  1. Go on then tell me where it is, I didnt realise you had to play "Wheres Wally" these days on ebay. Mike It is in the 5th pic. In the end, you have backed up his point I suspect even if it isn't a great selling tactic.
  2. But, it is a two way street. He is probably being smart with you, why? If you look at the listing again properly, you will see your answer ;) FWIW, my guess on the mileage is 94,631. Still gonna buy? I'm just pulling your leg btw about buying, although the mileage is there if you look properly :)
  3. That is the low pressure side of your air con mate, not water. You have just jiggered your air con if you did what you said above. Sorry chap.
  4. I can't see how it can be a four hour job personally. I did mine on my mk1 in less than an hour. Radiator comes out the top. Can be done leaving the viscous fan on, but easier job if you remove it. No gotchas that I remember. Aircon fans have to come off as part of the job but nothing complicated with them.
  5. Check that it isn't one of the extended warranty known issues?
  6. Also worth looking at water down the plug wells. Checking plugs/leads can be a bit of a pain as the throttle body has to come off to get to one of them properly.
  7. Pencil me in as a "possible", last minute work would have to take precedence.
  8. Removing should be simple enough, the control shaft lever is held on top of the switch by a nut, and once removed, the bolt holding the switch on can be undone. No idea if the switch can be dismantled and serviced, it doesn't look like it to be honest. I'm sure a breaker would have a second hand unit. it mentions in the manual to remove the front exhaust section, not sure how much room there is if you don't. I don't have a GS300 anymore to have a look though.
  9. Do you mean DIY or independent garage using genuine parts? Try sending user ACLex a message on here, he works in Lexus Poole parts department and does discount for members and postage. Gold membership on here will get a discount of 10-15% from most of the main dealer parts departments too.
  10. No idea mate. Worth a go I guess, nothing lost if it doesn't work. They are expensive, which is a pain. On my Corrado, they can be got for £7 each, for the Lexus, £130 each :(
  11. Most likely one or more of the abs sensor wiring looms are jjiggered mate. Happened to me on my GS430 when doing the replacement springs. Still need to get the codes scanned (the cheap DIY ones don't do the abs ecu) so that I can buy a replacement sensor. It is one or both on the front for mine.
  12. With such little journeys, even the urban figures would be difficult to achieve while the car is warming up. Ideally, would be handy if another gs430 owner was close enough to see it. I'm in Nottingham tomorrow and dont mind meeting near Nottingham somewhere after work, or I'm in Peterborough on Thursday and could meet around that area.
  13. What kind of journeys are you doing in it on average? (i.e. distance and type of traffic)
  14. There isn't anything to reset after changing them. Replace, reset engine light, off you go. If any of the sensors are duff, I would expect a fault code and an engine light. Even when I had two knackered sensors on mine, the car felt no different.
  15. hmm interesting list. Is all that seriously missing from yours? not sure why they need to change all of those to see if the rad needs changing As mentioned above, the radiator can be sourced from SC430, and are available on ebay in the UK, Shroud looks to be GS430 only Fans x 2 cross ref to GS300 and IS300, so a breaker should be able to help with that. 1 of the fan motors cross refs to GS300, so a breaker should be able to help with that. the other cross refs to GS300 and IS300, so a breaker should be able to help with that. expansion tank cross refs to SC430. the GS300 refs are obviously gen 2 jzs160, not gen 1 jzs147. So on fuel consumption, what is it showing as current consumption when cruising at say 60mph on a level'ish road? at 30mph?
  16. Just keep in mind you will more than likely get stung for import tax on the radiator from the states. Part number for radiator does cross ref between SC430 2001 onwards and GS430 98 - 2004, so I would consider that. No idea what you are refering to with the "vent cradle". Any pics of the radiator and tank? Nice selection of plugs Is your car have the factory satnav? There are some consumption figures on there which you could use to see what it is showing as real time consumption when cruising and accelerating. Very difficult to guage consumption just based on a number, you may have a heavy right foot and rag it around alot, especially if you feel it is holding back and you are trying to compensate. If you do all tiny stop start journeys, that wouldn't help, that kind of thing. do all the warning lamps on the dash work as they should (i.e. come on with ignition and go off after self testing)?
  17. If you turn off the "Auto" setting for outside/recirculate?, that goes back to "auto" when the ignition is turned off and back on again? Has the smog detection been set too sensitive and making it go into re-circulate?
