  1. Unless a stone had been thrown up and jammed itself in causing the damage? You would certainly of heard when it happened I would've thought if it was a stone or similar.
  2. Can you get a picture of the damage? I can only imagine it has been whacked by something, who knows what though.
  3. That's what I was thinking, and it would look better too. The back is pants, the front not bad, but not worth the cost at all IMO.
  4. I like it. I think it would look better with smaller kidneys to sleek up the front end a bit but other than that I think it looks fine.
  5. On both websites they give the casting number, your caliper will have this number on its casing so that is the best and most difinitive way of i.d'ing the correct one. It does look like the refundable deposit (surcharge) will not be refundable in your case if the caliper casing is actually damaged/broken, so the bill is likely to be a tad higher once that is taken into account. I can't imagine that braking too hard would crack the case.
  6. Do you mean the battery is going completely flat again and won't restart unless you jump start it? I would expect higher than 13.5 volts from the alternator too, more like 14.2 so it may not be working too well. How do you know the battery is good?
  7. If I remember correctly, you will need to remove the disc. Details on how to do it in this link clicky
  8. Good to hear it is sorted Got any pics of what you needed to make?
  9. Falkens are way better than Federal. I had the 452's on my GS but changed to F1 GSD3's as at the time as they were cheaper than the 452's. I don't really consider the Falkens to be a budget tyre personally, albeit that Camskill do seem to have great Falken prices at the mo, they weren't when I looked last time. 275/35 18's on camskill at the monent are £116, which is a fantastic price, last time they were £160 odd quid each.
  10. Welcome to LOC. Hopefully any info passed around on PM's will also be put on the forum, much better to have the info out there for people to see than all cloak and dagger stuff
  11. Last budget tyres I had were on my 325 coupe, came as part of a wheel tyre package, this is what I found on them. Not sure if it was bad fitting practice or the tyres themselves, but it was pretty scary considering I drove my kids around with them on before I spotted the inside walls. It was like this on the inside walls of 3 out of the 4 wheels. The wheels The problems close up of the cracks/splits
  12. How about Keeping the foot brake for MOT purposes and have a haydraulic handbrake like on race/rally cars. Should be a lot simpler to install. Just a thought.
  13. All I could find was P1651 VSV For ACIS Circuit Malfunction. Any P1*** numbers are manufacturer specific so although it is a lexus code, not sure if it covers all models. There is a description of sorts of that code on this link, but again, not sure how model specific it is clicky
  14. The drum is built into the discs. When getting the rears discs off, you need to wind the self adjuster back off slightly to get the handbrake shoes to clear any lip that may have formed on the drum face. You do this by rotating the disc until the hole in the drum is towards the bottom, you can then get a screw driver through the hole to back off the adjuster. Everything else (removing caliper, mount etc ) is the same as the front pretty much.
  15. The journey from Maidstone to Sidcup is a tad shorter than from Plymouth though mate
  16. I've got this as my startup & shutdown screens on my TomTom B)
  17. Stav has one on this thread if it is still available clicky
  18. To be fair, the only way you could've made it look any worse would've been to do something like this.....
  19. Obviously doesn't work too well or needs setting up to your own preference.
  20. What kind of movement of the discs are you talking about Stav? I wouldn't expect any movement of the disc (in a rotational sense), and would worry about it if they were bacuase your wheel is probably loose if it isn't clamping it firmly in place. Sounds like the clips on either end of the pad (that clip onto the caliper mount). They keep the pads snug but I guess could compress slightly and allow the pad to move slightly. Which will then move back again as you actually stop, causing a "clicking" . Maybe see what condition they are in, and check if the shims are in place which would help prevent the movement a bit more.
  21. One word of caution with the Fiat coupe, cambelt change is at 70K and it is an engine out job. Interpret that as a bloody expensive cambelt change. That has caught a lot of people out as Fiat obviously don't advertise the fact.
  22. OK, fair enough. Any scrap yards in Norway?
