  1. Sounds like the brake booster (nitrogen accumulator) not working properly anymore. Not sure what faults they would throw, but the average code reader doesn't read anything other than the engine ecu, which won't hold brake system codes or airbag codes, that kind of stuff. Either that, or your power (alternator) isn't providing enough juice to run some of the electrics properly.
  2. There is a link in my signature to a tutorial I did for changing the belt, it should help you out.
  3. Nope, doesn't feel any different but then again I haven't gone much lower.
  4. The springs came from ebay, can't remember the brand off the top of my head now, but have seemed fine so far. On my mk1 Sport, I used RS*R lowering springs, which seemed pretty good.
  5. Oh yeah, forgot about those, I have Led side lights. The ones I went for were relatively expensive (£20'ish), but they are a perfect match for the factory hids with no hint of blue to them. I also forgot about the smoked side repeaters. If you want to see one of the best VIP GS/Aristo threads I have seen, take a read of this one http://www.lexusowne...topic=60533&hl= edit: hmmm, thats annoying, looks like he has removed most of his pics :megaangry:
  6. Depends what you mean by mod'ed mate. Mine is lightly mod'ed in as much as it is lowered (slightly more than the Sport is normally lowered), Mk1 Sport wheels, Carbon fibre eye brows, roof spoiler, LED rear light clusters and matching LED fogs. Less visible is a K&N panel filter, and aero wiper blades. Will hopefully be getting a custom exhaust next year to get a bit of the V8 burble more audible. Engine mods are too expensive for me, I'd sooner do that kind of stuff on my VR6 Corrado.
  7. Yeah, the IS's outnumbered my single GS430 Sport, and Rays SC430. We did get a honk on the horn from an RX driver passing by too... lol
  8. Yeah, Ray got some goodies and brought them along to the meet a few weeks back, always goes down well.
  9. Go for it, we used to have quite regular meetings at the Plank and Leggit, Sawley Marina. The M1 junction 24 ( East Midlands Airport) is just down the road as is the A50 and A453 from Nottingham so easily accessible from Notts,Derbys,Leics,S.Yorks and Staffs. There is also a large car park, refreshments and food are available at the venue Take a look. http://www.fayre-squ...ng-eaton/m6973/ looks an excellent place, Thanks for the go ahead, last car club i was a member of (certain vauxhall club) got snotty if you tried to organise anything without being an area rep. Could you point me to the right area to post a meet in please? It is a very good venue, went to meets there when I lived in Derby. They also didn't mind the carpark turning into a bit of a workshop (you would have to check with them that is still the case), so work used to get done if people required some assistance. i.e. I changed front disks and pads for someone.
  10. Cheapest way to get an entire exhaust is get a custom cat back system made. They can be bought for £300-£400 from various places. Non genuine cat can be got for around £150 if you actually needed it.
  11. We had a meet in Hampshire a few weeks ago.
  12. I would've thought that would be repairable. From Lexus it should be around £360 for the centre section, not sure what kwikfit and the like would charge.
  13. If it is repairable, then I would think most exhaust places should be able to do something with it. Can you ID the broken pipe on the diagrams below?
  14. Where have you tried so far? I got the ones for my GS from blackcircle last year, 245/40/18's for the front, 275/35/18 for the rear, all matching.
  15. Just checked back through my archived ebay purchases and they are the same ones I had on my GS300 Sport, and currently have on my GS430 Sport. I've not had any problems with them, but it may come down to how you drive. I'm not a slouch in mine, but not ultra aggressive neither. They are running with red stuff pads.
  16. Sounds like you have been very unlucky with this purchase. Sadly, the writing was on the wall for this car when it didn't even have the correct cooling system components. I'm surprised how hit and miss the diagnosis has been when fault codes should help.
  17. I've had a post in this subforum for ages about the exact same thing. Even a response just to say no would be helpful.... lol http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=70499&view=getnewpost
  18. PWR means "power mode" - it doesn't actually give any extra power, it just holds the gears longer, and shifts gears without having to fully kick down. On both my mk2's, I didn't find the PWR setting as noticeable as my mk1. ECT means "Electronically Controlled Transmission" - This is the standard setting, the whizzy bit is that the ecu learns the way you drive, and adapts the gear changes to your style..... supposedly. It is reset on battery disconnect (the only way to clear it down - and can be handy if you are a new owner so that it learns you from scratch, and not how the old owner drove and slowly learn yoru style). Hard to tell how much difference it makes, and probably the only real way to tell is reset it every now and again and see if it feels any different. Snow means "Snow" - It basically deadens the throttle response. Makes it easier to pull away in snow without wheel spins etc.
  19. If you mean on the blue GS300 Sport in my signature block, I don't have that car anymore, but I had the Mk1 Sport wheels (with the 10" rears) on it. I now have a silver GS430 Sport, but I have done the same with that. I'll try and grab some better pictures over the weekend. I have a set of wheels in bright silver with summer tyres on, and a set of anthracite ones with my winter tyres on.
  20. It's a common issue on the 10" rears, so you have been very unlucky having the 8.5" ones crack. Yeah, it isn't often you see the caps separately. Now that TTE have closed down, you can't even get the TTE logo ones. I even tried borbet (who make the wheels) direct, as the caps look similar to the borbet A wheels, they dont make those either. Someone is selling two sets of complete wheels refurbed on eBay, but way over priced IMO. Try PM'ing user ACLex (he works in the Lexus Poole parts department), I got some used centres off him that I think they just had on the shelves as spares, but not sure what he had left after that though.
  21. Doesn't look bad at all. One thing to keep in mind if you are going the powder coat refurb route on the wheels is that once the centre caps are powder coated to match, the logo doesn't have such a sharp edging and doesn't lend itself well to painting. May work ok if going the painting route rather that powder coating. Are the centre caps missing at the moment, or did you remove them yourself? They are hard to come by nowadays unfortunately.
