  1. Welcome to LOC Good choice with the GS B) Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  2. A manual GS would be cool to have B) Manual supra boxes are expensive from what I can gather, lots of folk after them. Not sure what the output of the manual box is like either, you may need to fabricate a prop shaft. As the GS was never a manual, you may have some fabrication to so to get a pedal box up and running. Engine mounts shouldn't be an issue. One of those jobs that would be much easier to start with the Aristo and already have the twin turbo install sorted, just leaving the manual conversion to do. 3. Welcome to LOC. Good choice with a GS B) Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  4. Nice job B) Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  5. If it is the same as my 2001 GS430 Sport, then updates stopped around 2009 if I remember correctly (I can pop the disc to double check if you like). So it will still be a good 4-5 years out of date. And yeah, no new features, just slightly less out of date roads. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  6. That's something my local MOT station haven't seemed to work out. Twice they have failed my GS for them being inoperable, which I then end up showing them as working fine as soon as I turn up to pick it up.
  7. That took some doing to get the water up in the V of the engine Handy that it just dried out. I've just changed one of the knock sensors on my GS430. If the 3 litre V6 is similar to the V8, then it isn't as bad as it sounds taking the inlet manifold off.
  8. Looks like it should be the screwdriver (with the double ended insert). Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  9. I don't think there is a third press on the mk2 GS's unless it changed for the very late ones. Just the once to lock, twice to deadlock. The mk1's had the third press but I couldn't get the third to do anything different on my mk2's. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  10. Later models, 2001 on, don't have the issue (no GS430's did as far as I know). Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  11. Rings are a possibility, I would expect the sensor to out the abs light on. Or there could be a shard of metal stuck to the sensor. Sounds like you will need to pop all the wheels and discs off to check the rings or for foreign objects. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  12. As far as I know, certainly on the GS's, the momentary "SEC" display not being shown when you switch it on is the indicator that it has not been set. You should be good to go. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  13. Yeah, the serated cord is part of the mast and can be extracted when replacing the mast. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  14. If the guy buys the car, technically the plate will then belong to him and he could refuse to let you have it back. The plates have to be transferred first to be water tight. Not a quick job to transfer either, so you wouldn't be able to do it over a weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  15. I might be depending on how you price it ;) Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  16. You can buy just replacement masts. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  17. If they are the same design in all the Lexus models then they will also have a fuse link in the base of the socket. They can blow, especially if someone has used a high drain item in it like some tyre inflators. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  18. The antenna mast can be bought separately. Cheapest option is eBay, but the USA site, about half the price of uk ones. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  19. Prices should be ok from dealer, but will be cheaper from a DIY store or similar. Always a danger you end up having to buy fifty in a bag or something though. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  20. Hub shouldn't need to come off, just the disc. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  21. Welcome to LOC Not much available for the mk1 unfortunately, and mk2 not compatible. State side may have some VIP stuff assuming import duties not too bad. No idea what the 93 supra had, but if it is normally aspirated, it should be the same as the gs300 2jzge. If turbo'd it would be the same as the Toyota aristo, and would feel considerably quicker with the twin turbo. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  22. Not sure about the RX specifically, but one is normally located on the front OS suspension, one on the rear NS suspension arm. They are just a box with a moving arm, connected to the bottom suspension arm by a little rod. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
