  1. Just the plain vanilla kit will do. You may need to reverse the pins on the plug that connects into the car wiring as on the kit I used, they were wired the opposite way round.
  2. Not entirely sure what you are asking Rob. The picture shows where the axle stands go (although they call them safety stands).
  3. Looking good so far, although not liking the black indicators myself, the sharp cutoff line between the indicator and the headlight spoils the curves of the car. De-tango'd ones look the best for me, but your car and your call :)
  4. Tony Banks in Leeds do custom exhausts, and at good prices too.
  5. I'll have a look later, I think mine were a couple of hundred, and then £50 or something for matching fogs. Like I say though, not cheap.
  6. Depends what you class as silly money mate, none are cheap :(
  7. There are a few on ebay and plenty on autotrader to have a look through at the moment.
  8. On my old mk2 GS300, I used to get low to mid 30's on a long gentle motorway cruise at 70'ish. Mid 20's combined and high teens to low 20's around town. My understanding is new LCD panels are available in the states, but probably easier to get a second hand head unit. What do you mean re: selecting the discs it wants? If I remember correctly (long time since I've loaded any CD's) they stack the oposite way up and order than seem obvious, so they may not load in the order you expect at first. Aftermarket parts are few and far between for these unfortunately, what kind of uprated parts are you thinking of? Common issues, not that many really. Sticking calipers and slidepins seem to effect most lexus models at some point. Knocking arb bushes, knocking bottom ball joints, LCD panels. Aux belt is simple enough job.
  9. ebay is your best bet, or one of the online breaker yards maybe. Failing that, aftermarket if you don't fancy main dealer prices.
  10. Depends how much you want to grind to whether the disc/caliper would be in the way. You could grind some off with the disc in situe. I was refering to replacing them and hence disc removal.
  11. I replaced them on my old mk1 GS300 without a full dismantle, although you will need to remove the disc. The main problem is if the little bolts that hold the shield to the hub ALL shear off. If only one or two do, you can sort it out as there are still enough left to hold the replacement shield in place. Take it real slow and careful getting them off - pre soak with penetrating oil etc and obviously keep oil and stuff well clear of the discs and pads. Basically, get the little retaining bolts out. Use some tin snips to cut through the old shield, with one cut on either side, you can then easily get the two halves out. In worst case scenario, you can get away without it, but it is better to have them. For the replacement, cut just one slot. You can then bend the shield open, i.e. bend each side of the cut in the opposite direction to each other, you can then wangle it around and get it in place over the hub. Bend it straight again and fit the retaining bolts. Once it is all done up, do any final bending to get the shield straight again. You do end up with a cut in the shield, but a whole lot less work than a full dismantle.
  12. Does it do it with the air con on and off? could also be worth giving the MAF a clean.
  13. There are more diagnostics (cycling through all the settings etc) but I don't think they would be relevent at the moment. The buzzer sounds if the fault still persists, no buzzer sounds if the fault was stored, byt has since rectified itself). Pulling fuses can clear stored faults, so it could be that they have been cleared already. No new faults have been detected though as 00 would indicate no faults. For the rear screen, I think you need to check for a voltage at the element on the rear screen next.
  14. Exhaust sounds good :) I would probably look at the mid-sport sound level when I get mine though. I had visors on my mk1 for a while (plus the sunroof one), I like the look of them, but didn't like the extra wind noise they made on the mk1, how are they for wind noise on the mk2? I have them on Corrado VR6, I like being able to have the window cracked open a bit without rain coming in.
  15. Looking good. Not a fan of stretched rubber, but still looks very good. How is the tony banks custom exhausts? any vids of it? I've been thinking of a trip up that way and was looking at them for a system for my GS430.
  16. lol... To resync (with the button presses only - rather than the battery out job), you don't have to be in the car. You want to be out the car, just using the fob as usual. After a while, it will realise it is the right fob, just out of sync, and resync the codes. You will find this happens if you change fobs all the time, one fob doesn't know the code has moved on because the other fob used the code, if you see what I mean.
  17. It had probably just ended up out of sync again. It should resync after a few goes as described above (is the light on the fob working?) Been too long since I had the mk1 to remember if the alarm will just switch off :(
