  1. In the end, you take pays your money and takes your chance. There have been a few issues with cheap wishbones on the LS forum I believe, but I've also known plenty of non-issues. Can be worth a punt if you keep an eye on them. As far as camber goes, as long as the bottom arms are left alone, you should be fine.
  2. Welcome to the world of the mk2 GS. Great cars B) Does it say if the advisory for top ball joint for the front or rear? Front ones are easy enough, there is a link in my signature to a tutorial I did for the mk1 GS300 upper wishbone, but it is the same as the mk2 GS300 and GS430. A '96 fog light won't fit yours as '96 is a mk1. You will need a '98 to 2005 one (mk2/Gen2).
  3. Glad to hear it is being sorted.
  4. I'm not aware of any Lexus ECU being reprogrammable, other than writing what the factory setup is. I'm think they have to be piggy backed or replaced with standalone ECU's.
  5. He has a thread on here asking already mate. Not a common item, and rediculously expensive from Lexus. The wooden wheel is not my cup of tea if I'm honest, and not many others I assume as there are so few about Yeah, S16 means a gen 2 GS. Edit: his user name is RoadRunner1983 on here.
  6. My 2001 GS430 Sport has the wedges in the beam that shine over to the left, so unless they changed the headlamp pattern in later models, some modification will be needed. The aim is self levelling, but you may need some of the stick on patches, available from places like Halfords, to modify that "wedge" part of the beam. Easy enough to see the "wedge" if it exists by looking at the pattern that shines on the garage door or other wall.
  7. Just for completeness in this thread, the pins to bridge in the OBDII connector under the dash are pins 4 and 14 Procedure is: Ignition off bridge pins ignition on (do not start the engine) Leave on for 30 seconds ignition off remove bridge Check that lights are now extinguished.
  8. Yeah, I don't have the circuit diagrams to hand either, but I would expect that the inhibitor would only interupt the supply to the relay for the solenoid. Once the solenoid is thrown, the starter itself takes power direct from the battery through the contact that the solenoid makes. It is the solenoid sticking on that keeps the starter cranking even after the ignition is switched off.
  9. Does sound like the starter. Unusual it went from fine to sticking on straight away. They tend to go through a period of just clicking and not starting, which is the tell tale sign. They can be repaired easily, even DIY (there is a link in my sig to a tutorial I did). The dealer should be able to overhaul as I believe they can source the parts for an overhaul too.
  10. Looks fantastic mate, but I prefer the original grill myself, the new one made me think of a mk3 Vauxhall Cavalier, but maybe that is the angle of the pic.
  11. The connection to jumper is pin 4 and 14
  12. Anyway that that rediculous popup bar at the bottom of the forum can be disabled? (the one that says click here for news, videos& galeries - and the twitter/facebook links). Is it a user setting, as It is extremely annoying. No issues with it being at the bottom forum page, but not stuck to the bottom of the browser window so you can't get away from it.
  13. I did wonder if it was that. As the bearing is sealed, it is hard to tell if the wd40 lubricated the bearing, or the worn belt on the pulley. I would still change the belt as a matter of course, and then do the bearing afterwards if need be (as it would make sense to put a new belt on if the pulley was being changed anyway). Just a thought.
  14. They only seem to list a tensioner assembly. What sort of noise is it, and how have you isolated it from being the belt?
  15. On screen park assist? In a 1995? Do you have any pics, I've never seen that kind of stuff factory fitted on a GS that old, sounds interesting, as do the factory hids.
  16. A scrap yard will give you some money for weight of scrap metal, not much else. A rolling shell is worth very little in my experience. Most folk want what you want, the engine. Without it, it is pretty much useless unless someone wants a gearbox and can get the whole lot cheaper than a scrappy gearbox, I.e. very little.
  17. What sort of noise is it making? A worn belt will make various noises, especially now the damper mornings are upon us. I would change the belt first, and see if the noises cease.
  18. I'm with Admiral multi-car. Costs me £570 to cover my GS430 Sport, and my VW Corrado VR6, 42 years old, full NCB, 3 points and both declared as modified.
  19. Do you mean 1995 GS300? They only ever hand standard halogen bulbs is the only reason I'm checking.
  20. Have a read of the pdf's ColinBarber psoted in the second post. Everything should be in there.
