewhere on the web where someone has fitted a single din headunit where the ashtray normally is. If you search for VIP stuff on eBay for the GS, you should find the panel from a US seller, very expensive though. Other than that, I can't see there are many options. Why do you want an aftermarket headunit? infact, here is a link to the ebay item I mentioned above vip audio ashtray
  7. Is it one of the pipes leaking, or the valve itself? Lots of GS's breaking on eBay to get one from.

  9. Interesting. I can see how it would cure the knocking, but cant think of a reason why it would cure the judder on the brakes (unless the judder was actually just the knocking being felt through the car chasis)
  10. Welcome to LOC B) Not sure on the laws in Estonia, but the cruise control should disengage if the brake is pressed, or the clutch. As only autos had cruise, the clutch won't have that trip switch on it, so at the very least, it would need that. I would be a little surprised if the whole accelator/actuator stuff was also installed as standard on all cars, even when it didn't have cruise.
  11. Yes, it is lowered. There are a few aftermarket options available to you on that score, from just springs, up to coilovers. Again, eBay is a good starting point for those too.
  12. If you stuff the accelerator into the carpet, the revs will go to the red line in both modes. It is more with partial (say half throttle) movements that will "kick down" sooner in sport mode.
  13. It was a tongue in cheek comment mate. Although I mentioned eBay as I'd seen the car, thinking you had just bought it, not that it was you selling it, which you mentioned ;)
  14. Not sure it would be my cup of tea, but nothing wrong with trying to indivualise your motor. In the end, as long as you like it, that is all that counts.
  15. I must admit, I don't find the difference as noticeable on my Mk2 as it was on my mk1.
  16. Looking good. You've done some of the things I had done to my Mk1 Sport. I also put RS*R springs on mine as the previous owner had reverted back to standard springs due to his driveway. Very good springs.
  17. There is a set of Mk2 Sport wheels on ebay at the moment, and a mk2 sport grill.
  18. There seems to be a few low mileage examples of the mk1 Sport about at the moment, with vastly over inflated prices which I doubt will be achievable. But no harm in trying I suppose.
  19. Agree with wow300, any pics for folk to guage quality etc. Would this be for the mk1 or mk2?
  20. OK. So you have just bought it, and are currently selling it? Slightly confusing as I can't see why you would upgrade the rear wheels, change the wing etc if it is already up for sale with the current wheels and dented wing A sligh advert by any chance?
  21. Look good. Be carefull though, quite a few members on here did the exact same fit with the strip LEDs, and Aztec Bandits caught fire. Make sure they are fused up with a very, very low ampage fuse.
  22. It does seem to be an annoying feature of the "My content" feature though, where it only shows the last years stuff and there is no way around it. I brought that up before when I had been looking for something I had posted.
  23. Is the engine management light on?
