  5. Lithium soap grease is what Lexus state in the workshop manual, use something else if you wish.
  6. I'd go with the cheaper ones as well. If they don't last, then go oem. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  7. Try swapping the coil packs around and see if the code moves. P1305 is the second coil pack according to my code table. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  8. Didn't even realise they did a "Sport" in the 3rd gen. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

  10. Where are you located? If anywhere near basingstoke, I have a reader. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  11. From what I remember for the mk1, The key has a transponder in it for the immobiliser (there is a pickup ring round the ignition barrel), and there are two versions of the key. One does everything, the other is a valet type (doesn't do boot or glovebox). The remotes are separate. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  12. What car is it? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  13. Always find advisories a bit strange in general at times. For example, these cars don't have macpherson struts, so immaculate to say the least. It's almost like they feel obliged to put some down. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  14. Good stuff Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  15. Welcome to LOC, looks good, liking the rims B) Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  16. It's just the grommet for the wiring loom to head into the cabin behind the dash. He probably decided against it as he'd have to make a hole in it to feed the wire in Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  17. Hello mate, having a bit of a mare with hardware at the mo. I've cleared out some PM (so that hopefully I can receive some), can you ping me over an address and I'll stick the workshop manual on a disk and send it to you?
  18. Apologies mate, been away from where my laptop (pdfs not on my Mac). I'll try and get them sorted this evening. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  19. No problem, I'll sort those out this evening. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  20. Thats odd, i'll try deleting some old ones. The job wasn't that bad really, I was expecting worse after the mentions about the starter motor being a real pain on the v8.I guess it is a bit relative to your confidence with a set of spanners etc. I did have new inlet manifold gaskets and a new throttle body gasket to hand, as I'd ordered those before I started the job. Looking at the old ones, they may have done the job ok going back on, but was just safer to replace them. Trickiest part was wiggling the manifold out past some of the pipes after disconnecting the fuel line (plug it up well to stop dirt getting in. I can send you over the relevant pages from the manual if you need them. I had actually done lots of photos as I usually do, but my phone self destructed and I lost them all :( Cheers Rick
  21. For a service, I'd do spark plugs and air filter as well. If the gearbox fluid is clean (red'ish colour, not burnt brown colour) then i wouldn't bother changing it. You won't find any "official" Lexus spacers, only ones that will fit a Lexus. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  22. There are two lengths that the antenna works at, one for higher frequency ranges, one for lower. It could be you've got a different station selected than normal and is acting at it should. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  23. p.s. Put the hub nut back on before taking a hammer to the disc to break any rust. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  24. The hub nut definitely doesn't hold on the disc, it will hold the hub on the end of the drive shaft, that the disc sits on. Have you backed off the handbrake adjuster? And maybe clouted it to make sure it's not just rusted onto the hub? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
