  1. ^^^^ this. Nice feature in really hot weather, but easily turned off by rotating the vent all the way round to the end.
  2. was there uneven tyre wear before you changed the tyres? Could be the geo needs setting up. A trip to WIM (Wheels in Motion, near hemel hempstead) is well worth the time and money.
  3. Should be the same as the GS, LS and IS models. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/50512-gs-and-is-pad-and-disc-change-procedure/
  4. I'm sure the needles are electroluminescent, and that the tracks on the back of the needle can fail (the return path for the circuit). I seem to recal that they can be repaired by, very carefully, soldering a strand of coper wire on the back of the needle to remake the circuit.
  5. They look like mk1 GS300 Sport wheels. Worth a few quid if they are in good nick.
  6. Whoever is selling it knows what they are worth too. He sold the wheels without the caps (someone will have bought them thinking they will just buy four caps easily enough). He will now make a goodly amount from the caps too.
  7. Get yourself a code reader, will cost less than £30 and will save trips to the dealer (although they won't read abs faults - but you can do that with a shorting wire and counting flashes of the abs light anyway). If you go anywhere near Basingstoke, I can read the codes for you.
  8. It is, but not a lot to be had out of the NA engines unfortunately.
  9. This is a tutorial I did for my mk1 GS300, it is probably very similar. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/50705-mk1-gs-parcel-shelf-removal/
  10. Welcome to LOC B) Yup, a '95 would be a mk1. Great cars.
  11. How did you get LOC to come up on tapatalk? Just search for Lexus OC Weird, doesn't show LOC uk on either free or pro version :( maybe it was in the network, but was removed when the LOC App released (but will still work if you already had it added).
  12. How did you get LOC to come up on tapatalk?
  13. Never had any issue like that on any car I've owned or worked on. The service manual only mentions opening the bleed nipple if they are hard to push back.
  14. I assume it is an app based on the cut down version of tapatalk. I use tapatalk and would prefer for LOC.co.uk just to be published to the tapatalk network (like LOC Sweden does). I am surprised that it is not free though, none of the other forums I use charge for their own branded "tapatalk" app.
  15. Yeah, just a push back tool. I've only ever found wind back pistons on calipers that are also the handbrake. Lexus tend to use a small drum in the rear discs for the handbrake, so no wind back on the rears either.
  16. It will be easier with a retraction tool, but can be done without. The SC front brakes are the same as the GS I believe, so some of the links in my signature block to tutorials I have done may help.
  17. I think if you look, you will find horror stories on everything. As was mentioned in that thread, all that is made in China is not cr4p, some is, some isn't. A lot of big brands have stuff made in China, so I don't write stuff off just because of it.
  18. If you are going to get a trolley jack from machine mart, I would recommend these... http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/ctj3000g-3-tonne-professional-garage-j?da=1&TC=SRC-jack I have two, and they are great pieces of kit (and lasted well over twenty years so far).
  19. Yeah, I've always found the halfords stuff very good. The type in this link I've had atleast twenty years (in all three sizes), and they are still going strong (oddly, the reviews don't do them justice, unless quality has changed since I got mine 20 years back... lol). http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_162686_langId_-1_categoryId_165469 Don't forget a torque wrench, a must in any good tool kit. All very well undoing stuff, but you definately need to do them up again to the correct tightness.
  20. or try this http://www.totalfishkeeping.com/lexus/shiftlock.pdf
  21. There will be in input wire into the stereo connections somewhere that detects the "park" condition. You could probably interecept that and fake the grounding or 12v that gets applied to it. All at your own risk of course.... lol
  22. No other costs apart from buying the actual physical plates to put on the car. The bigger pain is when you want to sell the car and keep the plate. Make sure you have transferred it off before advertising the car. Once a new owner has the car, they are not obliged to let you transfer the private plate back off. It can turn in to a time consuming process.
