  1. If you are just doing the pads, then the tutorial I did here -------> clicky for the front brakes should cover it (the rear setup is pretty much identical other than a single pot caliper on the rear). If you are dong the discs, I haven't done a rear disc tutorial yet and will be different as the rear disc have the park brake drum and shoes incorporated. You might want to check out the "Slide Pin Overhaul" tutorial I did here clicky just in case you want to do that at the same time. p.s. Welcome to LOC B)
  2. What year is your GS? What is wrong with the fully auto antenna that was already fitted? Pins on the connector are as follows for a Mk1 GS (others may be the same, not sure) if measuring between the pin number and ground: Pin # to ground Condition of switches and/or radio Result 7–Ground Constant Continuity 3–Ground Constant Battery positive voltage 8–Ground Ignition switch ACC or ON Battery positive voltage 8–Ground Ignition switch LOCK No voltage 6–Ground Ignition switch ON Battery positive voltage 6–Ground Ignition switch ACC or LOCK No voltage 2–Ground Ignition switch ACC or ON and Radio or Tape or CD switch ON Battery positive voltage 2–Ground Ignition switch ACC or ON and Radio or Tape or CD switch OFF No voltage 5–Ground Ignition switch ACC or ON and Radio switch ON Battery positive voltage 5–Ground Ignition switch ACC or ON and Radio switch OFF No voltage 4–Ground Ignition switch ACC or ON and Radio switch ON (AM or FM (87.9–96.0 MHz)) Battery positive voltage 4–Ground Ignition switch ACC or ON and Radio switch ON (Except AM or FM(87.9–96.0 MHz)) No voltage 1–Ground Ignition switch ACC or ON and Radio switch ON (AM) Battery positive voltage 1–Ground Ignition switch ACC or ON and Radio switch ON (Except AM) No Voltage Hope that helps
  3. There are always some on ebay for sale. No idea on difficulties in fitting, but would imagine a hydraulic press or bearing puller would be the minimum requirements for the job.
  4. What year is your GS300 mate? Maybe worth checking that all of the connections on the inlet (induction) side of the throttle body are secure and leak free and that they are not split. As Anees mentions, getting the fault codes read might give some pointers, depending on the year depends how those codes can be read.
  5. Hope you get it sorted mate but gotta agree with Parthiban and Wozza, No way I would leave my car like that and mine is worth far less than yours.
  6. Maybe it is because they were doing stuff for children in need last Friday night
  7. I have PIAA's in my mainbeams and can't really say I have really noticed any improvment. I do have hids on the dips and would defo recommend them B)
  8. Does it unlock ok? The central locking motor in that door would be my first guess, or dodgy wiring.
  9. They are sometimes called tie-rod ends, but not wishbones or control arms as far as I have heard. In the picture below, it is the balljoint you can see by the axle stand with the castlellated nut on it. basically, it is how the steering rack connects to the hub. Much, much cheaper to replace than the wishbones etc. :)
  10. Great prices Pete. Do you know how long the price will be available for? Christmas is nearly here and I would definately want to go for it early in the new year. I could possibly do it sooner, depending if my contract gets extended in the next couple of weeks.
  11. will the normal gs eibachs not fit onto the sport then? Yup
  12. I've never had the logging in and out problems. But last night when I logged in, I got a PM popup for an unread message that I read 5 days ago, but it was showing yesterdays dates for everything
  13. I have no idea on Dyno machines, so can you talk us through how you back up a dyno machine Rob?
  14. Thanks Rick I did PM you back with a reply to your answer did you get it OK Norman Yes mate, cheers. Glad it helped. Just thought I would put what I had written in the thread in case it is of use to anyone in the future.
  15. Replied mate. Not really sure if I can help or not but as far as I know, the Mk2's were OBDII compliant. check out this link clicky where I was asking what kind of socket this was (under the dash on the drivers side). If yours is the same socket, then it isn't OBDII compliant, if it is different, then chances are it is. If I remember correctly, Maneesh on here had a 99 Sport, I'm sure he had a reader.
  16. Come on guys, we are talking about a garage, not MI5 or the Pentagon. Electronic data is just as easily "tampered" with as paper. Infact, a piece of paper knocking around a filing cabinet for a year is going to show signs of age, and any new additions to it will stand out like a turd on a bowling green. Electronic data shows no such ageing. If you are really expecting a garage to have encrypted, locked away, stored off site, top secret classification dyno reports, then someone will have had to do that, and they will know how to undo or remove that protection, and therefore tamper as easily as they could before. Having an electronic copy of the info is no more use than having a hard copy, simple as that really.
  17. No offense mate, but that was a pretty stupid thing to just write on a public forum, with links and location to the where abouts of the car. Anyone could steal the car and you would be prime suspect.
  18. Funny you should say that. Mine does exactly the same and I have not yet managed to find the cause. I thought it would be picked up by the MOT too but it wasn't. I'll let you know if I find the problem.
  19. I have used these people before http://www.japarts.co.uk/shop/
  20. I would definately be interested for my Mk1 GS if the deal can encompass all models. I'm doing 40k miles a year at the moment and would certainly benefit.
  21. I would change both personally. You might find it quite difficult to get standard springs (the sport is lowered by 25mm all round) so they are not the "standard" springs for the GS so to speak. You can try Lexus, but that has been a wee bit hit and miss from what I have read on the forum so far. I had to change the springs on my Sport, as the previous owner had standard springs put on the car to raise it up due to his drive way. I ended up getting a set of RS*R Super Down springs from Envy Performance. Took quite a while to arrive (as they have to be ordered and shipped by boat from Japan) but I was very happy with the end result. Same drop as the Sport springs. I did see (might even have been Envy Performance) selling a set or two on ebay of the same springs very recently so they may still be on there. Probaly cheaper for the full set than for a pair from Lexus, assuming you can get them from Lexus. i.e. you could end up getting the normal ride height springs, and only know it once they are on the car and it sits high. Good Luck and welcome to the LOC btw :)
  22. Sounds like a saggy spring to me. An easy enough job to change the springs if you are happy doing DIY work.
  23. A few spring to mind that have always been fantastic when I've seen them. KISS, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Guns 'n' Roses (Original line up, not the new mob), Metallica, Anthrax, Scorpions.
