  1. You should find what you need in this thread I did regarding changing the AC panel bulbs clicky p.s. Could a mod move the "AC Bulbs" thread to the workshop sub forum please?
  2. I have a pair of warped Mk1 front discs (I think they fit a Mk2, although not sure with the brake upgrade you have) if you get desperate.
  3. Been quoted £200 for bearing, 2 seals and a circlip from lexus. Local motor factor £50, think ill go for that ! Yeah, I think I would do the same.
  4. Wasn't there a similar thing a few years ago with the M3? You could only use the launch control 3 times or something and after that, warranties were nullified. The ECU kept count just for good measure.
  5. Hi, Look forward to seeing your wiring later, thanks. Actually the sensor in the rear manifold is a four wire type. I have shown another single wire with grey connector that comes out of the loom near the distributor. No idea what that might be.The third little wire with brass push-on end in near the offside of the engine bay near the wing. Cheers Colin. That what I am saying mate, looks like you have a four wire sensor on the manifold, when it should be a single wire one that fits the type of plug you are seeing. I believe the the connector you are talking about near the discributor is the connector for the rear sensor. The other wire with the brass push on end is most likely where the other sensor (the missing sensor plugged with a bolt) has been cut off to splice it onto a universal type sensor. I will upload my pics later which may help clear things up a little.
  6. Hello mate, I got the pics you sent. I'm having problems with sending email at the mo so will have to reply here. First impressions is that the connector you have found (the grey one) is infact the connector for your sensor, however, it looks like someone has bought a replacement sensor but got the wrong one. There are 4 wire, 2 wire and I think also single wire ones. Mine has 4 wire types, but I know others that have ones like yours on similar aged cars. The other connector you are pointing to looks like the other sensor wire that has had the factory plug cut off so that it can be connected to an after market universal sensor. I have done a couple of pics of my wiring but I am about to head out the door so will post/send them to you later tonight. Hope that helps Cheers
  7. put the grease between the pad backing and the shim, and between the shim and the caliper pistons and calipper housing.
  8. Yea, you should be able to get it to work pretty easily. It is of course much easier if you have a multimeter or a circuit tester of some sort (even just a bulb with flyleads on it). At least then you can easily test when 12 volts is there and when it isn't. p.s. Aug 96 would be a mk1, like mine in my sig.
  9. That would be a universal type mate. All the other bits are all the variations of angled gromets to make it fit any car. You would have to cut the existing wiring to splice it in I assume.
  10. Hello Tigerfish, I've been under the car now and seen the senser under the drivers footwell. It does have its wire emerging through a grommet so that ones OK. The one I am troubled with is on the pipe that has the three rear cylinders running into it and seen from above in the engine bay. There is another wire with socket that is unatached.A single wire about the area of the distributer emerging from the loom. Yet another small wire is unattached that along with the others I have photographed. If you would email me I will send the images to you. Thanks for taking the time to help me. Email: colinrarcher@hotmail.com Thanks, Colin. P.S. Should there be a lambda on the front three cylinder manifold.I have a bolt filling a hole but no senser? Yes mate, there should be a sensor where you have a bolt fitted.
  11. No problem, let us know how you get on.
  12. Just to confirm, there are two on the manifold up in the engine bay, and one where the exhaust has all joined into one. If the one you are referring to is the one where the exhaust has joined into a single pipe, the wiring should be coming out from a gromet in the floor of the car. If someone has chopped it or pulled it back into the car, you need to pull the carpet up in the drivers foot well to retrieve it. If you are talking about one of the two in the engine bay (on the manifold), I can take some pics of mine tomorrow if you need so that you can get an idea where the wiring should be coming from.
  13. Which location are you looking? There are three lambda sensors, two in the engine bay, and one under the car (in the drivers seat area).
  14. Yup, that part is the same. If you click on the number in the diagram, it then highlights the part in the table next to it. The full part number is different :(
  15. Just checked the link Dan and the part numbers are different What year is your IS?
  16. Is it really a sealed unit? I expected it to be similar to the GS one, which can be opened up as per my workshop post to remove broken parts of the mast..... clicky. I've used both of these networks to source parts before http://www.findapart.com/ and http://www.247spares.co.uk/
  17. Replied to PM mate. Should be able to send out next weekend.
  18. You are correct, and as geoffers mentioned, if the earth lead of the new antenna is screwed to the car bodywork then there is no need to connect the earth to the wiring loom earth. I looked on my wiring diagrams and the colours it lists for the vehicle wiring was different to what you listed above, so I cannot really help with which colours are what. Pin 7 on the plug (assuming it hasn't been cut off) was the earth lead if you still want to find it. Is yours a Mk1 GS (like mine in my sig pictures)? If it is, I'll pull the carpet out later and double check the colours on my loom. Based on what I replied earlier with pin numbers, you would want the permanent feed of your aerial connected to pin 3, and the switched 12v of your aerial connected to pin 8. If I'm honest, I would maybe try and get a genuine aerial from a breakers yard or something. Would be much easier just to plug it in. And you would get the additional features like how the aerial extends/retracts slightly, dependent on frequency range the radio is tuned in to, for optimum reception.
  19. Pin 7 on the original wiring connector should be the earth wire.
  20. I'm sure monster-mat has mentioned before that the calipers are interchangeable, so from that perspective it is likely to fit. Not sure on the mount holes to the hub though, so I guess it would end up a "try it and see" excercise unless someone had specifically tried it before.
  21. If you get really stuck, I have a GS calliper mount which may be the same (and bolts too I think). Only problem is I'm not where they are until next weekend, although I might be able to get someone else to send one for me if need be. It would be more of a lottery that they sent the right thing than if I did it though.
