  1. Trudi, this could all have been avoided if you'd put an inline fuse holder on not that I agree with that though (PM on its way to you Geoffers to argue the point)
  2. If you pull them all the way out a ratchet system kicks in and the will go back in but you cannot pull them out anymore until they have fully retracted. Sounds like you pulling them all the way out on the odd occasion and setting off the ratchet mechanism (designed for strapping things in tight without the belts pulling out again afterwards).
  3. No idea mate, but my guess would be it should be on the same page of the parts system as the 5 ltr (if a smaller bottle exists that is). Best bet is give the dealer a call with the 5 ltr part number and see what they say.
  4. Don't ya just wish they would give them a proper name so plebs like me can tell what on earth they are meant to do
  5. The point you seem to be missing is the fact that a shed load of people have bought one on here and sold it on again 'cos it was pish in one way or another. Cannae argue with that fella.
  6. It certainly does ...thanks for that Yeah I read this link, before purchasing my fantastic parking aid. Does anyone know if there have been any prosecutions or confiscations with this? the quote from the page It upsets police laser guns, naughty naughty. and they don't even know it... is somewhat misleading. If ordinarily when a laser gun is pointer at your car they get a reading, and when they point it at yours they don't, then they do know it. That is exactly how they catch people with jammers.
  7. I would think it highly unlikely mate. What online breakers have you tried?
  8. I know I have no interest in this topic other than reading it, but from that perspective i can sit quite easily on the fence. When people keep saying this isn't a witch hunt, it sure does sound like one. If I was Snowman, I wouldn't come on here as some of the quotes above are as yet unjustified and some are just plain aggressive. If people are just trying to get to the facts (and apparently that is all anyone wants........ bar the comments about getting refunds etc ), why keep speculating when people just need to wait for answers from the guy who had the initial problem at WIM? In the meantime, disconnect them if you have them fitted and wait. Edit: Looks like Yauwmeister beat me to it
  9. Remembering back to other iphone threads it seems you are still on commission from Apple. I would change jobs mate as you can't be earning much
  10. No real need for name calling mate. You can get your point across about the O2 sensors without needing to do it. :shutit:
  11. Sorry, no business mate, just a hobbyist like yourself. I do agree we get rogered on price the same as we do for everything else over here. In fact, you sound further down the salt path than me (just a 40 gallon reef for me), big freshwater stuff is my main interest.
  12. The old one I have in front of me that goes between the down pipe and the cat is approx 80mm outside diameter and 68mm inside diameter. No idea if that is the same as the post-cat gasket though mate. Edit: and it is about 5mm thick.
  13. I am want to get the parts together for a timing belt change. What do I need other than a timing belt and a belt tensioner? I have a belt already, anyone got a good source for the belt tensioner? Cheers p.s. Car is a '96 GS300 Sport.
  14. Can you get a photo of the offending damage and which door? I need a part for mine on the drivers door and probably the easiest way to get it is to get a door from a breakers yard. We could go halves or something if we both need different parts.
  15. Okay thanks for the reply I will start with the CV joint and track rod... I have asked my local garage to do the CV joint but they are taking there time getting back to me for a price I suspect they are having difficulty getting hold of the parts. Has the IS got CV joints on the front??? I thought it was rear wheel drive. Yes unfortunately for me it has... How come? As I have to have it replaced, lexus only sell the whole driveshaft (over £500) so I am on the hunt for the CV alone... OK. I'm still confused, which is not that difficult I suppose I thought the IS was rear wheel drive, therefore there aren't any drive shafts at the front, so how can an offside front cv joing be gone??

  18. Don't suppose someone has a Mk1 roof spoiler from this group buy knocking about that they want to sell on?
  19. Fairly conclusive result so I have left the badge on :D
  20. I love ebay sometimes when it comes to picking up bits for the Lexus. Had some top notch bargains so far: Just won 4 brand new in pack front caliper slide pins for 99p, normally priced at about 8 quid each. Also had a GS300 Radiator, 1 month old for £20 and the guy threw in a brand new set of HT leads. Air con compressor for a fiver. A pair of brand new rear brake calipers with slide pins for £49 Air con control panel and factory head unit for £20. Brand New K&N panel filter and Timing belt for £40. Both front upper wishbones, hubs and balljoints for £40 What Lexus parts bargains have you snatched on ebay?
  21. The space between fender and wheel isn't the issue. 20's would fit, I think what people are saying is the wheel just "looks" too big. With the correct profile tyre, they will be no bigger in overall diameter than the 19's. You will however have a deeper side wall on your tyre with the 19's and will get a slightly better ride and of course less chance of denting your rims on rubbish roads with pot-holes etc.
