  1. Their code reader probably triggered it. Follow the reset procedure in this thread and it should go away http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/76133-2004-gs300-vsc-and-vsc-off-lights-on/ Make sure you give it plenty of time to reset. It can take a few goes. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  2. Yeah, I remember the mirror mount on mine, what a shockingly sh1te design. Ended up superglueing the thing back on to the mount when I sold it. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  3. Welcome to LOC B) Nice looking motor :) Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  4. Easiest way, get a garage to do it. Failing that, if there is room around the lambda then use a lambda socket, if not enough room, cut wire off lambda and use appropriate sized ring spanner. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  5. I've just fitted a custom exhaust to my GS430, and chopped out the third cat to do it. MOT and emissions were fine with it. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  6. They are all a franchise at the end of the day, so it is a lottery as far as good and bad goes. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  7. Thanks. Contemplating having something similar done for my Corrado VR6 to get it off the ground, and then maintain going forward. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  8. Very nice indeed B) How much was it for the day? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  9. I agree with Dave, if the other party are going to claim off your insurance (are they?), then you may as well do your own on it too. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  10. Welcome to LOC B) For the engine light, best bet is grab yourself a code reader and check for any stored codes that are no longer current. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  11. I'll take it depending on price mate. PM me the details please if you don't want to post on open forum. Cheers Rick
  12. Ditto, I would be bagging an old V8 muscle car too B) Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  13. Is it user serviceable? i.e. Can the electrolyte be topped up with distilled water. If the cells are low, it can effect the charge it will hold. Not many are these days, but worth a check. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  14. Ditto Colin, mine did it a few times in the GS. Worth a clean before anything else. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  15. Yeah, I must admit, when I've done it there seems very little interest. Almost as though there must be something wrong with it, for it to be free. Strange. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  16. Nice work. Amazing how much better an engine bay can look with a few minutes work B) Impressed with how well the headlamps came up.
  17. Do the pics in this link help? http://my.is/forums/f89/rear-subframe-assembly-bolt-433695/
  18. Looks very tasty B) Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  19. There is a fusebox in the drivers footwell (might be one in the passenger footwell too - been too long since I owned a mk1 so the memory is a bit faint!).
  20. As per Dave above, no common faults specific to the GS430. All the usual suspects for all of the older models. Calipers/slidepins is the main one, nothing else "common" springs to mind. The GS430 had the uprated brake accumulator right from the start, so not a problem with that uinlike the early GS300's. Never driven or even been in an LS, so can't comment from a comparison perspective. The GS is smooth, quiet and very, very quick.
  21. For the boot seal, I would get some silicone spray. Put a wee bit on a rag and give the seals a wipe over.
