  6. When the knock sensor failed on my GS, it could be cleared and only come back when giving the car some beans, i.e. a decent amount of load . If driven gently, the light would stay off. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  7. Fair enough. I guess another trip to Lexus to get the specific code is probably the best option. The knock sensors aren't especially cheap so knowing which one it is would be handy, but you could do both.   8. I had a knock sensor fail on My GS430 Sport. Changed the one relating to the fault code and problem was resolved. Does need the inlet manifold off, but wasn't too bad a job all in all. I ordered replacement inlet gaskets and throttle body gaskets, but I recon the old ones would've been fine. Have you tried any other code readers, or just the one? Where are you located?   13. They are great bulbs, by far the best ones I've found. Good reliability too, I've had a pair in my GS for a few years. Bit cheaper now than they used to be too, I think they were about £20 when I bought them originally. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

  15. Other option is use a large flat blade screwdriver in one of the notches and use a hammer to tap it round (like a drift). Once it has cracked off the first fraction, the mole grips should work. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  16. i used pair of mole grips with a piece of rag to protect the nut and bodywork.
  17. I did this tutorial some time ago on my old Mk1 GS300 Sport. The details are probably the same though, so it may help....
  18. The antenna is built into the rear screen. Probably worth checking for any scratches or bad connections and/or earths on the element causing a bad circuit.
  19. Not a complicated process other than needed a good foot pump or compressed air to help expel the pistons. BiggRed4u on eBay do seal kits for the calipers. They are also pretty good direct for reconditioned calipers.

  21. There are lots of wobble nuts for sale that cover the range, so that change isn't an issue. The bore (and offset as also mentioned) are additional factors though. Adaptor plates make offset even more of an issue. Probably also worth considering the insurance implications, as non-factory wheels cause problems, they may refuse insurance completely with wobble nuts or adaptors. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  22. Wobble/variation bolts/nuts would probably do the job. But the centre bore needs to work too. If the bore is smaller than the lexus, the wheel won't fit either (and would have to be machined to increase the bore). If the bore is bigger, you'll need spigot rings as well.

  24. Have you tried bridging the connections in the diagnostic socket under the bonnet instead, just in case the obd port pins under the dash are playing up?
  25. Does look like they are hedging their bets on the Gen 2 and Gen 3 discs. If you're still not convinced, a quick call to a Lexus parts department with a chassis number would confirm it.
