  1. Have you sprayed some wd40 or similar into the lock barrel just in case they have corroded from lack of use? I had the same thing happen on my E36 BMW and mk1 GS300 Sport - key not turning the lock that is, the fobs always worked ok. Either that or someone has changed the ignition barrel at some point and not changed the full lock set. No idea on fob not working, the rolling codes sometimes go out of sync so may be that. To resync on the GS it involved taking the battery out of the fob, while you were sat in the car, keep the unlock button pressed for 30 seconds (while the battery is out) then put the battery back in and it would work again.
  2. I would snap up a couple in that case before they change their minds!
  3. I can vouch for the bit in that write up about the VSC lights. Someone's code reader lit those up on my GS430 Sport, shorting the pins in the connector reset them but only after an initial major panic about a costly bill coming up. My own reader doesn't cause the VSC lights to trip.
  4. I have a PDF for the mk1. It is mostly yank based, but covers most things closely enough. It is too big to email so pm me for download info.
  5. Not sure if the mirror adjustment switch should be lit or not, it wasn't in my pic, but it could've been blown.
  6. Yeah, I've seen them in US, they are basically the same as the one I had on my mk1. I was after a proper sturdy job this time round.
  7. Again, not an LS but I've just had my spare set of wheels refurb'ed for my GS300 Sport and had Kumho KW27 fitted (275 35 18 for the rears, 245 40 18 for the front). Temps haven't dropped enough yet to put them on, but the reviews I've read have all been good. I wouldn't hang about too long to get them ordered as winter tyres become very thin on the ground once winter sets in.
  8. where are you seeing mk2 strut bars for less then £100?.. lol I had a strut bar for my mk1, cost £34 from what I remember. I have to say, it was probably more cosmetic than function (the cross bar flexed plenty by hand), but looked ok though. Just had a look on ebay and the one I bought isn't listed at the moment except from the US. You can see the type I had in the pic below
  9. No mate. Mine had the seperate key/transponder and remote. I never had a problem with that arrangement. The only combined ones I've had are on my newer two GS's, and the remote bits come out very easily.
  10. there are two bulbs in the gear selector, similar bayonet types as the AC unit but I can't remember off the top of my head which size, probably the larger ones. Once you have the panel out, it is obvious where they are. The pic below was from my mk1, so the fog and headlamp height adjuster should be lit.
  11. This is for the clears, clear side repeaters and there are some crystal ones too here crystal side repeaters
  12. the clear side repeaters off the RX300 (I think it was) fit the mk1, which is what I did when I had mine. Having said that, there are clear (not crystal) ones on ebay at the moment for £15 a pair plus postage. The genuine items like I used will cost more than that. Must admit, I've seen nothing for the arse end of jzs147, other than a de-tango or DIY smoke, I don't think there is much choice.
  13. What do you mean for the rears? I've not seen any aftermarket clusters, but from what I remember you can de-tango them.
  14. No idea mate. I had just received the lamp that I had won on eBay for a tenner. I was just fannying around pulling bits off like the aim adjusters and hid ballast etc.
  15. If the adjusters are like the GS ones, they connect to a rod inside the light unit, my guess would be that it has not connected with that rod (which may drop off-centre when the motor is pulled off)
  16. I would give Lexus a call too, if any of the servicing was done by them, they will corroborate the print out, they did this for me when I bought my GS430 Sport which had a replacement book that I wanted to double check.
  17. Welcome to LOC Sadly, I suspect none of those criteria are possible with an IS200. Big costs to boost performance, very mediocre economy to start with :(
  18. The info you need should be in this thread mate http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=64776 The tuturials in my sig below for the AC panel and dash removal should help if you need any info on taking them out/apart.
  19. I can't even begin to think why he is doing that
  20. try the link below and see if it has what you are after http://bahamutcars.free.fr/workshop/workshop.html
  21. Nice setup. I much prefered the aftermarket setup I put in my old '99 GS300 Sport, Much better sound, especially with the vibe sub in the boot. Not got round to doing it on my GS430 Sport yet (it has the factory satnav in it - but not too fussed about that myself).
