  1. Will update with how I find it. Why did you move on from the CLS55? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  2. I didn't think bypassing the amp was optional, you'd have to, to avoid blowing it up with a high power feed. Unless it is a base "S" model that doesn't have the amp. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  3. Where are you located? I have a double din fascia, which you are more than welcome to check the fit of. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  4. Sometimes, an itch just needs to be scratched No doubting some of the performance Lexus models, but most are way over my price range. If a GSF was in my range, I'd go for it in the Lexus stable, but sadly that's not the case. The AMG CLS owners seem to love the cars, so I'm hoping it'll grab me like the GS models have
  5. The gen 1 gave me a few issues, notably head gasket and rear crank seal. Can't fault either Gen 2's for reliability. The 430 wins hands down over the 300 for fun factor though
  6. Yeah, no problem updating on how the CLS pans out. Garage confirmed car will be ready for the weekend
  7. Well, after 10 years of great Lexus ownership, its time to move on. Having had a Gen 1 GS300 Sport, then a Gen 2 GS300 Sport, and for the last six years a Gen 2 GS430 Sport, the itch of something else finally caught up with me. On Saturday, the trusty GS gets chopped in on a 2007 Mercedes CLS63 AMG. Didn't get a tremendous amount for the GS, but enough to not want the hassle of selling it separately. I'm sure it will appear for sale shortly after, and will still have the anthracite Gen 1 Sport wheels with the wider rears. It will also mean I'll be having a clear out of the garage with whatever I have out there for the Lex. Who knows, I might be back at some point, as I know I will miss the 430. Awesome car for very little money. I will continue to frequent the forum, as I'd still like to help fellow owners where possible. Good luck to all the present and future Lexus owners. Happy motoring
  8. The fact it runs ok when cold does tend to push it towards the O2 sensors. They don't do anything until the engine is up to temperature. I'm not quite following which O2 sensors have been changed, You mention code P0141 B1S2, and has been changed, then mention B2S2 has been changed. Does that mean both S2's have been changed? For generic sensors, or genuine, or non-genuine but correct connector plugs?
  9. I'd assumed the first car was before the private plate was put on it. Edit: just seen Derek's reply!
  10. That's pretty damn good. It was the door shuts that put me off originally with wrapping, but if that can be covered off as well, it's a great way to go. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  11. Nice job 😎 How much did it cost, and how does it look in the door openings? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  12. On my GS's, the three go out if the button to turn off the electric windows is pressed (to stop kids in the back plying with them), showing only the drivers one will operate. Press the button again and they will all light up. I'd have thought later cars/models would work the same. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  13. The one I have is this one, where you dial in the manufacturer. Mine is the 2011 version, so shows how long I've had it, works like a champ. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Fault-Code-Reader-OBD2-EOBD-CAN-BUS-Scanner-diagnostic-tool-D900-/222442801514?hash=item33ca9fc96a:g:eOsAAOSwdGFYzAMH the other one is this one, not so funky on the OBD stuff, but I bought it to do VAG cars to keep in the glove box of my Corrado VR6 (for full on ECU readouts on the Corrado/VAG cars, I've got the Ross Tech Vagcom cable/software on my laptop).... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vgate-VS450-VAG-CAN-OBD2-ABS-Airbag-Immobilizer-Diagnostics-Scan-Tool-ABS-BAG-/252413629143?hash=item3ac50652d7:g:RBYAAOSwnNBXUw9E Just out of interest, why are you expecting to see codes? As far as I know, temp codes are stored only for a certain number of ignition cycles before being cleared. Persistent codes (where they have occurred often enough to be officially logged as a fault) are stored until they are cleared and the CEL/EML lamp put out. Once cleared, they are gone forever. 1st time I've seen someone be less than ecstatic with no faults being found :)
  14. Give us a clue as to which units they are tiger fish? I'm keen to have one that has descriptions, rather than a lookup book. Also, if these sub 30 quids can do this, what's the difference between those and units in the hundreds, like the drapers and innova or whateverwhatever are seems very popular on Web article? I only quote the draper as have to in local Machine mart. I'll dig out the details when I get home. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  15. both the sub £30 units i have, have worked no problem on every car I've tried them on (except pre-2000 GS300's), with or without the EML/CEL being lit. And both display some live data points if that kind of things floats your boat. One unit only gives the generic codes/descriptions, the other you select the car make, and it shows the full manufacturer specific description.
  16. That's true, but they may have been narrower tyres which is why the would have the higher profile. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  17. These people in Leeds seem to get decent enough feedback. Not especially close, but not bad for a day trip https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172612358809 p.s. You an specify the sound level and and end tips to your choice Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  18. as far as I know, they are all interchangeable as far as pcd/offsets/centre bore are concerned. diameter probably won't be such a big difference, that they won't fit, but your speedo will be affected slightly. Why not just get the tyres swapped over?
  19. The factory exhaust is a single piece for the two back boxes and the "Y" piece that joins them. I did think here was still a front section as well though.
  20. Do you mean the brake booster? What's wrong with yours? It is worth replacing with a post 2000 version (they are interchangeable).
  21. I can see why convertible owners might want to use them, but on a normal saloon, I'd sooner stick with a roof rack. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
